Bws Cat 0 Posted January 7, 2013 He hasn''t done that well. Hasn''t even scored. He''s been a great player for the club, especially during league 1 and the championship, but it''s time for him to leave.
shefcanary 2,952 Posted January 7, 2013 Strange one this. On the face of it, if he is loaned out to beginning of February which is after the EPL squad list goes in, then he defo won''t play for Norwich again this season even if he returns at the end of the loan. I would guess De Canio still has to persuade the board at Swindon to part with the cash to secure his services beyond February so I would expect a few departures from the County Ground during this window to raise it. A deal may yet be done to make this permanent before the end of January.
Herman 11,136 Posted January 7, 2013 He must have done ok if the manager was willing to pay for him out of his own pocket. As to your second point, yes probably.
shefcanary 2,952 Posted January 7, 2013 I''ve just realised the significance of this loan deal. It means as I said above C Martin won''t be in the 25 EPL squad - whatever! That means a spare place in this squad, presumably a striker at that. I think a deal may have been done boys!!!
York Canary 29 Posted January 7, 2013 "I am very happy to have Chris here for more time," said Di Canio, speaking to his club''s official website on Monday."The new agreement means he is here for another five games but we will be working within that month to try and keep him here for longer."He has done well for us so far. We know he can score goals because he scored seven goals in the Championship last season and he has made chances here. I believe as soon as he scores his first then more will follow - it is like a little psychological barrier but we will work with him."He has played a big part since he came here and we are pleased to have him here for longer." Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted January 7, 2013 League 1 player playing for a league 1 club i think we will do well to get over £200 000 for him
York Canary 29 Posted January 7, 2013 True Yorkshire. Still means another squad space and another wage off the books. Plus 200k is still money to the budget...
Herman 11,136 Posted January 7, 2013 Will we get anything from them? Swindon haven''t got a pot to pee in by the sounds of it.
Gingerpele 0 Posted January 7, 2013 League one player? You clearly didn''t watch him in the championship then did you...
Number 9 0 Posted January 7, 2013 Not being sold in Jan then.Hughton doesn''t want to play him, doesn''t want to sell him.I genuinely thought he would be made available to buy this month, along with a few others. Sit and wait, trust in Hughton.
drurys testamonials V 15 0 Posted January 7, 2013 Good on him. Obviously impressed di Canio. Funny how some strikers are criticised for not scoring and others are praised for their efforts on the pitch despite not scoring.
