Monsoon and flood

Recommended Posts

Just a heads up for all those planning on travelling to MK tonight...check the matches off before you leave as there has been one hell of a downpour this morning and it''s still throwing it down! Drive safely because there is loads of standing water on the roads.

Glorious sunshine here in East Herts now after the early morning monsoon and the forecast is getting better for tonight so hopefully no problems, but you are right to suggest checking whether the match is on. However I would expect MK Dons as a new stadium to be well constructed, drainage wise and not like Hillsborough, which you may recall had its flooding problems preseason last year. I trust any bad news though to appear at an early point on this message board...but looking forward to a good trip to MK Dons this evening. OTBC

I have to cycle to work in this...

Should certainly be interesting! Good luck anyone drving up to the game, and hoping we get the good win that a performance like at Coventry deserved!
This is a good point, but I don''t think it will be called off. It''s a new ground with undersoil heating, so the game should be ok to go ahead!
MK is a bad flood area undersoil heating is no good against flooding look at the Position of the ground, with very little drainage system this one could be called off, hope It''s not but never say never

So if it floods the team can have a nice hot bath instead! [:D].  Roads are turning into rivers here in NR2.

Same here in NR20, roads like rivers outside our house, garden is waterlogged, although I am sure that will soak away soon enough, supposed to be better after lucn with sunshine and showers predicted.

Hope everyone has a safe journey.

BTW I would think they have undersoil drainage that was built to withstand quite a lot of water, just like NC.

Ah yes, the fair city of Norwich''s ability to cope with extremes of

weather - or the lack thereof.  Admittedly the reaction of the

people to torrential rain is slightly less hysterical than when it

snows! Good lord, the whole city comes to a standstill the first time

there''s a spot of ice on the floor! I remember a few years ago reading

about possible plans to install under-road heating to solve the problem

- erm, maybe try keeping your eye on the weather forecast and get the

gritters out pronto! Works everywhere else...

I do love it, but at the same time its nice to not be held up in such times....

I live 30 minutes from MK, did rain earlier but beautiful sunshine has started to dry the wet weather away now. All clear for a 63-0 thumping
