macdougalls perm 0 Posted September 26, 2008 We used to play gigs in a place called ''The Old Court House'' (pronounced locally ''Owdcortows''[:D]) that is right in the centre of town and used to do good B & B rooms. Funny old place but was always a good hoot and might be worth a try.

National express super guard 0 Posted September 26, 2008 there is a travelodge, in a suburb called athersley but be warned they close car park barrier at night its that rough. premier inn just off the m1 near barnsley (altho it claims to be sheffield!!!). I only know this coz of when my folks came to visit me at uni!!!! they didn''t stay in a b&b for a reason, although friendly if you live there and get used to them, service is often quite abrupt!!!! CDMullins 436 Posted September 26, 2008 Good night is Barnsley, any City fans coming up here get into town, or ''up tarn'' as the locals say!
National express super guard 0 Posted September 26, 2008 if its still there, there was a pub in the square (opposite a record shop, think it was irish), that I spent many a happy few hours in. even saw us lose 4 nil to chelsea in there. I recommend it, either that or the one at the top of the square. I forget what they''re called, I have managed to blank most of the 2 years I spent up there out!!!! I lived at 84 castlereigh (possible spelling mistake) street (opposite church and car park), do me a favour and make loads of noise outside number 85. silly old bat was always moaning
