1. McNally to fans: "I''d prefer death than relegation. There is nothing more important than keeping this great football club in the Premier League. We would do anything we can to support the club in that aim" Conrad did very well to probe McNally. McNally could have easily said at any point "we''re not sacking Chris" but he didn''t. He maintained that football depends on results, which says to me that he will make a change of manager if the bad results continue.
2. On Paul Lambert - "He walked out on our football club, let''s not forget that. He obviously thought Aston Villa was a bigger football club and that''s his decision. We''re very grateful for the 3 years he have us as manager" On Norwich season - "Performances haven''t been good enough, results haven''t been. The brief to Chris is to keep us out of the bottom three and to move us up the table. And that hasn''t changed... We would not contemplate relegation. Too many people have worked for too long to put our club in the Premier League"
3. McNally: Results are the only thing that matter, and whether Chris or indeed I myself have a long term future here is dictated by results.
4. I reckon this should do it:
5. I think we''re doing this the right way. We''re not overpaying, we''re getting hungry players, and out of our current 5 signings, one is Garrido who has already been with us for a year, one is a 3rd choice keeper, one is a 19 year old, I don''t think Olsson isn''t going to come and categorically replace anyone - he will be a squad player, and Wolfswinkel is in as much needed fire-power. It does make me a bit sad, however, that the team that did the hard work in getting us promoted into the premier league is dwindling away - with only Ruddy, R. Martin and Hoolahan left in the first team picture. A necessary progression, but sad nonetheless.
6. I''m a bit upset that this isn''t on the front page of BBC Sport
7. Whoops - not trying to claim that that is our ''new'' squad. Just listing Hughton''s signings - very exciting.
8. Very, very exciting times. Hughton is very much making his own squad, comprised of great signings on his behalf - Bunn, Whitakker, Bassong, Turner, Garrido, Olsson, Tettey, Snodgrass, Redmond, Wolfswinkel, Becchio, Butterfield, and there seem to be a couple more great additions in the pipeline. Massive.
9. Also, good (and necessary) competition for Pilks at LM. Very pleased.
10. I''m still a massive fan of not actually having a song, and instead just having the entirety of Carrow Road wolf-howling. That sounds glorious.
11. Can I just point out that Aston Villa are doing a German tour, playing unheard of German league 2 teams (SV Rodinghausen, SC Paderborn and the almighty VfL Bochum), and then their pre-season consists of: Wycombe Wanderers, Luton, Crewe, Walsall, Shamrock Rovers, and finally one decent game against Malaga.
12. Far too early. The transfer window doesn''t even officially open until July 1st, and we''ve already acquired two great additions in RvW and Garrido.
13. Definitely Bunn. Show some loyalty to the lad. Plus, we don''t want Arsenal or any other club for that matter remembering how good Ruddy is for the summer transfer window!
14. On the subject of Andy Carroll, this is pure comedy gold. His genuine bebo page: http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=4957197631
15. I call dibs. Future prospect for Norwich http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22159403
16. Personally I would eventually also like another confident CB, and to sort out the LB position. Garrido has been good in general but has had his off days, he loses the ball an awful lot, and can''t seem to be able to clear it very effectually. And we don''t really have an alternative in Tierney. For me, Surman hasn''t proven himself to be a Premier League player and it would be better for his career to be playing regular football in Championship, I would gather that the two new wingers would mean the end of him at Norwich. The club is very well run and I have great confidence in whoever is brought in - the facts are that at the end of last season it was obvious we needed to sort out the defence, and we definitely have done that. Then, in January, we needed to sort out the attack, and so brought in Kamara, Becchio and now RvW. A real sign of intent. Things are only looking up from here.
17. Oh, didn''t realise the html codes aren''t necessary. Whoops! The "attacking midfielder" could well be Marco Van Ginkel?
18. Van Wolfswinkel refers to Norwich as ambitious several times and Voetbal ask him to explain how he knows they will move forward, he says that''s because he''s been informed that other players are coming in. "The intention is that the club in the coming months will also capture an attacking midfielder and two wide players. I recently went to see things for three days in Norwich and the conversations I had with the manager and what the technical director claimed were decisive." Very positive atmosphere around the club at the moment - if we beat Wigan morale will be sky high Full story here: http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/two-wingers-and-a-midfielder-wolfswinkel-reveals-norwich-city-s-t
