TIL 1010 5,246 Posted November 18, 2012 James Vaughan yesterday missed his 6th game on the bounce for Huddersfield and is due to have a scan on his latest injury. Now let me just say it is an absolute tragedy for the player but Hughton really did get some stick on here for letting him go out on loan but obviously his judgement and maybe behind the scenes medical advice let him see the bigger picture that the average fan cannot. Snakepit Ric 0 Posted November 18, 2012 Agreed mate. Unfortunately we don''t see behind the scenes and medical history of players. The club and back room staff do !!
priceyrice 133 Posted November 18, 2012 I was gutted to see him leave, he was the in form player from pre-season and offers us something different to all our other strikers. Although it does seem Hughton got the call right, this guy us a sick note unfortuantly and most likely on some high wages. My only complaint was that we let him go before bringing in another striker. But so long as we get through to Jan with Holt in tact it is not too much of an issue

There was a chance he would get injured and be out for a while, and a chance he would stay fit and score goals. We don''t know what those odds were. So you can call it an inspired decision to send him out on loan, or you could equally say it''s bad luck for Vaughan. I don''t think anybody "got it right" in this situation. After all, when he''s fit, he''s been banging them in. If Vaughan had stayed fit at Norwichand scored 25 this season... if Vaughan had stayed at Norwich, been injured and been out all season... we''ll never know. Mister Chops 7 Posted November 18, 2012
You do speak in riddles Mr Chops dear!
Let me try again. He "got it right" with hindsight. Most of us can do that.
Gingerpele 0 Posted November 18, 2012 He got it right from the outside with hindsight, but he made the decision without the benefit of hindsight.Maybe if he''d stayed here he would have stayed fit, but he didn''t stay here and he''s not fit at Hudders. He scored a few when he did play, but it is in a lower league.Of course we''ll never know, but Hughton likes the 1 man up top , at the very least just to get the best out of Hooly, and would Vaughan have ever been up to that? His history suggests not, he''s going to take lot more pressure playing up top on his own, his play style if very rash and reckless, unfortunately for him, for us and for Huddersfield him staying fit just doesn''t seem possible. You have to give him credit for trying, although i''m sure getting a much better wage than he would in most other jobs he could get to spend half his time recuperating isn''t too bad, but it can''t be fun having all those injuries in the first place. jed exodous 0 Posted November 18, 2012 I didn''t agree with letting Vaughan go out on loan with no replacement being bought in. We''ll never know what Vaughan could''ve done here, maybe, unlikely I know, but maybe he would''nt have got injured and could''ve scored Kanes chance, and maybe 2 or 3 others... We seem to have got away with only having 3 strikers for the most part, but it was definately a gamble playing half the season this way. Fortunately, we seemed to have sured up the back line so that we are able to pick up points by only scoring 1 goal. A goalscorer in January would be nice, but its crucial next summer... Mungo Bumpkin 0 Posted November 18, 2012 I don''t think we''ll be seeing Master Vaughan in yellow and green again. His career is on the same trajectory as the Beccles Brawler - freefall.

Saying "well done Hughton, Vaughan''s injured again" seems a bit odd to me. It''s like praising someone for calling a coin-toss correctly. Hardly skillful.
