Injury updates- Omobamidele still injured, Idah + Byram back

Recommended Posts

Andrew had a sore ankle but saw the game out. We’ll nurse him back and won’t let him train until Thursday. “Other than that everyone came through the Millwall game okay.

Byram trained over the weekend so I expect him to be in the line-up on Tuesday. “Idah has trained and isn’t ready to start but can come on for minutes.

Sara needs minutes and is starting to get better in training. He will put himself forward to play."

Sounds like quite a good time to have a League Cup match. A chance to get Byram back out there, who I think could be awesome for us this season. Idah getting minutes will be useful and it's a handy opportunity for Sara to stake a claim for a starting berth.

Thanks for the update , I think it will be about getting minutes into legs idah, Byram, Sara , and give tomkinson a game and gunny , gibbo, and hugill a run out too, who says being in the cup is a bad thing?

I would like to have rested Max really , shame we haven't brought in cover for LB yet as Byram needs to play there.

I'd give Pukki another match on the bench to really get over over the injury. Hugill start, with Idah coming on later.

Sara needs to start to get some minutes under his belt as there's a lot of competition for midfield.

It might be sensible to play Pukki, hopefully get him into some form.

Your probably right now, to play pukki in a carabao cup game which in the past would have been seen to be absolute ridiculous, but I think he needs it , when sargent over takes you as the main striker you know things are ****

Or Sargent has taken over due to Pukkis injury and when back to full fitness Pukki will be back to being our number one striker.

But yes, playing him against Bournmouths B team is a good way to see how he does

You gotta go with Hugill, despite his pre-season he seems to have fallen rock bottom and didn't look his usual bubbly self Friday night.  A rest will not hurt Pukki in the slightest, he's carried a lot of weight at this club.  20-30 mins at the end would be ideal, perhaps?

That said, it would also be a nice opportunity to see if Sara & Pukki gel.  Can see that Nunez is capable of those cheeky balls, you'd hope Sara is too.

I'd certainly expect Gunn, Byram, Sara and Pukki to start. Not sure where that leaves Hugill though.

I expect it'll be something like

Gunn

Aarons/McLean

Gibson

JT

Byram

Sara

Ramsey

Gibbs/Nunez

Hugill/Pukki

Then two from Rashica, Onel, Cantwell, Dowell, Sinani.
