Is it time to use the noise

Recommended Posts

A Webber mantra is ignore the noise. Meaning to block out things you cannot control such as the media coverage etc..

I just think with the amount of rubbish throw at us from the media just off the top off my head the Sunday times article, sporting integrity gate, let alone we are always on the wrong end of all decisions plus the COVID issues top 6 team would have played either the Villa or Palace games.

Is it not time to try and create an us against the world mentality no likes us we don’t care, referee always favour the opponent rather than little old Norwich. Pretty sure you could start the idea that there is a conspiracy theory against us pretty easily. Might just create the spirit we need to stay up because personally I would love it if we stayed up and keep stinking out the premiership.

Yep, seige mentality - us against the world. Like it. Of course for that to happen you would have to get those fans that tend to prefer doom mongering to buy into that, which would be difficult, but it's a good idea.

Te mantra ought to be "**** the media, **** the Premier League, we're here because we deserve to be and stuff what anyone else says".

I just feel a change in narrative would do us good at the moment the narrative is that we simply can’t complete at this level and we are going down with a whimper.

If I were Smith I would try to call out the media, ref, var, pundits, other clubs and try to foster a team spirit that way. Changing the narrative to we are not staying up because no one wants a self funded regional club who try to develop there own players and have used a good chunk of money to develop facilities to help that goal.

I think we are already of the mentality that it's our ideas against the rest of the Prem, and we do give the proverbial middle finger to the league. That's where it ends though. We stop well short of actually proving we can be of that mentality and still compete, sticking it to the others in the league by actually giving them a game and getting some points. I'd love us to shut the hating media etc up, but the only way to do that would be to perform on the pitch. Then, and only then, will the ethos we want to live by look commendable.

A siege mentality is one thing, but fostering some sort of conspiracy theory that everyone hates us and that referees are all biased in favour of whoever it is we’re playing is just a bit silly.
