  1. Lol, Southampton are hardly going to sell him 2 weeks after they signed him!
  2. Hmm, I think I believe the first sentence more than the second!
  3. The first paragraph of his quote, or the first paragraph of the whole post?
  4. I hope you didn''t just make that up. Either your spelling is bad whilst you were copying it from a website, or you just typed it yourself for a cheap rise! :P
  5. On second thoughts Malky to Flem: So you''re the new no. 9 we''ve been hearing about? :) Then McVeigh cracks some sort of joke about it... can''t think of one
  6. McVeigh to Flem: So you''re the new no. 9 we''ve been hearing about?
  7. He does look very grumpy in the squad photo and the picture posted in another link... or is this just a coincidence?
  8. Not a reply to the caption... but has anybody else noticed that Hucks looks incredibly grumpy in this pic and the squad photo?
  9. I think we were playing a 4-3-3 anyway, so we weren''t supposed to have as much width as you''d expect if we were playing a 4-4-2. However, we are definitely short of a quality wide man or two. I think we need to be looking at Brennan/McVeigh on the left, and Bentley on the right. Bentley needs some cover though. If we get Primus I would like to see him in the side alongside Fleming. I am quite keen on a sort of 5-3-2 formation with two wing-backs, namely Helveg and Brennan. With (Right to Left) Primus, Fleming and Drury in the centre of defence. Then any 2 of Holt, Francis, Safri, Mulryne in the centre of midfield. Huckerby and Bentley working off Svensson, one of the two playing just behind the Sven, and one alongside. This formation allows us to have pace upfront along with a solid defence. With wing-backs we will effectively have 4 in midfield to shut down the opposition, and the possibility of those wing-backs getting forward when we have the ball. Holt, Francis, and Safri are capable of forming a shield infront of the defence and their stamina and distribution will see them getting forward and increasing options, as and when required. As cambscanary said, we don''t have much talent on the flanks, so let''s not play to our weaknesses.
  10. I don''t like all these posters pairing Charlton and Fleming together, they are both short and not too commanding in the air. We need a big strong defender who can win the ball in the air to partner Flem, IMO.
  11. Yeah, that''s what''s been suggested on several other boards Paradox.
  12. Yea, apparently he is only on 5k a week (only!!! lol, not the right word, but you know what i mean!) and we have apparently been preparing to offer him 10k a week for a 3 year deal. So maybe he is affordable! :)
  13. I think this is the best one: ;-) -------------------Green------------------ ----------Primus--Fleming--Drury---------- Helveg-----------------------------Brennan ---------------Holt---Francis-------------- -------------Huckerby/Bentley------------- --------Svensson--Huckerby/Bentley------- Strong at the back and we have midfielders and wing-backs that are capable of forming a solid wall infront of the defence. Also some creativity in the middle that can be used to make space for Huckerby and Bentley''s flair. I think we could play with Bentley and Huckerby playing off Svensson with him as the shield, or we could have one of the pair alongside and another floating between the midfield and attackers. Seems to be a good combination of attack and defence. Any views?
  14. It was a £1m bid, and I still can''t see us going in for him.
  15. And they have signed 2 new defenders who may be threatening his position in the starting line-up. I''m fairly sure that the reason Linvoy is in talks with the "Money-men" at Pompey is to gauge whether they see him as a first-team regular next season, or they are prepared to let him go for £750,000 and utilise their 2 new signings instead.
  16. I agree, a goalkeeper isn''t/shouldn''t be on of our priorities right now. We desperately need a player capable of playing on the right-side of midfield, a big target-man striker, and a defender (be it Primus or A. N. Other). It''s highly unlikely that this "3rd-choice" ''keeper would get a game and besides, what goalkeepers of any quality are going to want to come to Norwich to play in the reserves???
  17. Hmm, I see what you''re saying but we could still get an offer accepted. Doesn''t say when this interview took place either...
  18. I think he means his chances of getting into the starting line-up at Norwich would have been greater. Not that playing for Norwich is necessarily better than playing for Portsmouth! This could be old news, if we have a bid accepted by Portsmouth he would find it very difficult to decide who to play for. Could still happen, but are we prepared to keep up-ing our bid until we are paying over the odds for him?
  19. Doesn''t seem as promising as you make it sound Peter! All he wants is to be given the same wages as the other defenders at Portsmouth, and Redknapp and Mandaric both want to keep the guy at the club, so I think they''ll probably give him the rise and he''ll stay with Pompey. Unless there is something going on that is unreported it doesn''t look like we''ll get him?
  20. Any chance you could enlighten me as to how you know the Primus affair is looking good? I heard that he seems fairly happy to stay at Pompey, which has worried me a bit! I don''t want the master-plan to fall apart! Please reassure me!
  21. Any news of a press conference today? Or any developments regarding Primus?
