For too long ive been listening to fellow city supporters run on and on about how a Big Club like Norwich shouldnt be in the nottom half of the Championship......''

Well NEWS FLASH!!!!!

We are not a big club.... We are a poor Championship side who rely constantly on match winning performanced from our 39 year old.. Dion Dublin... the only way we are going to be a Big Side again is by throwing out the poor players in the squad like Gary Doherty. The player we needed to sign was a Centre Back, and the fact that Peter Grant hasnt realised this makes one thing clear.... Peter Grant shouldnt be managing Norwich City

How do you know that Grant doesnt think this? We are''nt blooming rich (regardless of what some people may think). Considering players like Davenport are worth 3 mill, and we have much less than that, is it any wonder we havent signed anyone. Think before you post [:|]

Why is this 3mill Davenport constantly bandied around in defence of Grant or the Board not signing a CB? Its absolute rubbish to suggest we cant get one for less than that who would imo better the team. Players like Sodje at reading and Cahill at Villa to name a couple. Spin spin spin and it seems its paying off on some!!

the board arent showing the ambition yet to incline you will change, norwich at the moment are mid table side and no better until investment or very shrewd manager (v.hard to come by) comes in

Whether you do or don''t, you might like to consider the full redundancy payments, that would be due to him and his staff? On top of that, any new manager, would, almost certainly want to do things his way, wouldn''t he? More transfers in and out, cost?

I think that as far as potential goes, each season ours ebbs away. We end up with less money, less players and less success! I can always just see us being the same as we were before Worthy came and gave us those presious few seasons! Also Huck''s can''t play forever!

Where is our youth!?! No more big money youngsters - Eadie, O''Neil, Sutton etc... Except maybe Martin (If he can ever get a game!)

Surely we can buy some good players from the lower leagues? there must be something good we can afford - I''m Sure Otsemombor was not on his own down there!

I reckon that if the board do not give Grant their full £££ support then he should only be given until xmas, then the board need to get a high profile manager and the £££ to work his magic. If that doesn''t work then the board should call it a day and allow for new inverstors and direction....

Simple Arthur, because quality centre halves are not available for sensible money.

I really don''t know why you''re gushing so much about Sodje, signed from Brentford, and has managed a poxy 8 games since signing for Reading, only 3 of which were in the league and one of them was a sub appearance. If he was such top quality he''d have played more, because being fair, Reading aren''t renowned for having some of the finest defenders in the league. They even preferred the ageing and error prone Duberry to him...

As for Cahill, it''s not even realistic to suggest a permanent signing as this would likely run at a far higher cost than the likes of Davenport, leaving a loan option. Although I certainly can''t confirm it, I was advised that we did speak to Villa regarding a possible loan move, and that Cahill himself chose to go to Sheff Utd, hardly surprising as he was born there and has family and friends in the area.

You can''t blame Grant or the Board if players make a considered choice to go to another club, particularly when things such as location some into the equation. Even Dublin who is highly regarded by most fans was unsure about re-signing this season because his family are in the midlands.

It''s got nothing to do with Spin, and everything to do with hard financial facts. The board may have made errors, we may not have spent money as well as we should have over the last few seasons, but the finances in modern day football are killing it for teams outside the Prem.

Look at Leicester, they got their big money takeover by Mandaric, and what top quality, big money players have they signed??? They''re currently below us in the league (admittedly with a match in hand), have recently sacked the manager that Mandaric himself appointed, and certainly look no better than any other team in the league, despite the investment Mandaric has brought in.

The situation is crappy, we all know it is, but endless posts about clueless management or poor performance from the board is going to acheive nothing. The team is still very much in a transitional phase, from the crap we had under Worthy, going through Grant''s time so far, to his current squad. We have players to come back from injury, loan options to consider, and another transfer window in Jan that can be utilised as required. The time for malcontent and disgruntlement is not now, but in Feb, if we''re still in a poor league position, and seem to be making no effort to resolve this.

6 games in is nothing in the grand scheme of the league, and seeing as how we''re only 3 points off a playoff place, it''s ridiculous to dismiss our season already.

Comparisons with Leicester again hey???

Think they are far closer to turning a corner and challenging for a play-off place than we are INDY.

Yes they are one place below us, but that game in hand if they were to win it could take them up to 8th place in the league and if you look at their stats they have only lost one game all season as opposed to the 3 that we have lost (surely the 4 that we have lost by 5pm today).

As for your comment about we are only 3 points off a play-off place I really despair.... didn''t we hear this excuse week, after week, after week for the last two seasons from those of you who have chosen to sit in defence of poor management of the club from those in the boardroom???

We are only 3 points off, 6 points off, 9 points off, 10 points off, 12 points off a play-off place etc etc

Anybody with the first clue about what a decent football team looks like knows that we are a million miles away from challenging for a play-off place... and that the only area of the table that we should be concerning ourselves with under the current set up is looking over our shoulders to ensure that 3 clubs end up with less points than us each season.

I can''t argue with that Smudger.

While I always live in hope that we will do better than expected I believe realistically that we have far more chance of being in the bottom six than the the top six.

Far too many people believed the hype that we had a good transfer intake. Personally I can''t see where any of the new guys are better than what we had last year. Cureton and Russell may well be 100 per centers as far as Norwich is concerned but can anybody really say hand on heart that they are better quality than Earnie, Saff or Etuhu?

The club has been in decline for a while now and sadly we have not yet hit bottom.
