Sorry if I woke anyone up in the N & P today

Recommended Posts

Not living in the area anymore...and always bringing the Mrs and teenage kids to all games we attend at CR we generally take what we can get in the way of seats, even though we''re all members, we always seem to struggle to get anywhere other than Block H Jarrold or the Community Corner. However, for some unknown reason we had a bit of a choice for the Stoke game and plumped for the lower N & P, Area RL, just by way of a change.

I''m sorry if I offend any of my fellow supporters but is this area reserved for snooker spectators, anglers or the recently departed?... because despite a good performance and a great result, the lack of atmosphere in this part of the ground was terrible. Really frustrating to hear good noise from the Barclay, Snakepit Boys et al, the lot in our area could not be roused beyond a contented nod of the head and reserved clap. Just made me wonder how we made so much noise at Chelsea but cant raise the roof at home.

There should be competition from all sides of the ground to make the most noise...but sadly I dont think "We''re the N & P, we''re the N & P, we''re the N & P, Carrow Road" will ever hear a chorus. Back to Jarrold Block H for us and cant wait for Hull City away...

"Come on you Yellows!"

i`d rather call it the River End, but hey

im in the river upper with my dad (he didnt want the barclay, to boisteruis, hes 65)

in the past b4 i had a season ticket, the river end used to allways chant "Sing up the barcley" when things got quiet

Each to their own I suppose, and the Barclay noise is all too often targeted at the away supporters which isn''t everyone''s idea of vocal support but if you dont want to make any noise, or like boisterous people  whilst watching football, then perhaps the comfort of the armchair and TV is the best place. I grew up in the Barclay of the 70''s but much prefer the Barclay end of the Jarrold now, close to the away support and where the singing is directed at supporting our team.

Crowd support does make a big impact on team performance. It would be great to get this all around the ground, so in the immortal words of Delia..." We need a twelfth man...where are you? ...lets be ''aving you!" ...in the River End too.

The main problem is a large proportion of  Barclay A and B are very quiet.  There always seem a fair few ''singers'' in the Jarrold stand and corner infill, but not enough to make it comfortable to sing in these areas. I have spent a fair few games in these areas this season, inviting friends along and moving my ticket.

If we could somehow ship the current Barclay A and barclay B residents to a stand more becoming of their quiet needs (not going to happen) and fill it with those whom wish to sing from the other stands, I reckon you would get one hell of an atmosphere at Carrow Road.  The whole of the lower barclay would be in full voice!!  Its sorry to say but this aint gonna happen however.

The River End is full of left wing liberal hippies!

I sat there last season and I thought I could moan! It made going to football boring!

I now sit(stand) in E block of the Barclay where you can have a laugh and a good sing song!

WAKE UP THE RIVER END

i get the same thing. i live up in yorkshire and therefore i only go to a couple of games at home usually with me dad and me mum and we are members. but somehow we always end up in the jarrold stand which, apart from "kick it off" at the beginning is soo dull i actually feel like screaming. me and my mum love to sing at the games and get really frustrated when the most verbal soun coming from all areas of the norwich crowd minus the snakepit or the barclay is "your f****** useless". i thank the lord everytime we have a home sup tie because it means we might actually get a chance to sit in an area where some proper singing happens. come on fans, sort it out!!!

Hurray

Just bought our tickets for the West Brom Home game and we''re gonna try out the Thorpe Corner for a change, where the CR sales staff say "it gets a bit rowdy".

GOOD!

[/quote]They''d being their own guitars, maybe a few bongos, get a fire going and break out some green stuff... sounds like fun, but not sure the stewards would like it... [:)]

Presumably it is a contrast with right wing Mail on Sunday, Tebbitt loving,  Terry and June types who are well known for their raucous behaviour and spontaneous outpourings of " Who the #### are You"  amd "You''re Going Home in a ~~~~~~~~ Ambulance"

Is that where you sit then Cluck? What with all that "equality in the home and workplace, modern parenting" nonsense you were telling me about.

Great!...Looking forward to this banter being carried on across the ground on Easter Monday.

Provided the team keep the momentum going I think that everyone will be much more relaxed (not worrying about relegation) and the whole crowd can play its part in keeping a carnival atmosphere going for the last few games.
