Andy D'urso - What are the chances

Recommended Posts

of him sending off at least one of our players and giving Coventry a penalty? I say pretty high, how is he even allowed to be a referee in the first place :)

To be honest I expect him to keep a low profile. After what happened at Bristol I don''t think he''d make too many big decisions against us again.

Even though i am going and would love us to win, i can''t honestly seeing us coming away with any points whatsoever. I think the team is going to take a few weeks to get going and also D''urso being in charge, i don''t think we have a chance in hell. Even if we do score i can see D''urso not allowing it to stand! But still can''t wait all the same and hope i''m proved wrong and we get off to a flyer!

Let''s face it, quite a lot of refs in this division are pretty pants - am really not one to moan about them it is not very often that I''ve gone away from a game thinking that we''d had a particularly decent one - and imo D''urso is not really any better or worse than many others. For those who think he is a binner, I have several friends and relatives who support them, and reckon that is one thing he isn''t - they themselves have been the victim of some crap reffing from him recently.

Incidentally, and slightly oddly, he reffed our home game v Coventry last season, a game we won 2-0.  I don''t remember anything particularly contentious about the game, but believe it was our first win under GR.  Hopefully that result can be repeated this weekend.

Would be very interesting to see how he handles the game, especially knowing he was responsible for Glenn''s outburst last season, any bad blood between them will be interesting to witness!

He''s okay as a bloke.  A winger with Billericay Town as a kid (the club I started with) but not a binner unless he has changed lately.

And if you think a lot of refs in your division are "pretty pants" I suggest that when you are not at home you get out to the nearest League 2/Conference game.

What do we do to improve the quality of the officials?

While you have people sitting in the stands watching these clowns perform and then tell them what a good game they have had, we are stuffed. Rubbish performances should lead to demotion. It is an insult to Norwich City appointing Andy D''urso to this game after his dire performance in the Bristol City game last season.
