Will all the CMS transfer talk sharpen the resolve of our current strikers

Recommended Posts

Players hate new players being talked about coming as they feel it may be a threat to their place.

I wonder how much of shove it will give Jackson, Wilbraham and Martin (when he comes back).

How much will those players want to prove that we don''t need Craig Mackail Smith.

I really don''t think it will help Jackson one bit if he has heard about this! His confidence is already shot, and this really isn''t likely to have improved things!

Jackson should take heart that he''ll get another chance and play his socks off as he has done - hopefully he''ll bang one in and then the rest will follow..he''s got 9 games to do it (if we get promoted) methinks
dont want to be negative but it could also work in reverse with players that think they now dont have a future not bothering.
Lets be honest , if we go up none of our strikers have a long term future at the club .

Completely illogical

Players who would be motivated or need this suggestion of an extra player to motivate them are not the type of players lambert has been signing. Anyone who may have fell slightly short has been moved on or found their chances limited.

On a personal view I would welcome any improvement to the squad if I was a City player as I would be more concerned that for the lack of an extra shoulder to the wheel my club might just fall short of being second over the line (or even 1st).

I also believe that any bonus is paid to all players., It is not a cake that has to be cut in ever smaller slices the more players there are. Bonuses do tend to focus minds as do the prospects of promotion to the Premier League. I''m sure anything that can help the current squad to win both, will be met with open arms.

This will probably not sit right with anyone, but my feeling is that Jackson is trying TOO hard, and putting himself under way way too much pressure - You could see it in his face and actions during the Bristol City match, was very evident. He just needs to relax abit - It''s not like he doesn''t get chances, and as far as i''m aware, that white wooden thing with a net at the back hasn''t got any more smaller than the one he''d pop them into at Peterborough. It''s composure what''s costing him, i tell ya...

agree, I think he needs a run of games, the issue is there isn''t that many games left. His first league goal for Norwich was a superb volley against Swansea, not just smashed but placed and when he got a small run in the team he scored two good goals against Bristol away, and was in the right place at the right time for a tap in winner against Middlesborough. He is still young, and I think is struggling for confidence, not ability

Yep - I hope we don''t ship him out too quickly Alysha, he is still young and nowhere near his peak, and i saw enough against ''Bristols City that it''s not skill he''s lacking - he was just trying way too hard, you can see he''s desperate to succeed and it''s obviously affecting him. He needs to chill out. Whereas I do not advocate the use of drugs, i must admit that i''d like to see him have a nice big spliff just before his next game...

Made me laugh though. [:D]

I said that pre-season, Jackson was trying too hard to score. Consequently rushing shots and screwing passes and slicing crosses etc.

Lambert defines loan players as "A little bit of help". Great man management as it indicates that the current squad are good enough, but they may need that extra push to see them over the line. In my eyes this can only be seen as a positive as it also gives the impression that the loan players are there to help our team, not to replace it (Roeder era).

We have seen glimpses, he has the potential to be a good player. People often compare him to Chrissy Martin but both of their game plans are totally different. Jackson has the better record for goals to games, but they both make very different contributions to the side. He just needs time.
