hepphep 175 Posted March 17, 2019 The plot thickens, as clearly Pukki has not been putting the ball into net lately because he wants to focus on getting more assists. Maybe it is not enough for him to dominate the goal scoring charts, but he also aims to be number one of the league in assists as well! At least he is nearing the top of the league with assists as well, being now only 2 behind from the top spot. 😉
Herman 11,135 Posted March 17, 2019 I think we'd all love him to break the scoring record.
wcorkcanary 4,780 Posted March 17, 2019 Didn't he have a little blip just before last international break , score for Finland then return and score something like 8 in 8? Same again then please.

Not hoping it happen through similar two week injury now though. edit: actually that didn't happen during previous international break, but before that. To quote all striking experts ' he's getting chances.....and that's what matters, sooner or later he'll scuff one in and the previous couple of games will be forgotten'. The real surprise for me about pukki is how cool a customer he is, totally committed, but tempers his and others aggression with a rueful smile and a shrug of the shoulders. splendidrush 720 Posted March 17, 2019 He doesn't look that quick but he chased a through ball on Saturday that he had no right to reach, outstripped the defender to get a shot away, he's a handful and he'll be amongst the goals again soon.
Ian 1,208 Posted March 17, 2019 How good would it be if he topped the goal scoring AND the assists chart? (Btw, is says he's only 1 assist off the top on the chart I looked at, probably wrong though)
AJ 1,358 Posted March 18, 2019 Pukki, despite not scoring, has still been excellent in the last few games. His playing style is very hard to defend against and he’s still racking up the assists
Jim Smith 2,604 Posted March 18, 2019 His running, movement and all round game remains outstanding but in terms of finishing he's had a bit of a mare in the last 3 games. I'm not worried about it as all changes have streaks of scoring and then the odd barren spell and as others have said he's still getting in great positions. one goal will probably result in another scoring streak but in the last 2 games he could quite easily have had 2 hat-tricks if he'd finished some of the quality chances he has had. Funny you should think that as I've always thought Pukki does look quick. He's one of those with 'deceptive' pace. Takes him a while to get there but once he does...
