Feedthewolf 5,885 Posted November 21, 2018 I can still smell the waft of breaded seafood as I ascend the stairs to the River Upper. I believe it to be the aroma of scampi, but I am not an expert in such matters.

keelansgrandad 6,680 Posted November 21, 2018 Owing to the decline of fish stocks, British chefs including Heston Blumenthal and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall launched a "Fish Fight" campaign in 2010, attempting to raise awareness of alternative seafoods. They championed scampi and other lesser-known seafood dishes as a more sustainable source of protein. Looks like the fame of Scampi is little known with top culinary experts whereas it is always on the menu at Carrow Road.
TIL 1010 5,246 Posted November 21, 2018 Waveney was getting quite indignant last season when scampi was replaced by cod goujons several times.

Walk up the steps to the River Upper on a matchday and you'll see (smell) what I mean. Definitely some kind of fried seafood, and smells a lot like scampi to me. TIL 1010 5,246 Posted November 22, 2018 If it is just a smell of scampi Wolfie you must be following someone up the stairs who has just been in The Gunn Club and had a portion for lunch as i think it is only available in there.

Mr Apples 1,407 Posted November 23, 2018 My god, are we still serving scampi? if we had any ambition at all we would be serving popcorn crayfish tails with heirloom potato strings. Club's a joke. Apples
