ca 1 Posted January 21, 2004 Hi Away Day Specialist,Your post caught my eye because my hubby was born in Brackley and the Plough was his local too.He also used to play for Brackley Town Football Club a long time ago, dont know if you were ever involved in the club. Also you posted a thankyou to me after Xmas saying that you had been away but kept up with the news by reading my ongoing commentary re the Hucks situation.Just wanted to say thankyou for the compliment, have changed my name on here, but you can probably fiqure out who I am now. Chip20 69 Posted January 22, 2004 Wow; small world. I lived in Brackley from 1986 to 1995 and studied at Magdalen College School. Thought I was the only supporter in town, so rarely wore my NCFC shirts. Wonder if I''d recognise any names?
Away Day Specialist 0 Posted January 22, 2004 City Angel,No I wasn''t involved with the Brackley mens team, went to a few of the games though as a spectator. Nice little ground - better than most. I did coach the under-15 team for the school (Magdalen). The only football I managed to play was on returning to Norwich every so often to ''guest'' in one of my mates Sunday teams. Was in the plough watching England Vs Argentina, not the recent 1-0, but the time they did us - when Owen scored that wonder goal. Was a quality little pub, surely the best in the town.PS. I did think that you had moved to the NCFC official board but its good to know that you are stiil on the Pink.Richard,I started teaching at MCS just after you left so you may not have known me! Younger brothers or sisters might. Oh no my shady past might be coming back to haunt me!
Horatio Nelson 0 Posted January 22, 2004 I find it surprising that this many Norwich supporters have connections with Brackley, that''s why my original posting covered MK and Northampton. The only worrying point is that you have all moved away and I am still there, what do you know that I don''t !!!Away Day Specialist - my wife and sister in law work at MCS. Sister in law was there during your time and I am in the process of finding out if she remembers a maths teacher who moved to Guildford. ''Oh no my shady past might be coming back to haunt me!'' may not be far from the truth. Any of you ''locals'' on this thread going to the Wimbledon game, it might be interesting to meet up. Away Day Specialist 0 Posted January 23, 2004 Horatio,Riddled with the air of disapointment if your sister in law and wife cannot remember me, the though of having no impact on anyone over the four years spent there led me to thinking of clues for you. Unmasking myself seemed like an unwise option , especially when the cries of who! still ring out.I played a crucial and pivotal role in two of the pantomimes (performed at the Wassail evening as I''m sure you know)i) In Indiana Jones and the Temple of Isis I was the front end of the camel - (1998)ii) In Sprott of the Antarctic I was the Penguin (at last a solo role for my talent) - (1999)Taught in M2 in the new building. Was quite suprised in the follow-up to the Brackley them, thought that I was the only one when I was there. It seemed such a long way from Carrow.
Horatio Nelson 0 Posted January 23, 2004 ADS - My sister in law had a couple of possibles as to who you might be, but wasn''t sure without a name. I will pass on the extra clues. You may remember her, she used to patrol the crossing at the top of the high street. Will you be at the Wimbledon game ?Grindstar - Whereabouts will you be for the Wimbledon game ? I will be behind the goal with my 12 year old son.
