  1. Meanwhile : " Testifying under oath and on camera, John Sullivan, the U.S. deputy secretary of state, said that Rudy Giuliani was involved in a smear campaign to oust the ambassador to Ukraine, publicly confirming a key part of the saga behind the impeachment inquiry "
  2. Free tuition at public universities - as done in Germany, or minimal tuition for Science & Technology subjects - like €2,000 per year in Holland : the country can afford it; and the country needs to do it to create the skilled workforce it needs to compete globally. And doing that will help the housing market and the general economy too - as money not spent on repaying tuition loans can be spend somewhere else.
  3. Not irrelevant. It's a fact. So what are you going to do about it - Have a hard border between Eire and N.Ireland like before we entered the EU. Have a sea / air border between the Island of Ireland and the Island of Britain. Have no border, which puts N.Ireland on the way to political integration with Eire. Have the entire UK stay in a Customs Union with the EU.
  4. Update: So the testimony from Ukraine born Lt. Col Alexander Vindman - who was a direct witness to the phone call - has had three four outcomes: - Fox News and some Republicans have been accusing Vindman of being a spy and / or "dual loyalties" https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/lawmakers-both-sides-decry-attacks-lt-col-vindman-shameful-despicable-n1073381 - His testimony directly contradicted that of Ambassador Sunland, who could now face perjury charges. . https://theweek.com/speedreads/874993/former-special-counsel-thinks-alexander-vindman-gordon-sondland-deep-deep-legal-trouble - His testimony places recently resigned Energy Secretary Rick Perry directly into one of the meetings. https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/29/nsc-official-testimony-ukraine-perry-061244 as well as : - https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/salvadorhernandez/vindman-trump-call-white-house-ukraine-transcript-missing It seems that the "word for word, exact transcript" of the call provided by the White House may have left out some important details.
  5. As it involves national security and it's evidence gathering these depositions are being taken in a secure room (which means it's in the basement of the Capitol Building, you at least got that part right) and "in private", as all such indictment phase investigations would be. However it's not in secret, there are 48 Republican Representatives who sit on the respective committees that can attend these hearings; if they choose not to do that, well that is up to them. In fact of the 30 who "stormed" the room in protest over "being excluded" , 14 sit on the respective committees... and several have been sitting in the sessions, so spare me the crocodile tears.
  6. I see the Fascist wing is out with “drain the swamp” slogans and propaganda already. Do they not have a single original idea or will they just run a Donald Trump 2016 style campaign again - no matter, I know the answer. Problem is the swamp has not been drained, And it can’t be given the creatures he has put into his administration, the advantage is the UK can see who is in Boris’ government already. Elect the Tories and you can also look to the US for a preview of the political, environmental and fiscal vandalism they will bring along with them. Over to you guys....
  7. Latest: US Army officer on White House Staff who heard the President’s Ukraine call to speak to Congress tomorrow “out of sense of duty”
  8. It was the Harbaugh-bowl - Jim head coach for the 49ers and John head coach for the Ravens. I don't think Callahan was ever a coach for the Ravens, he was once a head coach for the Raiders and now the Redskins.
  9. Boris Johnson will abandon attempts to push his Brexit bill through this parliament in a bid to get the Liberal Democrats and the SNP to agree to an election before Christmas, although the parties are still in dispute over the potential date. Screw that .. the appropriate thing for the opposition parties to do is to force debates on what has been put by the government before Parliament. All of the details have to come out, expose what the Tories are prepared to vote for... Don't let them off the hook to rush to the country with the message "only we can get Brexit done"
  10. .... let's see how the Ravens do against the Patriots on Sunday night. Pretty well apparently 🙂 (Even broken clocks are right twice a day)
  11. I'm still predicting Saints v's Ravens, but those 49er's did look impressive today even though Jimmy is still not at 100% yet. An awesome defense and key injured players still to come back too.
  12. https://www.rawstory.com/2019/10/watch-trumps-face-change-once-he-realizes-world-series-crowd-is-chanting-lock-him-up/#.XbZhddLXUrs.twitter one more ... then back to the news, distractions are just that.
  13. Well that went well 🙂 after his 45 minute rant about his wisdom and bravery and how wonderful the Russians were to hep the USA eliminate Baghdahdi this morning - - expecting a hero’s welcome at the Washington Nationals baseball game ... the veterans that he brought with him got a standing ovation, but the President got a very different reception.... https://amp.theguardian.com/sport/2019/oct/27/donald-trump-booed-world-series-lock-him-up-chants-baseball?utm_term=Autofeed&CMP=twt_gu&utm_medium=&utm_source=Twitter&__twitter_impression=true
  14. IMO we need to swap Leitner and McLean's positionally. Kenny is not a playmaker, and Leitner works better playing deeper.
  15. If Leitner Plays advanced mid and McClean defensive mid with Tetttey I fear we lose 0-2, swap those positions and I predict we win 2-1.
  16. Quite brilliant how Leeds managed to win the Championship two years in a row, they must be waiting for their 50,000 capacity upgrade to be finished before they grace the PL on the TV.
  17. Because if we were we’d have to live in the shadow of mighty Huddersfield....
  18. Good on wee Alex. Coming back from 0-2 down to win 3-2 and second in the Championship....
  19. Yes, Labour continues to be the grown ups in the room. It's a shame the Conservatives have lost all credibility as a party interested in sound administration of the country and the rule of law. Labour very good at pushing Boris into these public episodes of anti-democratic behavior ... if there was a serious press there'd be a better chance the public understands what he's doing ... p.s. I have never voted for Labour, but do respect their consistent position over Brexit terms.
