I suspect it was a bubble trip, so all fans HAVE to go on the official coaches leaving from Swansea and back again if they want to go to the match. Frustrating if you''re a Swans fan who lives in Cardiff I guess...

For myself the Norwich/Ipswich games have been ruined by them being played on a Sunday whihc is such a sterile day for football full stop!

 

Their is only a handful of idiots who would want to cause trouble at these games!

 

The local media hype it up more than what it actually is. We all know Ipswich fans and we don''t want to kill them!

 

Fans (apart from Leeds fans!) don''t have the idiot mentality that existed in the 70''s and 80''s and crowd control measures and grounds are so much more advanced than they used to in the past!

 

With the amount of police presence at Norwich games, playing them on a Saturday afternoon would pose no more problems than Sundays. The old chestnut of bars and pubs being open is rubbish since the advent of extended opening hours and away supporters get escorted straight into the ground anyway!

 

I have been told that the police use the old excuses to move the Derby to Sundays because they get overtime for working on Sundays!

 

Like the government and clubs refusing to admit that many fans would rather stand at games, hence the need for safe standing areas, Sunday games between Norwich and Ipswich are ethically wrong and need changing fast!

Now just calm yourself down Whittle and before you rant on just give a bit of thought before you post again.

Forgive me but i thought this thread was about the Cardiff v Swansea kick off time but of course you saw it as yet another opportunity to turn it into a plod bashing post and swerve it around to events last weekend.

Just point out where i have defended Norfolk Constabulary and put some meat on the bones where you state "complaints pour in".Give us the numbers with regard to complaints because rightly or wrongly the actual complaints received are very very low.I know because i have asked,have you?

Very easy to point the finger without factual evidence and as i said earlier in the week i will pursue a meeting to progress last weekend further provided those involved in incidents come forward and provide first hand information.

magnificent and mature approach that you have with the "your lot are a joke Tilson".I take it your broad brush remarks apply to everybody in a Police uniform and for that you do yourself no favours at all if you want to be taken seriously.

Now no doubt you will reply with more OTT abuse which will get nowhere.Just a pity you cannot be like another poster who was aggrieved about events last weekend who has taken the trouble to contact me so we can discuss some issues of concern.

Presuming there was overtime pay it would hit Norfolk Police harder as THEY have to meet the costs away from the ground. I''m not sure if plod get paid overtime, they simply switch shifts from what I''ve heard.

I would just like to point out though I was not the person who started the old debate about the derby matches.

I witnessed with my own eyes police standing by and not getting involved in disgusting attacks on women and children last saturday, and had I been younger I would have stood up to the bullies from Leeds.

Whats the point in making a complaint? Last time {non football matter} I just recieved a letter saying we take this matter seriously....nothing happened.......

City 1st you are right as the shift system obviously covers 7 days a week.It is not like a 9-5 monday to friday job so  weekend working means you are on overtime rates of pay.Of course there is overtime but in this economic climate like in all jobs it is at a premium and not tossed around like confetti as some think.

For what it is worth i think that the old saying "if it ain''t broke don''t fix it" has a lot of bearing on Norwich v Ipswich and Ipswich v Norwich fixtures kick off times in recent years when the Club and the Police meet.Now if Sky turn up we know who dictates the kick off time don''t we.

Apology accepted and my yaaawwwnnn was i confess tinged with irony as i get the impression you delight in plod bashing at any opportunity.Maybe we are not on the same page as they say but if as you claim you witnessed unsavoury incidents last weekend is there little wonder that the Police will assume it is a job well done if you do not step up to the plate and make an offiial complaint.Anyway no hard feelings.

My recollection is that there is often another game live on Sjy later in the day when we play the paupers.

I used to have a lot of respect for the boys in blue Tilly, just seems these days its a bit different, not just the police but the whole system in general........you must admit that those chavs on Prince Of wales Road...a few years ago would have got what for in the cells...now they have no real detterent.......personaly I blame years of crap goverment....but thats another story.......apologies again Tilly.
