How did the new boys play

Living in Dubai was unable to see the game,  so would appreciate your views on how the new lads played and looked?

A happy man with the win a real 6 pointer and we can all breathe a sigh of relief for tonight at any rate

Very well, Lappin looked impressive wanted the ball and had a sweet left foot , Fozzy was avarage first half but that was down to the midfield being to bunched and having little time on the ball .Second half he looked better as the midfield kept it''s shape a little better allowing Fozzy more room to pass the ball ,so all in all they look good buys with a bit of promise.

both looked like they will make a real contribution - they look skilful and comfortable on the ball - grant could be steering  city back to pass and move one touch stuff.

Both played well. Lappin was particularly good. I think he hit one bad cross but otherwise I don''t remember him putting a foot wrong for the whole game.

They look like two decent signings who prefered to pass than hoof,  early days yet but the signs look good.

I think barclayendboy sums it up really well for Lappin and Fozzy

Brown on the other hand looked lost, slightly disinterested and I''d rather see Martin starting. We looked better in the last 20 mins when he came on.

Agree with the above; both look very good prospects indeed. Lappin did really well; Fotheringham looked comfortable in possession but lacking in match-fitness. When Chadwick comes back, we might have the makings of a good midfield, and I never thought I''d hear myself say that this season.

Glad to hear some positive reaction re: new signings! Lets hope they keep it up, and Grant can add some more quality loans to the side!

The most impressive thing about both of them was that they actually wanted the ball and always made themselves available.

I also liked the fact that Fotheringham has a bit of passion about him. At one point in the 2nd half he made a great interception when Leeds were on a break and having cleared the ball he gave a really pumped up clenched fist. He also did this at the final whistle. One of the things the squad has been missing is a bit of passion and it was good to see.

Yes, I saw that as well, and it was most refreshing to see. It wasn''t a huge moment in the game, but it was a decent bit of play which broke up a Leeds attack, and it was great to see his reaction and see that he was really into the game and going for it.

Some players "Take time setteling in", ALA Robinson & Etuhu whos debuts were distinctley unremarkable when you consider they were loan players playing for a contract, but Fozzy & Lappin seemed to have setteled in straight away and both made good contributions.

I also feel a bit daft for agreeing with "something that Stevie Wonder saw!!!!"

Hi Stevie, I am not in the game but I think I get what you mean, have passion to play was more important than have skill to play, especially at this level. Let''s hope Fotheringham can give us some fair in midfield and we will be fine
