  1. Hi, I live on the Harringay Ladder, about 1.5 miles from the ground. All resident parking around us is until 6pm and you can then jump on an easy bus. Also great Turkish restaurants for after the game! PS I’m interested if anyone has a ticket!!
  2. I’m London based but never done the capital canaries. I really should but now a new born at home. Hope everyone has a great time.
  3. I’ll go hunt it down later but i thought it was that he had helped to ‘close’ a deal by talking to the player in question. I could be wrong
  4. Sorry if posted before but did anyone else note the comment on the Pinkun podcast about Jeremy Goss coming in to give a presentation to ‘close’ a new player signing? An interesting snippet of the lengths needed to achieve transfers.
  5. Some interesting snippets here. Very positive on our style of play and improvement after more time to settle into the system. https://www.villatalk.com/topic/18124-ratings-reactions-norwich-v-villa/
  6. http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-19700357-detail/story.html#axzz2cmtxN8xR I think Bruce has just gone up in my estimation. Especially at the end of the article where he creditis Norwich with his first big chance in football.
  7. Now I see what you''re saying but I think Hoolahan can still do a job in the right games and right system. But mostly I get a buzz that we still have a couple of players that have been here for the whole ride from Lg1 to 2x successful seasons in the prem. We''re down to Martin and Hoolahan now....
  8. Hi all, didn''t see a post on this but apologies if a re-post. Thought I''d share the following rubbish from Caughtoffside / Star... "West Brom are reportedly lining up moves for Norwich City midfield pair Robert Snodgrass and Wes Hoolahan, according to the Express and Star. Baggies manager Steve Clarke is eager to bolster his midfield this summer with more creative players to help make his side more efficient this season, following the loss of Romelu Lukaku who has returned to parent club Chelsea. Following an influx of new faces at Carrow Road, it’s rumoured that both Hoolahan and Snodgrass are available at the right price. Snodgrass, who has been linked with a move away already this summer, played an integral part in Norwich’s success last season, scoring the most direct freekicks in the Premier League, he was a perennial threat from set-pieces. Hoolahan also played a key role, but has fallen further down the Norwich pecking order this season."
  9. I wonder what the Sevilla fans think of the £66m earned and nothing spent for the transfer window....
  10. Well I found this interesting... http://www.theguardian.com/football/interactive/2013/aug/16/premier-league-transfer-window-interactive
  11. A bit like your first love I''d say you always have a soft spot for those players from when you were growing up. So i''d have to say Eadie although I also remember hoping both he and Keith O''Neil would finally both be fit and playing in the same team. Of course singing Iwan Roberts to feed off the service was just magic. Mind you, we all know how that turned out in the first season!
  12. Hi all, I found this an interesting post and comments from West Ham fans. http://foreverwestham.com/2013/07/blog-topics/can-west-ham-learn-a-few-things-from-norwich-city/comment-page-1#comments Seem a sensible lot but I did raise an eyebrow at the post saying West Ham are ''on a completely different level to Norwich''..... I''d love to know why they think so!
  13. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/the-only-way-is-down-for-queens-park-rangers-8591332.html Apologies if this is a re-post as the article is from a number of weeks ago. I don''t think they''re quite right on our debt position (yet) but the general gist is right. Makes me glad to be a Norwich fan. If I was a QPR supporter reading that I''d just get angry.
  14. Apologies if already posted. Some good comments. Shame I think he''s going to have to eventually look elsewhere in the interests of his career.... http://www.pne-online.net/forum/showthread.php?80612-Rudd-v-Stuckman
  15. Was also in the home end and agree with comments here. 4-0 really flattered Man U. The lack of attack is a concern but until 1st half injury time I was pleased, my Man U plastic GF was worried and the fans all around were rather miffed!! Lots of comments about what a well organised, big team we were. "God it''s like trying to penetrate 11 pieces of mobile concrete" was a favorite.
  16. I''d love to agree with you Character Forming and I was telling my girlfriend before the game that she was going to hear some great singing from the Norwich fans. However we were sat near the Stretford end (loud when they want to be) and heard hardly anything from the away fans. The prawn sandwich brigand were in evidence with lots of quiet moments but no one would claim to have been blown away by the noise of the away support. Maybe it''s just the acoustics of the ground....
  17. Hi all, A bit late on a response but I only got back from Manchester late last night. We thought we''d make a weekend of it and I have to say that Manchester is a bit of an ugly town! I''ve not had much chance to read the other threads. But looking at some of the silly doom and gloom perhaps that''s just as well. I thought I''d share my experience in the home end. Sat in the section right by the entrance tunnel and had some very thoughtful Man U fans around me and had a great time listening to their thoughts on everything NCFC. Firstly Man U were very average on Saturday and for 75 minutes (other than a goal Bunn should have saved) we had their number in defense. Martin and esp Snodgrass really put a shift in. The home fans around me were getting very very annoyed and here''s some of the comments at half time - - No way we''re getting three points here. - God just look at the shoulders on these guys, it''s like trying to attack mobile concrete. - Holt might be overweight but god he can hold the ball up. - this is possibly the biggest team i''ve seen this year. So by 44 min I''d say great job. I''d even say we had the better of the start of the second half. I saw the MOTD highlights and read the BBC match report. Load of tosh. Apparently Anderson ''controlled'' the midfield.... Is that why he was jeered off by his own fans? Cleverley was the real difference. Then we all know what happened from 75 min. The guys around me suddenly all agreed Man U are amazing. However I do have the usual complaint. Yes we were tough to break down but we really offered very little in attack. A couple of patient build ups and dangerous crosses but that was your lot. Very narrow. Also I was exciting to see Kamara come on but little chance to make an impact and lost the ball a number of times. Anyway I hope that helps.
  18. I sat in the south stand right by the entrance tunnel. I think it was down as a ''cat 2'' section? So not the posh seats but not bad. Didn''t notice anything out of the ordinary with the leg room. The home fans however... But that''s for a different thread.
  19. Chill out mate. A tongue in cheek comment and you jump straight down his throat. No wonder people moan about the tone on here sometimes. How about I look out for all your posts from here on in and pick holes for no reason. How about it being a comment on the black away strip, which I rather like as well. Or do I need your permission first? Right back to feeling good about the world.
  20. While I don''t disagree about supporting your local team I find it ironic that your fellow binners, having financially supported their local professional (?) team that same team then financially screwed over all the other local businesses and community for which those same fans might well work. But that''s probably lost on you. My kids are free to support who they like and yes we''ve been to both Ashton gate and the Memorial over the years (supporting Norwich and casually). But I don''t have a tenuous link to Norwich and I''m not about to stop taking them to games with me just because they might like the team in Yellow (or stupidly copying their old man!). Welcome to the real world where it''s common to move out of home. But that''s probably lost on you as well....
  21. Trying to avoid the obvious Troll trying to get us into a ''i''m a better fan than you''. Couldn''t care less where you live or how long you''ve supported the team. Happy to have you on board! For the record I live in Bristol and going to as many games as that allows for more than 20 years,,,, But.... I did have a very interesting chat with the Man U supporting misses the other day. She''s from Luton and never been to Old Trafford yet feels happy to take the mick (not in the last 2 days I might add!!). But when confronted she has a good answer. Her dad is Manchester born and bred and from a family of huge Man U fans. So she simply asks me a) am i likely to ever live back in the fair city of Norwich?? (no) b) who will I expect my children to support? Bloomin logic...
  22. It''s often said that the spine of a team is all important.  So it worries me that our best defender, best midfield passer and 15 goal striker are suddenly all likely to leave.  Perhaps it''s just me but anyone else think the three of them might suddenly turn up at Villa with only a transfer fee required for one of them?
  23.   Says a guy with 16,000 posts on a message board!!  Get a life. As for Fry, can only help I think.
