Call ups

Recommended Posts

From the performances of some of our players so far! Surely it is only a matter of time before they get called up for their countries.

Marc Tierney has been outstanding. My player of the season thus far.

Hoolahan once again was just magic, how long can Ireland look beyond this gifted player. He adds soo much creativity to the team and was chuffed to see him getting stuck in and working back.

Johnson...The Third Lung is a machine! A beast in the middle. Could he replace the Parkers and Barry''s of the old England?

John Ruddy! Today he has proved the quality he has. That save was sensational.

Our squad looks very very exciting.

Elliott Bennett has really impressed me too, his pace and final delievery is excellent. Leaps and bounds above Walcott

OTBC

If Bennett was leaps and bounds ahead of Walcott then he wouldn''t be playing for us.I am pretty confident that after tonight''s performance Ruddy will get a call-up for the Spain friendly (possibly as 2nd choice keeper) and possibly Johnson too.

I appreciate its good for the player to feel they''ve got international recognition. But if they got injured in an international game it could become detrimental to our season so I think no international call ups would be better for us although that''s quite a selfish thing to say

Marc Tierney has been outstanding. My player of the season thus far.Kind of agree,he has been fantastic ever since he joined.Lambert''s best signing??? Hoolahan once again was just magic, how long can Ireland look beyond this gifted player. He adds soo much creativity to the team and was chuffed to see him getting stuck in and working back.I don''t think he will get into Irelands team.He has skill and flair, and the ball will go over his head.If he could grow by 2 feet he might get in[;)] Johnson...The Third Lung is a machine! A beast in the middle. Could he replace the Parkers and Barry''s of the old England?I like Johnson, but i can''t see him replacing someone of Parkers quality.Might get a few friendly run-outs. John Ruddy! Today he has proved the quality he has. That save was sensational. Completely agree!!Our squad looks very very exciting. Elliott Bennett has really impressed me too, his pace and final delievery is excellent. Leaps and bounds above Walcott OTBC.Dissagree.He''s a good player, but has to improve a lot before he can even think about a call up.No way near as good as Walnutt.Pilks on the other hand has been a revelation to me.Still has a way to go,but carry on the way he''s going........
Also agree with this point!

Agree completely. But like you say, it would just be great for them players on a personal level. The concern of injuries is a major factor that would have to mull over if the oppertunity came their way.

I think Bennett is a very good player and don''t see how he could be at a better club this early when he''s only just started prem football. I rate him highly

Ruddy''s got the best chance of the lot but will never get a game whilst Hart is available.

Tierney would add the passion, freshness, bite and hunger that England desperately need but Capello won''t glance at him until he signs for bigger club.

Johnson has a LOT of competition ahead of him.
Tierney & Pilkington can both play for Republic of Ireland.
I thought Tierney could also play for England?  Apart from Cole at Chelsea, he must be able to give Baines, Warnock and Gibbs some competition.

What about Pilkington, could he be considered for England?

"Quoting Herman"

Personally I hate this kind of view. I know you''ve stated that it''s a selfish view and so this is nothing against you but fans in general.

I love Norwich City and one of the big reasons is that I feel that our players are the right kind of people and that the way we play is the right way.

In a sport devoid of role models so many of ours are. It''s why I wasn''t impressed with Tierney''s antics at Bolton. I want us to be the good guys and Morison, Holt, Pilkington, etc with the step ups from horrendous injury and non-league football is such a great message.

I am a fan of this club, but also of these players and I want them to be successful and to achieve. I want to see England teams with Johnson and Ruddy in them. I want to see Tierney and Hoolahan out for the green of Ireland and Martin for Scotland,

We support Norwich, but we should also support the Norwich players.

But, fortunately for England, Capello won''t be around much longer!

By which time, we will have become an established PL team and the likes of Ruddy, Pilkington, Tierney and Johnson will have proven themselves, continuously, against the biggest names in the game.

(Also, with a bit of luck, we might have a British Manager - and I say British as I wouldn''t object to Martin O''Neill becoming next England Manager)

Why do you care?

I really don''t understand why people are bothered!

Its all about NCFC I could give a monkeys whether they play for ROI or get called up to play second fiddle to Joe Hart.

It makes no difference to our team.

The less noise about our team get call ups the better. If they get more exposure, these are good chance a bigger team will come in and poach them

Chelmsford - we care because theys have shown that they care about us - every one of them! So if they get international recognition, then we should be overjoyed for them.

I would love our players to represent their countries, but at this moment we can''t afford to lose Tierney etc.to a knee injury against some homicidal Ukrainian* lunatic! We are a good team but we haven''t a big enough back up.

I would also love us to play the game fair and square, but after the first few weeks we''ve learned that that is pretty impossible in the modern Premiershit!

Sold my soul........?!

Apologies to Ukraine[Y]
