1. Time will tell and agree a team playing as a unit is always better than 11 individuals however talented. With nearly a third of the season still to go, have no doubt I am being premature anyway but see real potential in the current set up which is such a great feeling!
2. I know what you mean Morty! So many threads where you think there is a definitive answer, but then end up re-posting a dozen times.
3. True enough but there is no manager in the world that inspires enough confidence to stop any fool with a copy of Football Manager thinking they could do a better job! Seriously, have you seen how good Cody gets by the 2018 season etc!!! I think the Russel suspension will necessitate a bit of a change as think Hughes is a different player.
4. I don''t think anyone is saying that if Nelson etc plays we will not cheer him. It is the same old problem, where the days after watching a losing performance stretch on forever and everyone wants to suggest how to get back to the euphoria a win brings.
5. I am sure Lambert will have a list of positions that need strengthening and think CB will be high up. Just hope the board have the money to back him in the summer.
6. Who do you think out of our current squad would get into a top 6 Champ side? The board have said the plan is to become this asap but looking at the playing staff I cannot see how this will happen without wholesale changes. Wes, Holt, C Martin, maybe Darel? To be honest I cannot see many apart from Forster that would generate interest if they were available. If we go up on the back of a league win, no doubt we will carry momentum with us but have to say the current threads debating which CBs to pick from the squad highlight the lack of quality Lambert is having to chose from.
7.

Fair point, think there is something about the Doc that always makes him look slower than he is. I think the great thing with Askou is his towering strength in the air and he seems to inspire confidence. That said, he is no Butterworth and don''t think any of the three would get into a champ side which is what we are hoping to be.
See...I wouldn''t say Askou has got "towering strength" in the air. The good thing about him is that he gets straight back in if he doesn''t get the ball at the first attempt but Nelson wins more in the air than he does.
I must admit, think I have been reading the Pinkun too much - not sure where that description came from! He can head the ball a hell of a long way though....

9. Would rather see Korey wide on the left with Hoolahan in the hole.
10.
I like Askou but I do think he''s a bit overrated by some people and often wonder what the opinion of him would have been if he''d played in the 1-7 with Colchester. He''s a competitor but he''s not as good in the air as Doherty and Askou and he''s no better than Nelson with his distribution. I''m happy for him to be in the team but at the same time I don''t think it''ll make a great difference either way.
I have nothing against Nelson, just think he and Doc are too similar to be a good combo. Need someone with a bit of pace to cover them. Still think CB is one of our weakest areas and will need improving if we go up.
11. Reckon a 4-1-2-2-1 with two wide men supporting Holt might work as long as Wes has the freedom to come inside as much as he wants. Tough to say as the diamond has been the most consistent performer we have had this year!
12. What about giving Spillane a game in the middle alongside the Doc?
13. Unless Fergie is down for a meeting, when it goes on until he has finished his cognac!
14. I think start with Martin and bring Spillane on for the last 30 or so, or start him but make sure Martin is on the bench if needed. Askou is a must if fit.
15. We need to show that we can play with wide men as think the diamond will come a cropper against championship sides if we get promoted. Maybe give Martin or Johnson a go on the left wing with Wes just off Holt. Not really a fan of strikers being played on the wing but think in a home game where hopefully they will be on the front foot 80% of the time it can work. That said would require Rose to be at his defensive best....
16. Agreed Bexley, annoying when away fans get charged more than the home. £30 is a lot for a League 2 game imo, but a bargain to see Norwich v Leeds. That said, given that we sell out the home section pretty much every game, if they don''t want to pay hopefully the space will be made available for home fans.
17. It is amazing how easily sub standard players can hide in a team when it is playing well. Phil Neville.... I think we were always going to hit a point in the season after that great run of form where results changed, let''s face it we were never going to go 35 games performing amazingly. This is where the manager and his team show their true mettle, using the squad players, motivating everyone and adapting tactics etc to reinvigorate things. I personally do not think Nelson is good enough for us, but think the real problem is that he is too similar to the Doc and having them both in the team begs problems. However the fact that Leeds and Charlton are both struggling at the same time as us is massively fortunate and hopefully an indication that the gods are behind us!
18. On a sober note, we have only played 2/3 of the season. However we are on top for now which is all we can do, it is in our own hands now.
19. I think she is a smelly pirate hooker and should go back to her home on whore island.
20. I think if nothing else the mood on this board has improved dramatically this season (well after the first few games anyway!). I would rather see us scrapping to stay in the champ but it has been much easier supporting a winning side - no surprise there. Football like many sports owes a lot to morale and form and think we will have a better chance next season in the champ after promotion than someone like Plymouth who might manage to just avoid relegation.
21. Ricky Lambert has won it, bad luck Chrissy. http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,16368,1811_5916429,00.html
22. When I was 17, it was a very good year... It was a very good year for Hoolahan and Sunny D....
23. Shame they did not teach you to read other threads before posting numpty.
24. Will expect a resurgence of the liinks to Boro if they do sell Johnson to Man city. Nothing will happen in the next two hours, but would still rather they went a bit quicker!
