Thorup needs to stick to his principles otherwise

Recommended Posts

Unless he adopts his youth mantra, sticking with Dads Army at the back will see the club relegated with a whimper.  We have always recognised a team including Duffy, Hanley and Mclean is not going to improve the club, yesterday only reinforced that inevitability.  Thorup has joined the club with reputation of giving youth its opprtuntity.  Whether or not we have players in our academy for his plans to succeed is questionable, but they have we have currently at our disposal.  Thorup needs to coach these youngsters so that they can improve the promise they must have shown.

He can start by getting rid of Duffy and Hanley, and replace with Hills who I understand has shown promise and move Doyle to CB.  Doyle looked lost at LB he must have some ability.  To continue with these two aging losers will lead to the fans looking for his head sonner than later.  However if the fans see he is trying to get the most out of the teams younger players we might just see a plan and give him some time to turn the clubs fortunes around.

Don't expect to see results or performances to improve in the short term there will be pain possibly severe and terminal.  But at the moment Thorup is the only option for the club going forward until we get someone who can the work the miracle to turn this club around with no funds we need to give him time.  If we see he is trying he will be given time.

Filling the whole first team full of lads with no first team experience in the second tier is what you do if you want to be languishing in the relegation places. Developing players doesn’t mean simply chucking them into a struggling side and watching them get tonked every week in front of an irate fan base

The team we put out yesterday will look significantly different in a few weeks time. Cordoba and Chrisene will definitely be involved, and we can expect at least 2 new first team additions before the end of the transfer window. On the plus side Forson looked an excellent addition; that was quite a remarkable second half cameo given he has been at the club just one day. The time to wet pants is not now.

In my view, he needs to ditch his principles immediately.  He can’t play the football he did in Denmark and we can’t afford the players to make 4-3-3 work.  We need to fight our way out of this league, with strength, pace and directness.

Same for Knapper, tippy tappy works with hugely talented kids in games with nothing at stake.

They need to wake up, and we need to win matches.

Suddenly the next two league matches look incredibly difficult! Blackburn looked rampant on Friday and if the Ipswich target is still available for them then one shudders at the prospect. I note that said player did not refuse to play in order to try and engineer a move. The boy Rowe should take note and hang his head in shame.

Then the old enemy come to town with a manager who just loves to beat us at FCR! If there is one club you can't afford to be 'off the pace' against, it's them and their vociferous anti canary support.

It would help if the oldies actually looked as though they care.

Yeah we're not getting a manager in on the basis of his style of play then making him change it after 90 minutes. If you disagree with the style, fair enough but let's be realistic here.
