I would like nothing more to give you more in depth details about what I know but i have to be cryptic as peoples livelihoods are on the line and saying certain things would pin point who, what when and where. It might turn out to be nothing but i am posting only the accurate information given at the time. I certainly am no troll just a fan as you are.
Are you the same guy that said "Sylvain Wiltord. Mark my words, Sylvain Wiltord." and then tapped his nose knowingly on the way back from Watford in Worthington''s promotion season? If so, Hooper is a much more sensible and realistic target, what with us having previously confirmed interest. You''re improving....[;)]
ummm no it was not. my messages a few so check.

thank you again for reminding me why not to bother here.

Nursey is right about a signing but everything I have been told means it isn''t Hooper unless he was on holiday in Europe. Spain.

Something happening at Carra Rd
GRIFFTER45 replied to Buster Douglas's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It is both -
We are 100% not getting hooper. We are however looking at another Celtic striker.
-
I''m not saying you are wrong but I am saying shut the hell up! We scored plenty and many of you who called for Jackson to be given a chance say now different! We are getting a striker on loan... So chill. If we did transfers like this last season you would of elated for anything but relegation ! We finished 12!

How on earth do you expect us to be able to afford the wages of Carroll, Berbatov or Owen, they are not in our league? What do you mean by "at some point we''ll have to bite the bullet"? I don''t know how many different ways to say the same thing, we can''t spend what we don''t have.
Let''s simplify this with an example.CMS costs say 3 mil and wants 20k a week therefore total cost for a year is just over 4 millionOwen costs 0 in fees, but wants 50k a week therefore total cost for a year is just over 2.5 millionEven if Owen wants massive money, we''ve already saved millions on the transfer fee to cover the wages, and then if we stay up we can re-negotiate for another year if we want.West Ham don''t appear to have paid a loan fee for Carroll, but will be paying his wages (at approx 70k a week), with a perm option next year if they stay up, so again approx 3.6 million for the year for Carroll.Get my drift yet???Even with BIG wages, the savings on the transfer fees cover it, and we can then see where we are next year, rather than settling for options like CMS.This isn''t spending money we don''t have, it''s spending money we do have in a different way.
I don''t want cms at all. However, no I don''t get your drift but if you were an employer I would defintately work for you!

unbelievable!!! Although only officially on the books he is responcable for 80% of our signings since lambert started.

CMS The Best We Can Get On Our Budget
GRIFFTER45 replied to canarycat's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
@canarycat - No, I''m not saying that paying for Hughton & team and get nothing for Lambert & team would''ve massively diminished the budget, but it certainly wouldn''t have helped. The issue of no money for Lambert has been swept under the carpet, which I find quite strange considering the character McNally appears to be. Signing CMS has a feel of signing the dregs about it. A bit like Burnley a few years back. They signed players who were quite clearly Championship players, as we have done in the past, but we had a manager who could get the best out of them. Now, I feel we don''t have that asset to our staff anymore. I feel we have to buy the more rounded player to stay up because Hughton isn''t as capable of doing what Lambert did with regards to his players'' high level performances.
The Lambert issue is not over. It is going to a tribunal as no agreemant can be made. -

We have to be looking at better strikers than this look at our income some fans are so easy going he will be like Martin and Morrison useless and we will go down
If he''s like Morison and scores 9 goals in the Premier League I''ll be happy. I think everyone has been over dosing on crappy Twitter ''ITK'' sources and started to believe we were going to sign some exotic striker who''ll score 20 goals and cost £500k - these players just don''t exist. So many posters on here are suggesting that Norwich ''sign someone exciting'' but who is that? Hughton could go off to the Czech Republic and splash a few million on an ''exciting'' striker who we''ve never heard of, but looks great on YouTube but turns out to be f''ing Goran Maric again. Lambert willfully neglected to get any decent scouting sorted out in Europe over the last 3 years and we are now paying the price - scouting isn''t just about spotting players, it''s also about establishing contacts with agents. Swansea are having great success signing players from Spain because Laudrup was a manager and player there and comes with an establish contact list - unfortunatley there is no one like this at Norwich.
Isn''t Ewan Chester now meant to be that man, Bethnal? Early days, but we have already this summer signed two players from overseas leagues. As to Mackail-Smith, one oddity is that we could have bid for him at any point this summer. IF we have now made a bid it might suggest that Hughton has failed to get his primary targets (loan deal from a top six club?) and has fallen back on this option.
We do have scouting network in place opperating in the scandanavian leagues.

We have already spent nearly all of our budget that was allocated. We will not be purchasing any more players. We are looking for a striker but it is only going to be a loan only.
-
I will stand by what i have written but would not like to provide and sources or specific transfers as he was contractually obliged to another club. He was destined to head towards chelsea as he wanted to explore foreign scouting some what more but ended up at Birmingham.Ewan is an expert and extremely knowledgeable with the players in the British divisions.

Ewan has done a lot more than you think and know already. He has been responsible for most our signings over the last 2-3 seasons.
