Jerzy Krukowski 5 Posted November 27, 2006 will be Fleming, Etuhu or Doc connecting the phrases "we''re all asgutted as the fans" , "honest group of lads", "we all need to pulltogether", "stand up and be counted" "greatest supporters in the world"into the same tired old tripe to fill the pinkun.I don''t want to hear it, if anyone''s listening from the club, pleasejust stop these appalling pre and post-no show interviews withplayers that seem only capable of standing up and being counted when itcomes to signing a contract. If you''ve got some honesty, stand up andsay why the team is cr*p and why you didn''t appear to try (yet again).
Regime Change 0 Posted November 27, 2006 I agree, this must be the most ineffective PR strategy that anybody has ever come up with.
jetstream 0 Posted November 27, 2006 The Club''s response to this kind of criticism is that they simply make players available for interview when asked and they do not tell them what to say.In other words it is up to Archant to ask for different players and ask different questions. Mind you, I dont suppose Safri would be too keen to talk at the moment and I suspect there are a set of regulars who will agree to be interviewed. Balance that against X number of column inches to be filled every day and you get the "We''ll bounce back"/"We''re Up For It!" type interviews. Can''t be easy for the journos either! Publish the wrong thing or get too close to the truth and you won''t get invited back I reckon the pinkun is a great paper on the whole.......but sometimes like others on here, I do wish they could be a little bit more aggressive with their questions. charlies dad 0 Posted November 27, 2006 Whilst at a well known local gym on Sunday, i spied a familiar figure at the bar, talking about the debalce of the day before. He shall remain nameless, but i cocked my ear (tricky) and had a little listen at what he had to say. The player in question repeated Grants mantra, i.e the supporters are a disgrace, and totally to blamre for the teams displays. Biting my tongue, i listened further. Eagle, apparently, was shaking visibly as he left the field at half time, his confidence destroyed by fickle supporters. At our indiscreet friends last club, the supporters would sing and dance uncontrollably even if their team was 3-0 down!! at this point i had a little chuckle, because his last club hasnt got any depth of support, the original 1 man and a dog crowd, despite outperforming bigger clubs.. ourselves included. Our reluctant hero concludes by adding, ''im out of here in January - should have gone in the summer'' On that point i concur. If this is an example of the mindset at Coney, God help us all. Huddy 0 Posted November 27, 2006 No, it was our fault because we scared Robinson into passing the ball to a norwich player or clearing it properly. REMEMBER!

REMEMBER!
Lol ah yes [;)]It always makes me laugh when I read posts from Norwich fans on various message boards defending the crap play and blaming it on a "bad atmosphere" - I''ve seen things, not only during the last few days but also during Worthy''s tenure, such as "The players aren''t playing well because they''re scared to make a mistake, which will get the crowd on their backs" and so on....THEY''RE BLOODY PROFESSIONALS!! They''re getting paid more in a couple of weeks than most if not all of us do in a year!! Christ, if they can''t handle it, then they should quit the bloody game which they ovbiously think they''re so good at.
Unlucky Fried Kitten 0 Posted November 27, 2006 I was fascinated by your anecdote about the player at the bar in a certain gym in Norwich, charlies dad. Would you say that this player who "will be glad to be out of here in January" will be missed by the club, or is he a total waste of space?
ZLF 335 Posted November 28, 2006 Ah - its fallen to Dion to make the rallying cry this time. How about a sweepstake next time?
sheded 0 Posted November 28, 2006
how about a name then?
Yes ! come on Charleys Dad , name him .... if he`s got that mentality , and wants out in Jan , then why protect him ? Ok , if you can`t bring yourself to say his name outright , then give us some clues to work on , like age , height, hair colour , last club , when he signed , position he plays , distinctive scars tattoos etc , vehicle he drives ..... etc [;)]The next time Grant gets interviewed one of the questions should go like this , " Excuse me Mr Grant , but I noticed in your previous club pics , that you had blonde hair ! " [8-)] http://www.peter-grant.co.uk/ Check out the song , " The best is yet to come ", lets hear it sung over the tannoy [:$]
Robbie Boy 0 Posted November 28, 2006 Assuming that the local well known gym is the same colour as grass and being a member of selfsame gym so used to seeing certain players there and looking at the clues, it has to be Cap''n Clapper with the loud bar stool opinions
