Why, oh why, does he have to do it ? The piece on the '' Pink Un '' site this morning headlined " Doherty out to prevent a Rams raid " has, as usual, more than likely put the mockers on a home win tonight.

I know the media have to fill the space somehow but the player himself must have cottoned on by now and it''s all the same old re-gurgitated stuff about how , "we''ve found goals pretty hard to come by at home.........That''s something we''re definitely looking to get right ". You don''t say !

Perhaps the best bit is when he talks about Derby frontman, 15 goal Steve Howard. " I know what his game is all about," proclaims GD.......which roughly translated sounds to me like a racing certainty for the Derby man to score at some point over the 90 minutes.

Oh dear, oh dear...........and I was quite optimistic of a City win too. Never mind.

i was thinking the exact same thing, its like ''football manager''... as soon as you reply to one of the media things in the game youve lost the match before its begun!, its actually unbelievable the amount of times we lose when he comes out and says something..... and to think i was reasonably confident of a win tonite before this came out, haha!

never had that problem on the game.. u only lose if u say the wrong thing on Football manager... As for the Doc.. why do Archant Interview him every time?

 its always the same players! why cant we hear from shacks once in a while, or Safri? why is it always Hucks, doc or drury?

He seems to talk more to the press than he does on the pitch!!  Have we ever won when he has talked of revenge and the like??  I certainly can''t remembnre a post match interview when he has talked of his great feeling to have enacted what he prophesized...

Yeah, I hate to put our players down without good reason but I had a real groan when I saw this. Was beginning to wonder if it was even worth going tonight now that he''s said that.  Might stay and watch Champs League to save myself having to trudge up Ber Street in a really childish temper[:)].

This has become a bit of a running joke now hasnt it. Everytime he speaks out we lose, i just wish he would concentrate on his performance rather than building these expectations which he obviousl;y finds so hard to reach!
