  1. So let''s get this right.......... The players that the fans are happy to have remained at Norwich aren''t happy to be here..... .....and the players that the fans are unhappy to be at Norwich are more than happy to still be here, whilst picking up over-inflated wages and without having to put in a decent shift come Saturday/ Tuesday..... .......that is apart from Naismith, who is probably more in tune with the fans than anyone else in the squad because he isn''t happy to be here and neither are the fans happy that he remains......
  2. Having just listened to the interview on the radio, I thought Moxey spoke very well. That doesn''t detract from the fact that we are left with a helluva lot of dead wood in the squad, have sent out useful talent on loan, and now have a set of forwards who collectively, will be unlikely to out score any other set of forwards in the Championship.
  3. So how long was it between when you first heard that Newcastle were interested in Murphy and the news that he had actually signed? 24 hours? Maybe 48 hours at most? Just amazing that a club can target a goal-scoring striker and then sign him in such a short space of time. There was me thinking that these ''striker deals'' took at least four weeks to complete.....
  4. Negredo -Stuani - Nugent - Rhodes At least Boro are giving themselves a chance of scoring goals and maintaining their PL status.
  5. So who exactly are the stand-out characters on the pitch to offer leadership when the chips are down, or who can inspire their team-mates to find a little bit extra? Martin is out of the picture and the captaincy currently lies with Howson. If his after-match interviews are anything to go by, he couldn''t inspire a lemming to jump off a cliff edge. With the squad starting to be filled with youth, it is not the best time for an apparent lack of leaders on the pitch.
  6. Jeez!....let''s not overplay the ''played for the European Champions'' card.... He''s played once for Portugal in the past 3 years. The scepticism coming from some supporters is born by how we have ended up with Oliveira. Of the many dozens of strikers suggested by posters on this site this past few months, I can''t imagine Oliveira was amongst them. The biggest frustration is the impression that the club has been working down a long list of strikers and are ending up a last minute panic buy. Since hitting the jackpot with Holt nigh on seven years ago, Norwich have an appalling record on buying strikers, with one decent Championship season from Jerome being the one and only highlight. This period has been littered with the likes of Morison, Vaughan, Becchio, Lafferty and, worst of all, RVW. The one advantage for Oliveira is that going by recent years, the striker bar isn''t set very high.......
  7. If his career goal-scoring stats won''t get any pulses racing, then his assist record will have you positively comatose......1 in 29. I bet he gets booked more often than that.......
  8. 1 in 6 is not my definition of a good goal-scoring CF. Norwich should be looking for a 20+goals-a-season striker, which is slightly better than 1 in 3. Norwich would be just as well-off throwing Lafferty into the fray, rather than trawling agents''lists in dire desperation.
  9. HITC Sport claim Norwich have agreed a deal with Benfica. We need a ''goal scorer'' and not a ''handful''.
  10. Linked with Norwich.... Jeez....this is scraping the barrel. One goal every six games.....one assist every twenty-nine games. Please, no.
  11. Pinto provided the width and pass from a winger''s position for City''s goal. Whittaker provided more attacking threat than any other player in the second-half. We don''t need wingers if the full-backs are under instruction to get forward and overlap. If we play wingers then there is little need for the full-backs to pass the half-way line.
  12. If we are setting up with attacking/overlapping fullbacks ( Brady/ Olsson/Pinto) who are actively encouraged to join in attacks, then wingers are pretty much superfluous. If we are to play with wingers, then the fullbacks will just have to sit back and defend. There is little point in having both options at the same time.
  13. After the initial 10-15 minutes, Norwich exerted complete control of the first-half of the match ( other than Murphy having Klose completely in his pocket). Despite the dominance, the second goal never really looked like coming, and conceding the sloppy goal with some poor covering at the far post, couldn''t have come at a worse time. Despite Ipswich coming out for the second-half reinvigorated, the match became bereft of any quality, with the final result certainly more satisfying for Ipswich supporters than for Norwich''s.
  14. It''s comforting to know that players visit this site......realise they are under-performing....and subsequently pull their finger out.....
  15. Not for the first time, the performance of Jonny Howson appears to split opinion. According to ''Ian'', "As soon as Mulumbu came on, Howson was able to push forward and influence the game and we looked more coherent." (I failed to see any cohesion in the second-half performance) ''vos'' thought that "(Howson)........was more or less non-existent". ''Indy_Bones'' believed that "Tettey got stuck in.........which was far better than Howson who had a totally anonymous game". I agree with the latter two, and more often or not believe that his influence on games is thoroughly underwhelming. Is it possible that Pritchard could be a more exciting alternative to Howson, or now that he is captain does it make him undroppable?
  16. ''Howson was able to ...........influence the game...........'' Well that is a bold statement! I hadn''t realised he was on the pitch....... .......either half.......
  17. So what has happened to Pritchard to miss out on today''s squad?
  18. Terrific performance and excellent result aside.... ....I thought the new kit looked top dollar.......
  19. If the ultimate reason we were able to sign Pritchard was because he got stuck in a traffic jam, then it suggests our transfer dealings/negotiations are at an unparalleled level of ineptitude.
  20. It looks like every penny of spare cash went into the contract extensions for Dorrans, Turner and Whittaker. Three of the most game-changing signatures this club has obtained over the past thirty years.......
  21. I very much doubt this shambles can be laid at Alex Neil''s feet....
  22. I''m not sure Fulham have ever agreed a fee with Norwich for McCormack. Norwich would still be haggling for twopence off here and threepence off there......
  23. So Norwich have spent two weeks trying to play clever over signing one of THE guaranteed goal scorers in the Championship, only for Aston Villa to snatch him from under their noses. Norwich City''s transfer dealings couldn''t come across more amateurish if they tried.
  24. Eh? Spurs have apparently agreed a fee with Brighton....
