First Wazzock 1,014 Posted March 24, 2012 Mark ClattenburgNormally a guy I like to watch...Today we had some good ''play ons'' as I would expect from Clattenburg, but he was guilty of some shockingly inconsistant Reffing today. In the first half we hardly had a free kick - even when one of their players was laying across the back of one of our players. Holty got nothing his way in the first half which lead me to believe Clattenburg had his card marked, and that proved to be the case. It seems incredibly harsh to award soneone a free kick then book them for dissent, having said that Holt was guaranteed a card for the stupid challenge he put in on Kightly, and appeared to be lucky not to get a straight red. The inconsistency came with Wolves taking throw ins wherever they liked yet when we wanted to take a quick free kick it had to be on the exact blade of grass where the offence took place. Clattenburg got caught up in play a few times, and it was a generally a below par performance. Mark Clattenburg -
militantcanary 0 Posted March 24, 2012 Wasn''t the Wolves player Jonsson denying a clear goal scoring opportunity and deserving of red for our penalty, shot appears to be going in.First Yellow was an absolute joke and 2nd one was not a marginal red though I will have to see it again. You can''t appeal yellow cards though.
militantcanary 0 Posted March 24, 2012 Ok, I have now seen it on videoHolty got the f...ing ball and maybe got their player a bit with his other foot. Not a yellow and that''s two non yellowsMark Clattenberg -
drurys testamonials V 15 0 Posted March 24, 2012 From where I sat Holts''s 2nd yellow was a needless challenge specially from a player who''s already been booked. More concerned over the things he missed . What about the player who took out Jackson in front of the Barclay and didn''t get booked? Holt''s 2nd yellow was no worse than that challenge
Thirsty Lizard 3,215 Posted March 24, 2012 Thought Clattenburg was very poor. I was impressed with him when he reffed here earlier in the season, but today he seemed off the pace to put it politely and didn''t give us a thing (except the penalty) which was absolutely stonewall. And haven''t got a clue what Holt''s first booking was for.

Mark Clattenburg - 5[/quote]I posted this about an hour and a half after the game, and had read that Holt''s first caution was for dissent. Having seen it a couple of times I can safely say that doesn''t appear to be the case. So why did he get the caution? It can''t be because he appeared to flick a hand at the defender, because if that had been the case surely Clattenburg would have awarded Wolves a free kick. The comment I made about Clattenburg having Holt''s card marked certainly appears to be correct, after giving him a yellow card for what appears to be no good reason at all. AJ 1,359 Posted March 26, 2012 Drurys Test, I''m glad someone else picked up on the horrible challenge on Jackson. The ref even said something to Jackson afterwards who looked a little irritated at least!Holt did NOT get the ball first. He clearly goes THROUGH the player to get the ball. Sadly, this is against the laws of the game, and always a danger when sliding in from behind. Definitely yellow card for that I''m afraid.

Matt Juler 211 Posted March 26, 2012 Does anyone else think that the referees report should be made publically available after a match?
GJP 79 Posted March 26, 2012 At the very, very end of the game a Norwich player attempted to hoof the ball clear from the box and as he was in the process of doing so Clattenburg put the whistle to his mouth (as if to blow the final whistle) BUT the clearance didn''t travel very far and came back towards our box from a Wolves player. At this point Clattenburg took the whistle away from his mouth, seemingly happy to wait to see what happened while the ball was back in the danger zone. Fortunately for us the ball was then properly hoofed clear and Clattenburg decided to blow his whistle. Wonder what he was waiting/hoping for in those moments. Also, why was it he was happy for Wolves players to take throws from several yards higher up the pitch than where the ball went out but got petty over us moving the ball 2 yards sideways on the halfway line for a freekick?
