wcorkcanary 4,337 Posted January 20, 2022 The lowest Fifa ranked team ever to qualify for the AFCON finals, have just qualified for knockout stages by beating Tunisia 1 nil with a screamer in 93rd minute.. They have 7 points , not quite winning the group but what an achievement for a nation of under 2- million. 4

Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 3,836 Posted January 20, 2022 Comoros getting through the group is probably the bigger underdog story though, to be fair. Gambia may be 150th and Comoros 132nd, but Comoros were 198th ten years ago, they are the smallest nation to ever qualify for the AFCON in terms of population and needed to beat Ghana in the final group game, which they did. Gambia is three times bigger than Comoros and they do have a couple of Serie A regulars in the side, whereas Comoros don't have anyone of any note. Gambia, however, do have a former Norwich player of course!

Budapest Canary 152 Posted January 21, 2022 Elsewhere in the AFCON, Kei Kamara seems to be in trouble after missing a crucial penno against Equatorial Guinea for Sierra Leone. He's only 37, without club, should put a cheeky bid in for him? https://www.allsoccer.co.uk/news/police-stops-angry-sierra-leone-fans-from-destroying-the-property-of-kei-kamara-after-he-missed-a-penalty-against-equatorial-guinea/
