1. Yeah kicking was unexpectedly below par. I had a tool sitting behind berating him for not rolling it out. Regardless of the fact a) it wasn''t on as the defenders were in no space and b) no defender was even presenting himself. Good take at the end, not so sure he should have let it bounce though... But I''m no keeper and he still made it his.
2. I thought Canterbury went bust? They make good rugby kits but the football shirts looked a bit too kappa for me. Xara hasn''t exactly been hard-wearing, few washes and they''re gone. Not been a fan at all. best kit was the 2004 kit. Wouldn''t mind adidas with a collar, all yellow with green collar and trims. Take yellow with green pinstripes though.
3.
"might be worth a look at for rudd and steer to learn from DeMerit may be worth a look as cover at CB. Barry Hales maybe as a back up for Holt? His wages wont be Huge and he will win his fair share of headers and maybe score 1 or 2. Franny Jeffers would be good with hooly, as a Sheff Weds fan told my dad he was very clever runner but didn''t have anyone to supply to him.." Are you actually being serious? These are ridiculous, signing Barry Hayles, he is near retirement and can''t get work at League 2 level. Russel Hoult, must be over 40 and Francis Jeffers isn''t good enough for a Sheff Wednesday side that got relegated because they couldn''t score many goals. The only one I''d be happy with is DeMerit and is certainly far too good to be sitting on the bench and his wages will be big as well, I''d much rather have small name players on smaller wages. As he played 4 world cup games he can command a good wage packet.
Agree entirely. These players are useless. Would rather have youth playing than any of these has-beens. Even that is being kind.
4.
Tom, have you considered looking for another club to support?
haha If we had a team playing well on the pitch but difficulty getting tickets and poorly laid out shop which is impossible to find anything then people would moan the complete converse of your point. They know what they''re doing, it''s not exactly going to have been an impulse decision now is it?
5. Personally, correct use of English doesn''t cost anything, nor does it take any more time so I prefer to use it. And of course to read it. I use it in texts and get annoyed by people who don''t, not like we''re charged by the character now is it? But on the note of Jacko, I''m still not sure he is going to live up to his price tag, he''s unproven and didn''t set the world alight during the second half of last season. But given service I''m told by a trustworthy friend and Gillingham fan that he''ll put chances away. Just not, for me, sure we had to pay £600k+ for him. Still, ILWT.
6. The defence in front of him often simply disappeared or parted allowing them through. At one point our full back turned to show their winger outside and he simply turned inside, at first I thought someone was overlapping but there was no-one. Some very strange defending at times. Good saves, loud, commanding and organising. Impressed. Ruddy could well be No.2 to Rudd by next season, if not the end of this.
7. I would really hate to be an Ipswich fan right now. The amount of Sunderland players they have must contravene some sort of law, somewhere. And on the note of picking up players that are being culled from prem squads as so eloquently put, is a ridiculous statement. Clubs will have a decision made on who''s staying who needs to be offloaded and who, if the offer comes in, they''re willing to offload. Leaving just over a month to try and get rid of a player is leaving you very vulnerable to getting back next to nothing on a player. so they make them ''available'' as soon as possible.
8. I wish he was still here, even on a poor day he makes an impact. Always gives his all no matter what which isn''t something you can say about every player these days. Might not be technically gifted but he makes up for it in numerous ways. Wish he could lend Lappin a tenth of his enthusiasm and passion.
9. I''d be up for it but it looks like you''ve got it covered. If anyone wants to write for my blog though give me a shout. It''s the Future''sBleak one below, not the Brighter Shade Of Yellow as that''s my Pinkun one. Blogs must be dry, sarcastic and funny. Or we try anyway.
10. I''m a fan of Gow, plays football the right way. Skillful and keeps the ball on the floor and moving, would definitely have him back. I feel he''d be a luxury signing though, not necessarily needed but would be handy.
11. I know most you hate blogs, but I''ve posted a new blog up if anyone wanted a read. here But links don''t work for me on here try below if not. Thanks to those who read, and comments welcomed. JP
12. Yeah I was going to say we won the last Div1 before it turned CCC. I don''t like this whole NPower sponsorship, mainly because when I think NPower I think of The 2005 Ashes before even electricity. Why take this away from me??
13.
Another midfielder... that must rule out Taiwo now...
You''d hope so. We have a fair share of midfielders already. Gill and OTJ on their way surely too?
14. Been speaking to my mate at Cardiff again, he said he mainly played Carling Cup when he did play and one game he was so poor they began to just stop passing to him. Hopefully he just needs a fresh start should it be him signing. Unrelated to us but still thought some might find this of interest. Joe Ledley is apparently in talks with Roma, already been over there to check out the facilities. Seems unbelievable but is true. Never thought he was that good.
