Our next three games...

...are away to Barnsley and Southampton, then home to Derby.  None of them are exactly setting the world on fire this season so what do people reckon would be a good points haul from those three games? 

I would have thought 6 points ought to be within the realms of possibility, which would leave us in a position where our season starts to like quite interesting at the 10 games played stage when most rational people were prepared to get to before we judged Roeder''s new look team.

[/quote]with so many changes to the team each week, i think its reasonable to expect up and down form - so a win, draw and defeat would be a fair haul in my book - 4 points from 9,  more would obviously be welcome.,.

I thought we would get a point from that at best on the basis QPR have started pretty well and are going to be there or thereabouts at the business end of the season.  The defeat was not an massive shock for me - what did you think we would do Houston?

Well on the basis that I wore my lucky underpants and lucky socks at both Plymouth and at home today, and I''m going to Barnsley next week and will be at the home game against Derby similarly attired, I will say at least 6 points...not sure I can get to St Mary''s.

a good points haul would be 5 or 6pts but i''m not expecting anything, its very possible we could win all 3 but at the same time it''s very possible that we could lose all 3

all 3 games are potential banana skins.. im more worried about Barnsley though. as on their day they can beat anyone... we should have enough for the other 2 sides to come away with wins though

I think this is a real oppurtunity to get some points.  None of the teams are doing well at the moment, and none of them are very physicall which suits us better.

Barnsley - I reckon we have to be looking at getting three points from this, yes on their day (just like us) they are capable of beating anyone but, I think they are a less than average team in the Championship so we have to beat these teams and I think we will beat them.

Saints - Again three points is a minimum against this poor team.  Their very poor at the moment and I cant see us losing to them, but a draw would be a bad result.

Derby - More worried about Derby than the rest, but again we have to beat these sorts of teams and we are more than capable of beating them, but I would be happy with a draw from this one.

I would have to agree that Southampton and Barnsley are really must win away games. The fact is both of them look pretty bad this season. we are 11th or something like that at the moment so if we can win those two we can get ourselves right up the table. Derby is also winable in my opinion and Wolves will be hard. and Doncaster and Burnley are also winable. It is in the next few weeks of the season that the table really starts to take shape in my opinion so if we can get ourself up there it would be excellent

I think we are starting to see how unpredictable this league is. I mean Blackpool beat Birmingham and plymouth after looking dead and buried against us have got two really good results away at palace and watford.

wolves you will play us the right time in my opinion, we bound slip up sooner or later (although no signs of it yet)

with last 3 wins being charlton, ipswich and pne (all tough places) you really want us to beat swansea away (our next on travels) because laws of averages say we wont win 5 away in row

Gave up predicting our results a long time ago, we are just completely unpredictable, could beat the top team and then just as easily lose to the bottom side.

I would say 3 points is a must against Southampton however has anyone actually seen them this season.

They are a team of unknown youngsters but they have been playing some fantastic football. They were very unlucky against QPR also. I wouldn''t assume we''re just gonna wipe the floor with them when we''e in transition ourselves.

Derby are a poor team but are finding some form and Barnsley are a Jekyll and Hyde team.

I think 6 points plus is realistic but need to approach it with respect for the other sides.

hehe i wasn''t actually predicting a points haul, the question was "what would be a good points haul from the next 3 games?", i simply said 5 or 6, anything less would be a poor haul and anymore would be a very good/superb points haul

later on i was just saying how unpredictable the league is and that it was very possible that we could end up at either extreme

I was unaware of the game until it was over.  Power came back on Wednesday evening for us, and when I checked the PinkUn to see who we played Saturday, there I was staring at the miserable headline of the home loss to a 10 man side.

Based on the fact we conceded a goal and lost to a 10 man side, I would not get overly optimistic for the future based on a last second win.  Don''t get me wrong, I hope the corner has been turned (as I did when I heard we won at Plymouth) but the terrible show on Wednesday kind of crushed me.
