Yobocop’s Big Post of the Week: Matchday routines

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow Canaries!

Welcome to this week's edition of the Big Post of the Week. This time, let's dive into our cherished match day routines. It's amazing how unique and special each of our routines can be, so I'm excited to hear your stories!

1. **Wake-Up Time:** Do you set that alarm extra early on match days, or do you enjoy a leisurely morning?

2. **Lucky Items:** Do you have any lucky charms or clothing you wear without fail on match days? Tell us your superstitions!

3. **Special Breakfast:** Some of us swear by a specific match day breakfast. What's on your plate?

4. **Pre-match Meetup:** Where and when do you rendezvous with your fellow Canaries before the game? Share your favorite meetup spots!

5. **Seat Time:** What time do you usually get to your seat? Any pregame rituals you perform while waiting for kick-off?

6. **Favorite Pregame Moment:** Is there a particular pregame moment that always gets you pumped up? Share your favorite memory!

7. **Food and Drink:** Do you indulge in Carrow Road's offerings, or are you a bring-your-own-food-and-drink type of fan?

8. **Post-Match Rituals:** What do you do after the match ends? Whether it's celebrating a win or consoling each other after a loss, let's hear it!

I can't wait to read your responses and discover the unique traditions that make our match days special. It's these little things that bind us together as Canaries supporters. Share away, and let's celebrate the Norwich City spirit!

Yours in Yellow and Green,
Yobocop

I hate to be pedantic (well, TBH I love to be pedantic) but surely unless you set your alarm early, you can’t have a leisurely morning as you have less time to get ready?

Always use the same turnstile  ( sometimes it works, sometimes not ) . I have three green and yellow scarves, only wore one once at CR, we lost so never again, back when I used to go away always wore one.

I still wear a rather fetching yellow and green striped t shirt purchased from Next 34 years ago. It's in remarkably good condition.

I get to my seat at 2.45 and have a filled roll containing an Archers sausage and pickle as a pre match snack, along with the obligatory flask of coffee.

Set the alarm early. Go to work. Swear about the traffic on the way home. Find someones decided to chance it by parking in my permit area stealing all the spaces so end up parking in my friends drive. I generally wear my green  and yellow Hawaiian shirt. No idea how lucky it is. Quick pint in the pub. Get to my seat 2.57ish just as the teams are coming out.

Stay in my seat at half time. The food is ridiculously overpriced and there's not time to enjoy a beer. Plus then I'd miss the zorbs which was often the highlight of the afternoon.

Back to the pub after the game to celebrate/moan about the game with fellow supporters over a couple of beers.

Fairly standard I'd say. Nothing too exciting or unusual.

Bacon sandwich brunch, pre match sesh in the pub, always same turnstile, get in ground a fraction before kickoff, halftime beer at rapid pace, post match back to the pub for a couple of hours, then chips, then taxi home, join in the Pinkun Post match meltdown. Hangover.

The football is often incidental tbh, I love it!

Name and shame the drinking establishment you frequent

were you the guy on radio norfolk the other week being interviewed about your Hawaiian shirt?

The Rose (the one on the corner of City Road)

I wasn't interviewed. It must've been someone else with great taste in shirts!

Sadly not.  Work most Saturday mornings so away games are a rarity. The last one was Derby midweek when Lampard was in charge there.

I don't have any match day routines to speak of, but I am thoroughly enjoying your Big Posts of the Week and this one is the best so far. Keep up the good work.

P.S. Couldn't you find a picture of Yobo in a Norwich shirt?

Thank you

I’ll see if I can dig one out
