If by some miracle we can cobble together £1/2M then that MUST be spent on a striker. OK the defence leaks goals on occasions but if you don;'' put away chances from all this possession wer''e having then we will go down. Our ''strikeforce'' is totally impotent (or is ignored / not rated) by the manager. Defensively we still have options (I''m assuming here that Kennedy and Bertrand will stay beyond 31st December).

We need defenders and strikers, Yellow. If you haven''t noticed, Dejan Stefanovic is out for the season and John Kennedy looks like he might be joining him - not that that makes much difference as he was due to return to Celtic in January anyway. Roeder said we look like losing Bertrand in January meaning in defence we have Semi and Omozusi on the right, Gary Doherty in the middle and Adam Drury on the left.

i think money needs to be spent on a defender bertrand is going back as is kennedy we are already struggling for defender and playing full backs at centre back

upfront we have options we have Cort, Lupoli, OJ, Cureton, and we could always loan in someone when lita goes back

correct me if im wrong . . but isnt he their captain? if so i very much doubt they would let him go for that especially when they know that they could double their money by selling to a premiership club. anyway do we really need another centre back?

I still reckon Martin Tylor would be a good signing for us. I doubt he''s worth anymore than £500k now. Then Ched on loan! [:D]

It''s because he is out of contract at the end of the season.

I dont think he''ll come to us either and not for that amount. But we definetly need another centre back even before Stefanovic injury. Kennedy goes back soon and could be injured himself. That leaves just Doherty as the specialist centre back in the whole squad. If we are going to stop leaking goals we have to get the back four sorted out, strikers can come and go as loans more easily, bedding in more loan defenders when trying to keep a tight defence is far more difficult.

i think mr roeder is trying to sign alex bruce, although the player is desperate to stay at ipswich but  with a fully fit squad magilton doesnt fancy him, imo he is our best defender and hope he doesnt sign for you but the way he is being treated by the club i doubt he will have any qualms about crossing the waveney and proving a few people wrong

Ward is 24 in Janaury 2009 (DOB 19/1/85).

Coventry      97+1 league apps   13 goals.
With that number of league appearances for Coventry in two and half seasons he''s obviously a regular. He also knows where the opponents goal is located.
That''s because he''s there penalty taker.

To have to part with Bell, just about the only player we have now who can hit a dead ball properly, is a terrible indictment of how far we have sunk, especially as we parted with Shackell not long ago.
