  1. I think we''ve had some good luck this season, but thinking back we had some really bad luck when we went down. We had an endless stream of injuries (playing Russell up front) and some really shocking penalty decisions, and bad refs last year. OK so we always hate refs, but I thought last years were a lot worse than this. We have been lucky enough (and so have Leeds I believe) to mostly send out an unchanged side this season (up until now granted) or at least the side we want to. We never had that option last season. So it is going to come down to luck with injuries, and depth of squad. We are fortunate to have many goal scorers in ours, and good cover in defence, and midfield. I haven''t really looked at the Leeds squad, but are there as many goal scorers, from all areas of the pitch, and do they have the midfield and defensive cover we have? Maybe someone can tell me?
  2. Hadn''t heard this - does sound promising - lets just hope it goes well for us.
  3. Is it me, but I thought it had been said there would be a hearing in January to settle this with Colchester? Anyone know anything, or have I missed something? I would have thought they would have tried to sort this out quickly - but then again I suppose we are dealing with the FA!
  4. I think Forster on a season loan is a good idea - he wins and we do - and then Rudd is coming into the frame. I go back to Keelan days - whoever asked - but Hansbury! Oh dear he was not the best!
  5. Doc did take over from Holt on Saturday
  6. talking of their keeper - I thought he was excellent, and pulled off some top class saves. Reading the posts on their site, they really rate him (the pole in goal). Does anyone know anything about him - is he worth a punt as we can''t keep Forster?
  7. So do we stick with Doc & Nelson when Askou is fit and Whitbread is as well?
  8. credit where its due - from where we sat he made one save which was absolutely world class, apart from quite a few more in the first half. Anyone know how old he is? Is he worth a look at for us? Forster then didn''t want to be outclassed, so pulled a few off for himself!
  9. So everyone appears to be on form, and we have now seen Zak Whitbread as well - thought he did well. Doc is a new player, got up when down and threw his whole body into some great blocks today. His distribution was good too - he is also playing the ball out of defence, and also came wide to give us some width in the second half. Nelson is not so good distribution wise imo, but won pretty much everything in the air, and was really solid. Zak looked good too - I thought he took a few minutes to get into it, but then looked assured and has pace for a cenre back. And then - we still have Askou, who has been great (fantastic header of the ball) and Spillane who can do a job there - and challenge Martin at right back! So what is our best central defensive partnership - any thoughts? Nice problems though!
  10. yeah well done for facing up and coming on here - can''t have been easy - a lot easier to hide.
  11. yeah well done for facing up and coming on here - can''t have been easy - a lot easier to hide. Play offs still beckon in spite of Cowling.
  12. forgot about Paulton - and I watched it - not quite in the same league though!
  13. Watched the game on the internet, great performance all round. I was surprised at Ginger Pele''s quick feet - he actually kind of side stepped the defender, and the hit it so hard - can''t believe that was Doc! Just wondered as well whether anyone can remember the last time we won 5-0 away from home? Before this season it was hard to remember when we last won 5-0 - let away to a promotion contender away!
  14. How did you manage to get DAB reception in Barking? I did the same, bought DAB, but can''t even get Radio Norfolk reception just across the Suffolk border!
  15. Maybe thats why you are not a teacher anymore Dean Coneys Boots - maybe you didn''t work as hard as some!
  16. have seen spillane many times, and in the game when he got injured he was absoloutely streaks ahead of semi, and was going forward well. He hasn''t had the run Martin has since being out on loan to Luton. Given a run, I think we would see a similar improvement.
  17. Surely now is not the time to decide any of this anyway, the Board don''t have all the facts, so and thats why they are not making decisions yet. Speculation by us is pretty pointless, until we have more facts ourselves. We could get promotion (hopefully!) there is a General Election, and potentially a budget, the economy is very fragile etc etc. We have finance in place until the end of the season, and potentially well into next season. Surely while all options should be considered by the Board, it cannot be known whether it is right to sell off CR until we know better where we stand, and what the real issues are at that time. Thats what Mcnally and the Board are, quite correctly, doing.
