1.8million in the kitty Most agree the need for a striker but 1.8 million does not get Prem standard (a bit like trying to buy a top spec PC for £300!) Strikers in the 1m mark will be no better than Sven or Leon. So is it worth spending at all? My guess would be no! Better save the kitty till the season ends. Then if a) we stay up it will boost a bigger fund and get a juicy signing b) we go down it would buy a couple of top Championship players to really give us a hope of returning Basically spending for the sake of spending may not be wise. Obviously I would prefer we brought big now- but realistically that aint gonna happen!

Ok so after that fantastic result I am now looking forward to the next matches already!!! What is vital is that we can keep the momentum. I really do feel that we can get something from both Brum and Fulham. (But Bolton scare the poop out of me- lots of big boys playing heading games will not be good for our defense- our biggest loss of the season potentially) Still 4-6 points out of the three will have me smiling. God bless NCFC- Francis and the boys. (Though Francis really should NOT do post match interviews- barely understandable on SKY!!)

Would this work????
Dean Coneys boots replied to Rasputin was a C...'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
sound points- - particularly Jonson up front. Leon is not there at this standard yet. And Safri ahead of Holt every time for me. -
well that is : the rugby team I play for have won lots this season.... ...I know its irrelevant but crikey what else is there to say????? A tough day for us NCFC fans

IS IT TIME FOR THE DOC?
Dean Coneys boots replied to DDD In The Fine City's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The worst that could happen.... ...the Doc slips in the first minute and falls backwards- he crashes into Green fracturing both skulls and putting them out for the season. As a result Ward goes into goal -only for it to be revealed that he had a strong affection for the Doc and cannot concentrate when his lover/hero is hurting - thus letting in several goals....Nigel collpases under the strain and is replaced by Megson- who demands his old Chairman back- and fat Chase arrives - promptly selling Hucks and buying Marshall as cover for Green and Ward (Gallacher and Lewis having been sacked by the ranting Megson).....Delia has enough and joins Ipswich- and takes them to the PRem.... ...not likely bu it was an inviting question!!! -
I am worried that if Saturday does not go our way (and anything can happen in Football) people will blow up with anger and frustration. Let''s be positive and enjoy our win..but.... ..if it is ANOTHER draw-or worse- lets stay on board- back Nigel- who HAS worked wonders since being at the helm- and cheer on till the end- which may yet pleasantly surprise us. The season does not end this weekend!! This season has seen some of the best football Norwich have played in many years- its just veyr tough. (Two seasons ago the likes of Newcastle and Spurs would have banged seven past us.)

holt over safri...again
Dean Coneys boots replied to Dean Coneys boots's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
holt AND safri possible?? great second half but boy were we lucky!!!!! -
remember Iwan''s first season!!! be patient
-
Once more its half time and we are down-grrrr sloppy goal too!! And Harry Redknapp has just commented that Holt should be pinning midfield down and distributing better- then added Safri did that well earlier in the season....so why is Holt never ever ever dropped....all season I have screamed it....aaaaahhhh oh well lets hope for the usual half time revival and two quick goals

with you on that one Wiz- I am ecstatic at the thought- but also massively sceptical. Sounds like a line from Football rumours- and about as credible.

nearly taken over by sainsbury??
Dean Coneys boots replied to Dean Coneys boots's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I was not saying if I was rpo or anti really- just speculating if it was us??/ And i presumed it would have been with delia and the board! wishgful thinking- just wanted their cash not thier input! -
The Sainsbury tycoon tabling a bid for Leeds admitted, on radio this morning, that he nearly bought a Prem club instead. He would not say which one!! (But gave the impression that its brand name was not as famous as Leeds) That got my little brain wondering...... ...a few months ago there were grand hints of January spending but with no publicised figure........ ...then recently the tone changed to more cautious stories of hard to find bargain strikers..... ...maybe I am enjoying a bit of conspiracy theory- but could it be that WE were the club. Especially if we think of how attractive the Delia/Sainsbury connection would have been. If so then there goes 25million mad: DOH!!!:

Drury and Holt out for weekend?
Dean Coneys boots replied to Morph's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
My guess would be the doc in centre defence with Charlton left (if he is back) -
Often the teams who struggle badly are those who get cut adrift at the foot of the table by Christmas. The Good news is that we are not adrift of other teams... yet.... ..howeve we soon will be if we do not win. But at present enough other sides are underperforming to give us hope. It is not so much how many points we have missed as the number of points needed to rise above others... My guess is that there will b a few teams scrapping this year and we may need less points than usual to survive. so a little optimism but we must win very soon to avoid relegation

I have said it before- I do not think Harewood is the answer- his own fans do not rate him very highly. £5m would be one hell of a gamble for him. We would be better trying to get an older established player- now Sutton would be wonderful. Or someone of that ilk. Then buy the potential stars next season- right now we need a proven prem star
-
Easy fellers!!! Lots of my mates are hammers fans (living in Essex as I do-though Jim will be pleased to hear I sepnt my childhood in sunny Gorleston) NONE of them rate Harewood much. They all tell me he is NOT premiership class. And they say the reason he will never cut it is his terrible attitude. He is prone to laziness and tempremental too. I really think he would rock the changing room atmosphere and spoil the party. If so I hope we steer clear....

The games is a winner! And yes Norwich are there and it is dead easy to tweak the odd attribute too- I made Hucks a bit faster (which seemed fair) but left him dodgy on accuracy of shot- brilliant its him. Green is also a bit under rated but most are ok. The good news is that the striker problem is solved- myself with OTT stats and my goddness what a difference that makes! This proves that we only need a £20 million striker in Jan and we are amongst th elite! -

i will cut the oranges if you like.....! -
If he''s good then great-let''s have him. But he will not be the short term answer in Jan. With no Prem experience he is not what we are looking for! I hope there are other irons in the fire as well.....
