One thing that any potential investor should know.

Recommended Posts

Why do people, rich people invest in football teams. To make a financial gain? Nah that don’t happen at 99% of club if not 100%. They do it because it excites them because they are football fans at heart and because like all of us they dream about being at a football ball club with all the passion all the banter all the thrills and spill and most of all to bask in the adoration of the fans. Who doesn’t dream of having their name sung by 25000 crazy football fans who love them. We all have dreamt of it at one time.Well If that is right and I’m convinced that some if not all of it is. Then one thing we can guarantee any potential investor is a welcome and backing that you are unlikely to get or guarantee from any other club in the world. We are some if not the loyalist fans in the world. We turn up in our masses even when our football is dire and when it’s good we sell out every week and then some. We don’t turn easily we are not nasty are spiteful. We try and give every player, manager and associate of the club every chance to make their way at our club.Mrs Smith has always called us the greatest fans in the world. I think for our patience and conduct (on the whole) alone she isn’t far from the truth. So I, like most wish Mrs Smith a dignified exit from a club she has served well and say to any investor out there, give us the chance to return to the former status this club rightfully held and we will follow you to the ends of the earth.

nope. gonna have to agree with the above poster we are definitely not the greatest fans in the world. We turn up in good number, we are not violent, but.......we make absolutely naff all noise.  Carrow Road is full of applauding seals for the most part. The barclay and snake pit can get some noise going but when only about 20%max of the crowd is singing its still pretty shameful.  There is nothing wrong with making noise and it does not make you a hooligan if you sing.Loyal? Well again......we cant use that card if you look at the mid nineties. If you did want to look for a good set of fans then take a look at man city....30,000 gates every week in the old div 3, plenty of noise. We are by no means the worst but  i wouldnt be arrogant enough to call ourselves the greatest.Oh and if you have ever made a south american game then you can conclude comprehensively that we are nowhere near the greatest fans in the WORLD.

This is an unwinnable argument.

NCFC fans are no better and no worse than any other fans.

We make lots of noise sometimes and we make little noise at other times.

That happens all over.

The idea that some stadiums are always full of hyped up super noisy super pasionate fans singing in every corner is rubbish.

Highbury used to be called the library. (true sometimes , not true others.)

Visiting fans regularly claim to make more noise at Old Trafford than MUFC fans. (again yes and no sometimes)

Tottenham fans have been labelled fickle for as long as I can remember.

West Ham fans can turn on the team.

My ITFC supporting friends have been complaining about the non atmosphere at their ground for some years now.

Thats how it is, football grounds are the same mixture of noisy/non noisy, hopeful/cynical, supportive/critical fans whichever team is involved.

I was listening to Everton v Boro on Sunday and at one point the commentator said "If you closed your eyes you wouldn''t know you were at a football match".

When it comes to Prem clubs the attraction for investors is Sky money and exposure to worldwide markets.  When it comes to Champ clubs the attraction is the potential to turn them into Prem clubs.  The number of people who actually go to games is a minor consideration.

Seats and more expensive tickets have been largely responsible for the disappearance of atmosphere.Back in teh old days it was easy to form a pocket of people who wanted to sing, even in the River End, whereas now if you sing everyone looks at you as if you''re mad. There''s ever more people who are going to soak up the atmosphere without contributing anything at all. Everyone knows it''s more fun and a much better experience to hear the whole ground singing, not to mention being an important factor in pushing the team on to victory.Get rid of the deafening and shitty pre-match music and organized entertainment-style nonsense, bring back terraced areas and make sure everyone knows singing is encouraged and it might just change.I think after 20 years of fading atmosphere at most clubs, the people in charge are finally begnning to realise that no atmosphere = fewer fans at the stadium and want to do something about it. However, ultimately it''s in the hands of the fans.
