1. A heart of gold, but his best attribute (speed of thought in the box) has been lost with the passage of time. He will try for you, but I don''t think you will be that impressed! Thanks for Holt. A great player at this level and the kind of team captain we needed
2. You can find it here... http://www.the92.co.uk/#/fans_league  then navigate to the home page via the tab
3. Will the club know about this and be able to recognise his service and commitment? Such a sad loss at such an early age.
4.
Im sorry to hear that your boys support the scum, must be very hard on you. If you were to ever give them up I wouldn''t hold it against you.
Occasionally, I put glass in their food and let the tyres down on their cars, but apart from that, we get on well (except on Saturdays)
5. Ipswich. Born on the Heartsease estate, lived in the great city for 18 years. Via Nottingham, London and Mildenhall, ended up in Ipswich. Always kept the faith through thick and thin, thin, thin, thin. Sadly, both boys were born in Ipswich and you can guess who they support!!!! Makes for an interesting household at times. Come on you yellows..................

7. The ripple effect has started. At least some Leyton Orient fans have done some homework, unlike the News of the World.... have a look... http://leytonorient2.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=228462
8. Hmmm A lucid and well considered post. Just enjoy today!
9. It was 16th September 2003 and the day I first wore that particular pair of underpants. Coincidently it was also the day I was given a Nantes FC scarf, a present from a friend who had been on holiday to France a few weeks before. Those in the know will appreciate that the scarf was yellow and green, a reflection of the fact that our French cousins also play in the glorious colours - Le Canaries. The new underpants and the scarf helped to secure the win that day against Gillingham, 3 - 1 I think? For every fixture for the rest of the season (well almost), the combination of said underpants and Nantes scarf did the trick and we went on to win the Div 1 championship.   As you may have guessed the lucky pants and scarf were worn regularly for match days over the next few seasons and yes, they were washed between games! I still regarded them a lucky despite the occasional (???) defeat through 2004 - 2009. To not wear them would have meant certain defeat in my mind. Although the pants were somewhat worn out at the start of this season, I was still determined to wear the matching set. It was a superstition that couldn’t be broken, part of the match day ritual. The 2009 /10 season promised so much, despite being in the third tier of English football. We were bound to beat Colchester, with the combination of a new team and the lucky(?) pants and scarf.   The rest is history. The pants were thrown out and the scarf has not seen the light of day since that defeat. Who needs superstition and match day rituals when you have Paul Lambert, Ian Culverhouse and Ian Crook in charge? They are a collective genius. Has Lambert and co relieved you of any such rituals, or has their arrival sparked a new must wear, must do routine? The socks are already in the washing machine on arrival home from the game today. They will be ready for Tuesday when we walk out at the Bescot on Tuesday. Come on you Yellows.
10. Only hated by some. Whilst his views are sometimes controversial, he always writes / speaks with authority and style. Reading /  listening to him is always worthwhile, as is the article you refer to.
11. As reported on Sky Sports News..  http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_5856864,00.html   Will he play? Is he any good?
12.
Nothing to do with great photographs or managers acting like idiots but check out the free kick that made Jose celebrate so much in that game. Truly amazing, think it changes direction about 4 times! After 3:21
That''s more like it. I''m not sure if Inter or Siena reminded me of Norwich. On second thoughts, it must be Norwich as they won again!
13. An earlier thread gave suggested we viewed the great photos taken at the Exeter game - from the BBC website....   http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8450484.stm. They are stunning, full marks to the photographer who has caught the moment, particularly the one of Paul Lambert showing how he can cope with the cold weather (in contrast to our friend from Exeter). Can anyone suggest the best picture they can recall to show the joy and the trials and tribulations of being a football manager?   Any like those below for Norwich - a link will do if the picture can''t be posted here? Suggestions please, but not the one of Brian Gunn facing the famous two - I don''t want to be rminded of that episode! Jose knows how to celebrate   http://www.daylife.com/photo/047hcGH8sZ4Al
14. As I suggested yesterday.......  Give Paul Lambert a pay rise. Now! It is no surprise to see Paul Lambert’s name linked with other clubs in need of a new manager. Nobody in football can fail to have noticed how he has turned the fortunes of NCFC around in the space of just a few months and on a tight budget. That, alongside the fact we are playing some of the best football in all four divisions. Moreover, he is doing what all chairmen want and that’s entertaining big crowds who want to share in the clubs’ success. The experts will have noticed that he is getting the very best out of a team without superstars and that his tactical awareness is second to none in Div 1.  To that end, let’s see the directors of the club do more than just applaud him and knock back any unwelcome approaches for his services. Give him a pay rise now! Burnley will not be the only club to consider him in the months to come. Let’s see the NCFC directors take action. This will speak louder than words. His statement today is concise, honest and reflects the ambition he has for himself, his coaching staff, the team and the supporters. Top man.........

17. The Paddy Power (Talk Sport) representative just mention that Lambert is bookies favourite. They are following the money! But they must be wrong on this occasion?
18. I agree, grammar is far less important than content. Sad on both counts?
19. Of course it is the job of news reporters / editors to write effective headlines. They draw us in unsuspecting and curious, sometimes alarmed at what might be behind them. That’s certainly the case for the Pink’Un headline that started all this Lambert to Burnley conjecture.   Bookies tip Lambert to quit Norwich City   The Ipswich Evening Star headline was even more tempting to view tonight.....   Lambert set for Burnley job?   What’s the best headline that caused you to look further?   Anyone prepared to make up tomorrows headline which is bound to suck us in?
