First Wazzock 1,014 Posted February 22, 2009 I must compliment Mr K Friend the Ref, I loved the way he brought play back and awarded a free kick when an advantage did not materialise. [Y]Top marks, just a pity that all Refs are not so ''on the ball''.
Mister Chops 11 Posted February 22, 2009 Yes, and more importantly in the last minute he overturned an attacking free kick for Burnley because they''d taken the previous free kick with a moving ball... good work Linesman, too. I feared at the end we would be made to pay, but fortunately we clung to our point.
Erik the Viking 0 Posted February 22, 2009 He also let the game run as much as it could, without pulling people up for silly things and was there any cards yesterday?(none that I can remember?!). The art of common sense being used by a referee, very refreshing and long may it continue......Can we send a copy of the game to Andy D''urso to see how its done?????!!!! It''s a pity Ref''s aren''t up to a good standard anymore these days.
whoareyou? 0 Posted February 22, 2009 I have it from a very good source that D''Urso has been given a strong lecture and dressing down about his refereeing of the Bristol match. Not that it does us any good but at least the to**er got stick from his bosses.

0ridgemanddMMyyyy0Falseen-USTrue 0 Posted February 22, 2009 Sorry totally disagree Shackell got elbowed in the face early on by Thomson action by the referee none allowed Burnley to put themselves about far too much no suprise Hoolahan had to go off nearly got his leg broken in one tackle but the referee just allowed it to continue. Whilst I appreciate it is a physical game I dont think there is any place in the game for the arm or elbow but it is allowed in this country good to see European referees come down heavy on it. missing in action? 0 Posted February 22, 2009 i must admit, im a fan of the "advantage" idea, and very few refs play it efficiently, he did though.

All the nudges, pushes and kicks by Burnley generally went unpunished. So much so that they continued all game (suprised Cort had a shirt left by the time he went off!) They tried many tactics to break up our play and con the ref and he generally fell for them. Glad he didn''t have a major decision to make.
