Alex Harvey-Jones 0 Posted October 4, 2006 Now for those of you who think Andy Hughes is the worst footballer to have ever graced Carrow Road, did you actually watch Peter Thorne when he came on for Dublin on sunday?? I don''t think he won a single header despite being a so-called target man and his hold up play and passing was truly shocking. I really don''t see the point of putting him on - I think he did more harm than good beacuse the ball kept coming straight back when it was played towards him. Surely Jarvis would have been a much better bet?! I think we need to let Thorne go in January because he doesn''t add anything to the team in any capacity. Ok he may be useful for the odd cup game but for the league he is well off the required standard!
Alex Harvey-Jones 0 Posted October 6, 2006 To be honest I''m not sure if Thorne isn''t close to being the worst Norwich player ever having seen him on sunday!
Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted October 6, 2006 One of the greatest conundrums for me isn''t so much that Hughes gets stick (I don''t agree with him getting abuse) but that Thorne gets off scot free when he does nothing. Hughes at least gives his all, Thorne''s attitude stinks. He would be the first player I would put out of the door if i could.
silver fox 0 Posted October 6, 2006 Don''t worry because when Worthy gets his new appointment hopefully he will try and get Fleming, Doherty, Hughes, Robinson, Thorne and Dublin to come and join him. With the exception of Fleming, the remainder are all players he was absolutely delighted to bring to Norwich. It has to be a toss up between Thorne and Coney, although Dublin wouldn''t be too far behind.
Rasputin was a C... 0 Posted October 7, 2006 Absolutely spot on. The man was hopeless on Sunday. His first touch was crap, his second touch was crap, his passing was crap, his hold up play was crap, his attempts to head the ball were crap (I say his attempts as he didn''t actually get to head the ball he was that poor) he went down more easily that Christiano Ronaldo it was embarrassing. He has to follow Worthington out of the door pretty sharpish.
whoops brigadier 0 Posted October 7, 2006 I really could`nt see much difference when Thorne replaced Dublin. They are both immobile and a very long way past their best.

I think if Dublin gets fully match fit he will be able to add something to the team but only coming off the bench - he shouldn''t be starting!
XXL16 0 Posted October 7, 2006 I watched the whole game and saw Thorne came on, his touch was poor and very slow, even slower than Dion! Terrible! But BTW, was he match-fit?
EadiesRight Foot 0 Posted October 7, 2006 Agreed, Thorne is useless. But when he comes on, why does he come on and play in FRONT of Earnie (i.e. last man) ? This totally negates Earnies qualities - pace, staying on the last shoulder of the defender, chasing the flick ons and through balls. He is dead wood, Jarvis should be gutted that this player is standing in the way of his development as a player.
WHITE VAN MAN 0 Posted October 7, 2006 His first touch was crap, his second touch was crap, That seems a tad unfair, i can''t remember seeing him get a second touch
Cluck 0 Posted October 7, 2006 Worthington was trying to re-ignite the partnership they had at Cardiff.......Good theory and it might have worked out.......a la MacDougall and Boyer........but surely he had had Thorne watched a few times before blindly signing him.Maybe the club scouts were on a ''bung''?.......funnier things have happened...alledgedly....[:#]
