NorwichRat 4 Posted August 22, 2008 I do not post a lot but do almost daily read these forums.A lot of stuff posted on here is shamefull. This is the start of the season and we have a new team that will need t least 10 games to get to know each other and start to play the football we want. Even so after only 2 league games you would think we were relegated by the tone of some posters.I allso think that at all games, no matter how we are playing, we have to encourage and cheer are new team. Lupi has got booed off allready and that i find that dispiccable, shamefull and disgusting at this time of the season. So what we if are not firing on on cylinders yet! All those people wanting a quick fix are not realistic - it is going to take at least 2 seasons to sort out the pitch side of things.Only a minority od NCFC supporters use these forums and that reflects in the minority views expressed but that is no excuse for the shamefull stuff that is being posted on a daily basis.I am saddened by what i read here andif it does not improve i and many others will stop using these forums. Lincs CR 0 Posted August 22, 2008 By 2 seasons, do you mean this season and next season being a promotion campaign, or two more AFTER this current one?I think if we get in a solid striker and fast, before the window closes we can realistically be looking at 6th-12th place, more likely the larger number end of that scale. I think we have what it takes but just cannot seem to take the chances, so I would say we already have it sorted on the pitch when it comes to defending and midfield play making. I think we can only judge our team come three weeks time with around a total of 6 games completed to assess both home and away styles of play. Some things on here have been awful things to say and we''ve noticed a couple on here who don''t even attend games but do not hesitate to slate the team based on poorly written match reports from various sites such as the BBC who got it horribly wrong for the Coventry match.Good things are round the corner, and when you say people want a quick fix need a reality check - spot on :)
Ivan Easter 0 Posted August 22, 2008 10 games to get to know each other is ridiculous. Pre season and 3 game possibly but, you cannot blame people for being somewhat upset as by know the striker problem should be solved. To add further Cureton has had all last season to get to know where the goal is.This season ???? well he better start soon.
Lincs CR 0 Posted August 22, 2008 I think blaming Roeder for it all is a get out clause for not wanting to get on the likes of Cureton''s back and say "look, sort it out or don''t play"We have made more than enough chances and we all know it, Cureton and the likes just do NOT take them, really they are to blame. Had we put away our chances we would not be battering Glenn constantly saying "you disgrace for not getting a striker in"Glenn has done all he can, up the players now

That said, I agree Cureton needs to stop moaning about the lack of a big man and start scoring goals - he''s had the chances, as has Lupoli and OJ.

Pre season and 3 games in not enough - Pre season and 2 games and Lupi gets booed off - you defending this?As for the striker - we are not a "glam" team so it is always more difficult for us to get players. If we were in London i bet we would have one already. We will get one but it has to be the right one and not just getting one for the sake of it. I am not in a rush for the striker as i think once the team does gell it will hold its own this season and we can build on that next season. You need to have patience dear chap. Getting the stricker this year will be a bonus.
Lincs CR 0 Posted August 22, 2008 Chops, within reason he has done all that he can. If players do not want to come here, or clubs offer ridiculous fees for their players what else is there to do?As correctly mentioned by the previous poster, we need the RIGHT striker for the job who will commit to us and will suit our style of football well, not just any striker we can afford to plug the gap, that would be a waste of money... Maybe it''s not his fault and he has done all he can - we don''t know that. I''m sure he''s tried hard. What I''m not sure about is whether he''s done all he can, and to not bring in one player of that type in nine months suggests to me that there''s been a failing somewhere and Roeder can''t be 100% blameless. And how many games into the season do we allow the strikers not to strike and not get peeved about it??Personally I don''t defend the booing off of any players, however the only time I have ever booed a team off the pitch after full time was last season, that was out of frustration and anger. What IF GR doesn''t get an out and out striker in this TW? Should we all then be happy to wait until January, whilst possibly our goal tally remains low?A possible situation, however it could all change dramatically IF GR does get in that out and out striker. Despairing, yes, many times over half a century but ashamed? Never. And never will be.Proud more times than despairing, as well. Sometimes in defeat. Four nil down at home in the first 14 minutes is hard to take but we eventually kept it to 4-2 so Yaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy.I''ve never got anywhere near the Premier League or beating Man U 2-0 or Bayern away. That''s my fault. I chose the wrong club (s).Such is life.
