1. By the way from a quick scan and from memory there doesnt seem to be more than 10 to 15 people who said they were going to be there anyway so if 35-50 turned up then surely the majority who said they would be there, were there. It''ll be more interesting at 4.30 when this Q and A thing with some of the board members happens and hopefully some decent questions are asked of them.
 2.
Maybe the ''majority'' on here who believe they represent the views of most of the fans, are not quite the majority they think they are?!
Probably right but then what does that say about the majority of our fans? I read yet another good post by the big feller over on the wrath yesterday where he remarked Norwich City is a football club run by idiots for idiots, which sums it up rather well in my eyes.
 3. P.S. apoligies for the spelling mistakes. Like most people had a few drinks today.
 4. A very good post NMTD. I think the analogy to new labour is very apt and is one I have had myself. The complete lack of responsibility from the board and especially Delia for the mess we are currently in is laughable. Hearing Delia Blame ''football'' for our plight today was the biggest joke i''ve heard in a long time.  As if this mythical football beast hasn''t effected every other club in this league, it reminds me of a manager complaining about a bad pitch when his teams loses when both teams have to play on it. We cannot continue down this path anymore, nor can we although those that wish to defend the board to continue to control the agenda. It''s time for a big change and Delia must be forced to sell her shares, even if it means she loses money. OTBC

I also believe that the moon isn''t made of green cheese, but I''ve got no evidence of that either, so it can''t be right. Nor, more importantly, given your line of argument, may I have an opinion on it, nor express it on a forum.
Are you going to answer my question?
I think you have your answer already. He has no evidence to back up his claim that Peter Cullum was on an ego trip.

 8.
It''s not just hindsight which led to me writing what I did last night: I and many others saw it coming. Why didn''t those in charge?
Just to add to that, why is it some of our fans still can''t?
 9. Some very good posts by the Big Feller and Saint Canary. Completely sums up what i''ve been thinking for the past 3 years as well, especially regarding Worthington''s sacking or lack of in summer 2006 which is what turned me against them. I remember thinking at the time when are they going to sack him and then come the last game of the season the message was pretty much ''thanks for your support'' and then nothing while they all buggered off on holiday for 2 months. I couldn''t believe at the time the level of incompetence to not get rid of a manager who was clearly failing. It was just an utter joke and was one of the major events which has lead us to where we stand today.
 10. I think thats a good analysis of the situation. Far from being a decisive, bold move from Evans the fact that Keane was in so quickly speaks to me of an owner who is desperate for success. Well what happens when that success isn''t forthcoming? How much more money will the Marcus Evans ''Credit Card'' stretch too? Interesting times ahead and like I said on another thread if it doesn''t work out with Keane then I feel Ipswich are in for some rocky times ahead.
 11. I''m no fan of our current board and the mess this club is currently in, however the Ipswich model is certainely not one to be lauded. An owner who never appears in public and who''s investment still has something of the mystery about it. A new manager with a proven track record as a headcase, who needs lots of money to suceed. To be honest and i''m not just saying this because I hate them lot down the A140, but I would be pretty concered if I was an Ipswich fan. I do wonder in 2 years if things don''t go to plan and Ipswich are still a Championship club what state they are going to be in and I wouldn''t be at all surprised if it ends in tears.
 12. Why don''t people wait until the end of the transfer window until they begin moaning about who we have and haven''t brought in. Yes we need a striker and a defender but it''s not like Gunn can choose the order in which he signs these players. I know nothing about Carney but i''m willing to give Gunn the benefit of the doubt, especially if chippy has recommended him.
 13. Oi Noi! Sounds like Crooky''s suffering from a severe case of AQI... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3DuCTqmyuoc
 14. From the Doncaster article: "Yes, I have called the Northern Irish FA and the conversation went absolutely on the lines of ''look, this is not an official approach in any sense. If there was to be any interest is that something that you would consider or not so that we then have the facts at our disposal to consider what to do''" If that isn''t the most obtuse piece of BS written I don''t know what is.   and More spin and denial: "Asked whether he had personally spoken to Worthington, he said: “I think to talk about who we''re talking to would be wrong." It''s sad that people still believe these clowns. Doncaster would make Alistair Campbell blush.
 15.

Sorry but I don''t believe that a formal approach was made to Worthy to offer him the managers job.
+1 CA. Neither do I. I think the club are exploring all avenues, and they felt that they should have a chat with a man who has had previous success with us, and Leicester (briefly).
So they go through the Irish FA to do that do they? The statement was quite clear from the IFA that an approach had been made. Doncasters statement reeks of spin. Why would you go to the IFA knowing who the manager was to ''have a chat''. It''s bollox. Like I said in another thread a national FA doesnt make such mistakes and doesnt confuse ''having a chat'' with making an approach for there manager. Doncaster''s basically calling the IFA  a bunch of liars and I can''t wait until he gets pulled on it.
 16.

Sorry but I don''t believe that a formal approach was made to Worthy to offer him the managers job.
The Irish FA never said there was.  They only said there was a request to speak to Worthy about the vacancy. Read Cam''s thread "The facts according to the Irish FA" and it appears Munby asked to speak to Worthy about appointing him part time caretaker until the end of the season while retaining his job with NI.
I don''t always read what the Daily Star journalists tell us either, sorry.
Good for you. Doesn''t change the fact that it happened. If you choose to ignore the evidence then thats your own fault.
 17.

PS: If Ray Kennedy says there was an approach from Norwich City there WAS an approach from Norwich City whatever Mr Doncaster says at your end.
Thats good enough for me Cam. Sadly a lot of people are still willing to believe the lies and deceit of this board. It''s like a nice warm comforting blanket from Auntie Delia that they can''t bear to let go. I have no doubt that the club will try and spin this and pretend no approach took place, this is not only what our club does but many do. Sadly many of the ''true believers'' will lap it up!
I am far from willing to believe "lies and deceit" of anyone, least of all the internet. Which is my whole point.  You will not meet anyone more cynical than me when dealing with such things as the media (in its widest sense) as my wife has worked in it for years and it is full of deliberate lies and deceit.  However, mistakes and misunderstandings happen all the time. If you want the truth of something you can never take it from one source/something that has clearly used that one source for its information.  Unfortunately far too many people are willing to read any and every article written on something and take it as the truth. However, if Cam states something he has better links than I do to these things so I''m generally happy enough to believe what he says.
With respect this isn''t the Sun, it''s from a national football association. How many times do you hear a national FA putting out blatantly false information especially when they have no need too?

 19.
Does everything have to be truth/lie?  No, I don''t think so - mistakes and misunderstandings can and do happen all the time.  The problem is that in this day and age of media/internet a mistake is nowhere near as retractable as it used to be, as it is already in the public domain. Not saying this is defo the case here, but it is far from impossible.  Indeed,  someone has posted on the o/s that they e-mailed Doomy to ask why the club had approached NW, and was told that "no one has been offered or made any formal approach, least of all the IFA".
Yes a misunderstanding... Kind of like one of those misunderstanding that Doctors see in casualty all the time when a gentlemans private parts ends up in a hoover or a rather large cucumber ends up inserted in a delicate place. "So how did this get stuck up here" " Well in I was in the kitchen and the floor was rather wet, and I must have slipped..." I can see it now. Relaxing back in his chair after a hard days e-mailing Doncaster falls and smashes his head on the phone. Miraculously in a million to 1 chance he manages to call the Chief Exec of the IFA. "Who''s this" cries the IFA CE "Umm well it''s Neil Doncaster from Norwich City" he says in his dazed state, immediatly jumping the gun the IFA CE responds "Listen you bleedin'' bastuurd, you ain''t getting your dirty English mitts on ''im, ya hear!" "Umm no but err you don''t underst..." BEEEEEEEEEEE and the phone goes dead. Yeap I can see it now...
 20.
I''m sorry, Cam but I do not believe this. Bothroyd has been in the directors box for the last 2 games & even our board wouldn''t be stupid enough to try & appoint a manager hounded out of the club just 2 years ago!
So the Irish FA are telling porkies?
 21.

Silly, (i Know) butthey might be right and The irish might have been misquoted or got hold of the wrong end of the stick?
The Irish have not been misquoted or got hold of the wrong end of the stick although, being Irish, I do realise that we frequently do that. You rang and were told to **** off.  He is not interested. You''ll have to try somewhere else.
Can you be absolutely sure of that, as Neil Doncaster seems to somewhat disagree.
What else is he going to say? We have the Irish FA and a journalist on here confirming that an approach was indeed made. Why would the Irish FA lie about it?
 22.
I''m not sure if we did. The quotes (that I''ve seen at least) seemed to suggest that the Northern Irland FA "would turn down any approach" (should one materialise) however when that got to the headline writer it became the Northern Ireland FA had "turned down an actual approach". That''s what i saw anyway...
Not sure if your replying to me puddy but the quote i''ve used from the Pink ''Un comes direct off the IFA website so it''s quite clear whatever the board may say we did indeed make an approach.
 23.
There is some conflict in the stories coming out of the Irish FA though. This morning they were saying there had ben no contact from Norwich, yet later they say they denied Norwich permission to talk last night. Could be they have released this to the press to warn Norwich off if they have heard all the rumours about wanting him back. I eally can''t believe even our board would consider bringing him back, especially when Boothroyd has been sat in the directors box for the last  games.
With respect where does it say they turned us down last night? Haven''t seen that. Here on the pink ''un it says we made an approach this evening: “On Thursday evening, the Irish FA turned down a request from Norwich City FC to speak to the Northern Ireland manager (Nigel Worthington) with regards to their vacant managerial position." So if the IFA are saying we hadn''t contacted them this morning then they are correct.
 24.

The rights or wrongs of the parachute payment are arguable - but surely they give a relegated club the ability to either gain repromotion, or at least find financial stability by rebuilding a squad to championship pay levels as opposed to premiership. Unfortunately our board failed to do neither - and therefore deserve all the critisicm they receive.
But the Board don''t choose which players to buy, team selection, tactics, sub''s etc. so results on the pitch are not their fault. They provide a good playing budget and the rest is up to the manager. They took things to the limit to try and provide the manager with as much money as possible.
The board however do choose the manager. Responsibility starts at the top Tom. Just as in every business if there are failings at ground level in a business then eventual responsibility lies with those in charge. Saying it''s the manager rather than the board is a bit like a racing car driver blaming his car rather than himself for constantly crashing. They''re the one''s in the driving seat and they get to choose the model...!
 25.
See the link for an article about Brum investing in undersoil heating in response to fans complaints about Saturday''s postponement! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/birmingham_city/7813385.stm The key quote is "In the past we have allocated all funds to bringing in players to achieve promotion or maintain Premier League status," said Sullivan. "But supporters want to see things happening off the pitch as well as on it, and we will find the balance needed to do this." I have a feeling that most of you guys would point to our current situation and tell them to change his mind!!
Not really a good example to use is it considering Birmingham are 3rd in the league and stand a good chance of playing in the premiership next season. I''d take the odd postponement for there league position any day of the week.
