  1. I was not at all happy at the appointment of Mr Gunn, however I think it would be naive to hope for his removal as manager until the board are gone, and even then I think he will be given time depending on how he has done and the personality of the new board- it wouldn''t look good to sack a club legend if we were top of League One. So perhaps we should actually back Gunn and co. to see where they take us for the first 8 games at least, as our main problem is not the manager it is the board. Managers can change quickly, but the board have been in place for a decade or so, would it not make us a more attractive proposition if we continued to back the players and management. Of course this qualifies as supporting my team, which some on this message board believe equates to giving the board my blessing and all of my savings (it does not). I also have to disagree with some of the vitriol slung in the direction of Gunn, he does not deserve the personal abuse that he gets on here, and I fail to see how it is in any way constructive. You might say he took that risk when he became manager, but wouldn''t it say more about us as fans if we could concentrate on his capacity to manage rather than other unimportant personal issues, which do not affect his ability to manage. I appreciate that he has not inspired confidence with the start to his managerial career, but I don''t think we have seen the best of  him or his team yet. Just to let you know I was very much in favour of going for Jim Gannon as manager, but as I have said I don''t think we have much choice right now.
  2. I do agree with the current line being pursued by NCISA and the like. This does not make me a sheep, instead it just equates to fan consensus, as was shown at the St Andrews meeting, making your accusations demonstrably fallacious. The strategy may not be perfect but it is better than inaction, or going through radical means, as this would serve to discourage potential investors. Utilising the existing structures that we have for expressing our discontent is the proper and mature option, but then I wouldn''t expect you to understand that.
  3. Linguistically speaking your argument is pathetic and flawed Happy Clapper, in addition to your inability to recognise that there is a problem at Carrow Road which has been endemic over a number of years. You cannot deny that Norwich are at least a Championship club in size, and the fact that we have fallen below these standards under the premiership of Delia and Michael suggests that it is they who are at least partly to blame. They may not have released most of our squad, that was Glenn Roeder, however it was the board who appointed Mr Roeder. In fairness to him he did a great job keeping us up the first time round, however the board failed to recognise the signs of decline that were becoming more and more obvious towards the end of last season, and into the current one. + This has led to the decline of this football club in quality and unity. You are most undoubtedly entitled to your own opinion, and the beauty of this message board is your ability to express it, however your argument essentially boils down to making farm animal noises in order to mock the genuine lucid opinions of other fans. You appear to be a sort of inverted Cluck, but I warn you now, no one will listen to your opinions should you continue to so ineptly excoriate them.
  4. Mr Gannon received the majority of fans votes in this poll: http://new.pinkun.com/cs/forums/1676863/ShowPost.aspx, so perhaps the board should listen to the fans for once and go with a sought after, talented young manager, who would also fit the cheap criterion given his redundancy from Stockport. Seems like a bit of a no-brainer, but then you sometimes have to question whether the board have brains, or if their heads are just filled with ideas of yellow and green blood, prudence with ambition and fairydust.
  5. On his way to Peterborough from Stockport, would have been a great signing for league one level, sadly we can''t compete with Championship ''boro, what a sad thought that is! http://www.sportinglife.com/football/transfer_centre/nw_story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer_league_1_and_2/09/05/12/manual_121820.html
  6. http://new.pinkun.com/cs/forums/1676863/ShowPost.aspx I''ve set up this poll to see who people want as the next manager, so please vote for your favourite. I tried to be as comprehensive as possible in terms of the choices available but I apologise for any omissions.
  7. We want Gannon, We want Gannon! Where is the experience? If he has been appointed I''ll support him but Gannon is there for free- golden golden opportunity! We need Gannon IMO, not Gunn however nice a guy he is! And what right do the board have to make this decision when prominent supporter groups have been expressing no confidence in their football decision making abilities. Disgrace.
  8. Interesting post Chicken, your points about teams coming up from league one were particularly interesting to me. I take your point that these teams can be more physical but teams like Swansea and Doncaster have played some lovely football as well, and we struggled against Swansea. i think next year is about finding the right balance, we need both passing ability but also physical presence in abundance. You can pass your way out of league one, as Swansea have shown, however I believe that it is also imperative to have a big striker, and a no nonsense defence. I also think we''ll need a keeper who is confident in coming for crosses, and set pieces, as these play an even bigger part in league one football. Perhaps the most important thing of all though is to have the team organised in such a way  as everyone knows their jobs, and sticks to them, which might lend itself to a manager like Aidy Boothroyd, to drill the team well, making us competitive in every game.
  9. Agree with most of that Polar, good post, but corbs point is valid too, we need to find new owners/investors before the board are hounded out completely, as we may struggle to survive as a club without them. However I dread to think what may happen if Norwich were to go into next season with the current setup still in place in its entireity.
  10. I''ve been piping on about Gannon for a little while now, and I still think he''d be a good manager for us, especially given our current plight,  and i would desperately like to see players of youth and hunger brought through and into the club, which Gannon has done at Stockport- Tommy Rowe/ Dickinson anyone?
  11. Has anyone got any constructive ideas for how to move this club forward, so that we are in a position to challenge for promotion next season? No doubt Clingan will be sold along with a few other players, and hopefully that will bring in a bit of money for fresh blood. Hopefully we will have a new board and a new manager (preferably Jim Gannon) that have the footballing nouse and business brains to move this club forward in a realistic manner. Whilst it would be great if the likes of Cullum would come in and invest masses of money into the team, I can''t see this happening, a consortium of local businessmen is perhaps more likely. We need change but at the same time it must be change for the better, and IMO we must not forget that in our pursuit of a new board, manager and playing staff.
  12. Has to be Jim Gannon from the names mentioned so far. He''s done wonders with a Stockport team that has very little money, and he has nurtured the talents of the likes of Liam Dickinson and Tommy Rowe very well. I did mention him after the appointment of Gunn, but now we have to go with someone who has experience and nous, something that Gannon should fit. However he was linked with the Huddersfield job I think and then pulled out last minute, not sure what that was about, but maybe he has an attachment to Stockport,  not really sure why he''d want to stay there though!
  13. I very much agree with the sentiment of your post CT, however while I agree that this m/b is divided I don''t think its as simple as pro/anti-board, as I''m a middle of the road man myself despite my frustrations, who disagrees with outright devotion to the board, as well as outright criticism of the board.
  14. This game could be crucial. Blackpool are on 52, with inferior goal diff, forest are still in the mix but inferior goal diff too so if they lose that match and win the next one they could still be relegated. Blackpool''s last game is Swansea away, with the Swans chasing play-offs, should be their win. The worst result in this game for us would be a draw. Clutching at straws maybe, but if we win the next 2 games we give ourselves a shout at least of surviving.
  15. ...If we are relegated, I don''t care with what group of players, what manager, what board, anything less than promotion will be unacceptable.
  16. I may regret wading into this debate but oh well... City Angel''s initial response was over confrontational as badger has pointed out, especially given that it was an NCFC related story even if it wasn''t the mens team. Astrodyne''s argument as to the necessity of pulling together as one band of Norwich fans against the invading ''Lincoln/ Colchester fan'' is a fallacy. This message board has not ever been fully united, nor will it ever be. Cam''s response to CA was over the top, but perhaps the reason for his non-appearance on this thread is that he is rising above the vitriol that is being unfairly thrown his way in my mind. And CA suggesting that his copy and paste journalism is not wanted, and that we can look throuygh our own papers comes across as unnecessarily territorial. As for those supporting CA, they are obviously perfectly entitled to, and in the several years I have read this forum, she has almost always come across as a lovely person, however the personal abuse of Cam and his profession is just not justified in any way shape or form, and it doesn''t really serve to support CA at all. I enjoy reading both of their opinions on this board, but this thread is not about opinions, it has degenerated to a pointless slanging match, where we ostracise the ''outsider''.
  17. I must admit I hadn''t noticed your post Graham, although I would have backed him as a choice if I had. Bringing through players such as Dickinson and Rowe and taking the team up on a miniscule budget is an achievement not to be underestimated. I obviously wish Gunn and co  would do well, but at present things don''t look good, hopefully I am proven wrong and we survive with Gunn, and go to the Premiership next year, but unfortunately such scenarios only play out in my dreams and on Football Manager!
