1. We''re as good as down. The Holt and Lambert ''effect'' is what''s got us where we are and there is no-one left at CR to fill their boots.
 2. Oh dear......Reality is a tough thing to consider unfortunately.
 3. There are direct parallels between events back then and now.If City do drop down to the Second Division next season due to a lack of realistic investment, I wonder who will ultimately be considered responsible? Also... who will at that point want to invest in a Second Division club in decline and in the stranglehold of Delia Smith?  Back to square one as far as I can see.
 4.
Brendan Rodgers was given permission to speak to Liverpool.  Cant blame him either, one of europes truly great clubs.  He revives their fortunes and hes a legend, if he doesnt then hes financially secure for the rest of his life and he gave it a good go.   The board should have let him speak to Villa.   And Cluck, its not form.  Its the only way he has been able to better himself.  I personally dont blame the bloke for anything.
The term ''form'' is neither positive nor derogatory... it just describes a run of actions which are similar.I don''t blame him either as he owes Norwich nothing.... but on the other hand we owe him a great deal.
 5.
OMFG has the world gone mad.  Hes got form on this!!! No he hasnt.  Norwich are a bigger club than Colchester, colchester said no off he want.  Aston Villa are a bigger club than Norwich, Norwich said no so off he goes.  Its not form, its an ambitious young manager bettering himself.  Hes 42, why wait here for the infastructure to be put in place when its ready made at Aston Villa.   Good luck Paul Lambert.  This is no ones fault, not Lamberts and not the Clubs.  Lets just get on with it.
Sooooooooooooo...... he''s got form on it then?
 6. He has form on this so we can''t complain too much. What he''s left us is little short of a miracle and now it''s down to the club to take us forward from here.
 7. Given the managerial track record of this club over the years.... no.
 8. In the Norwich City family Mother controls the purse strings and the children can cry all they like about it.This isn''t a McNally or Bowkett issue as they can only buy toys with the pocket money they are given.
 9.
The Board give Lambert every spare penny that the club has to go towards his playing budget. If, and that''s a really big if, Lambert is going to leave because the board can''t give him any more money then I''ll personally walk him to the door. No one is worth gambling the clubs future for, and if any of you think it is then I can honestly say that I''m glad that you are not in charge of our club.   We have to be realistic and live to our means, I''d rather be debt free and secure in the Championship than I would be up to our eyeballs in debt again. Ask a Pompey if it was all worth it.
Oh FFS......This is the new face of NCFC support.Safety first and always.
 10.
Sounds good Nutty but think I''ll wait until it''s available on the torrent sites thanks.Do you think I might be onto something with the Chase/O''Neill/Windass scenario?Do you think PL might have been led to believe something which he has subsequently found out not to be the case much like M O''N back in the day? it has to be something to do with the money doesn''t it?Just like with Chase but this time without the backlash. Yet........ Now this game of yours, what precautions are available to stop doppelgangers and impersonators? I''m convinced I bumped into somebody impersonating your son last night.
This time around the ''support'' is brainwashed into seeing Delia Smith as the ''only'' ownership option if we want ''security''.Clever propaganda but neurotic to say the least.
 11.
Ok Ricky lets do it your way... A la Portsmouth, scum etc they went big time and paid off for them? Let''s let McNally do his job and look after the clubs interests. No one person is bigger than our club.
Incorrect.Delia Smith has been bigger than the club since she arrived.
 12.
Listening to most of the reports all night seems City have upset PL With their lack of ambition, why dont that surprise me, whenever we are on an upward curve we seem to self destruct through being tight. I have said it many times we will never keep a decent manager because a decent one is ambitious and might want to spend a bit.We have one of the lowest wage bills in the prem lower than Wigan, Blackburn and even Swansea by all accounts, says it all dont it. Lambert is not going to be happy surviving each year and we wont even do that if we dont add quality, So well done City another good un lost. I dont think PL was even being greedy just felt we needed to add as it will be even harder next year.
PL is that ''once in a generation'' manager who suited NCFC down to the ground.PL is NCFC in our current incarnation and we should all be very annoyed if the reason for his deperture is revealed to be anything other than for ''personal'' reasons.
 13.

The fact is Robert Chase would be to blame for it all and anyone with an ounce of honesty knows it.
This is undeniably true and clearly the point that was made in the opening post. The pro Delia lobby will seize upon any opportunity to foist their extremist views upon anyone, these views are not in any way relevant to this thread, perhaps since the thread is being closely moderated the off topic posts could be removed?
Very good suggestion.Naturally I knew this question would bring the Delia protectionists out in force.... but the point is a fair one and needs to be brought out into the open.
 14. I can handle the Deliarite abuse as you all know.... but the hypocrisy?  That''s another thing entirely. The fact is Robert Chase would be to blame for it all and anyone with an ounce of honesty knows it.
 15. And the brainwashed Deliarites rush to their Saviour''s defence. How very predictable.
 16. Culverhouse is not City born and bred and will have no career loyalty to NCFC.He will know of the constraints placed on PL during his tenure as manager and will follow PL if he''s got any sense.
 17.

....but will McNally welcome him back after the talks if he decides not to go....that''s the question!
Lambert''s gone and people should stop pretending it doesn''t matter -- his superior signings are likely to follow leaving us a team bereft of that Lambert spirit and a side that will struggle to remain in the Premier - and why? Because the club is not ambitious enough to put the necessary funds in.Be angry at the Board first and fore-mostly.
The bubble has burst as it was always going to do.They have been gifted a large amount of money by PL which they didn''t deserve.... now it''s up to them to stop the slide.
 18.
Regardless of what happens, we''ve had a good run and you can''t do anything about it. If he''s done what he''s allegedly done, he did same to Colchester and will do same to Villa.
I feel a ''Judas'' post won''t be long in coming......
 19.

The Villa fans on Twitter seem to think its a done deal as of course he''ll join them. They clearly know nothing about the canny Scotsman. I wouldn''t want to join any company if I knew I was 3rd choice for the job, so I would imagine that someone like Lambert would not either.
Evening Lads. Villa fan in peace One personal note i''d be happy if we end up with PL, but wouldn''t be sad if he decided to stay put at NCFC as he has started a project and it would be interesting to see how far he could get yourselve''s. I was glad to see you boys back in the Premier League as you were one of the teams that fought for the 1st PL title with ourselves and Man Utd, Hopefully whatever happens NCFC stay in the premiership where they belong(IMHO).   But there is a few things that have been said on here that are incorrect so i will try and put them right.   PL was never 3rd Choice, from everything i''ve heard since McGash was rightfully sacked, he has ben No1 on the fans list aswell as the owners. It seems we have interviewed a fare few people for the job, but considering how our board messed up the last appointment, i think it was right they spoke to as many candidates as possible. Here''s a post from the local Birmingham radio station that PL was 1st choice   "Tom Ross Tom Ross ‏@thegoalzone Villas number one target is Paul Lambert the Norwich manager.. Villa still have to go through interview etc " Now i''m not saying its correct but if you ask any Villa fan about info coming out of the club they will tell you that it very rarely happens unless the powers that be give the ok. I see the press are saying that we were interested in Martinez and i think after showing his loyality last season to wigan that impressed Randy Lerner, but this time round, he didnt want to be interviewed until he knew if he got the Scousepool job, the word in brum is his agent contact villa today to request an interview but was told that they were looking at others, and proberly felt that he was only interested once he knew he wasnt getting the LFC job.   Anyway whatever happens i hope you have another good season and are still in the premiership next year, all the best and whatever will be will be.   UTV SOTC
If he goes to Villa he goes with my admiration and utmost respect.A great young manager on his way to the top.... so don''t be too upset if he moves on elsewhere in due course.
 20. I think we should let Delia decide........She''s never let us down before. [Y]

 24.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/aston-villa-specials/next-permanent-manager
Mathematically those odds imply there''s a 25/143 chance of Lambert going to Villa which means the odds are overwhelmingly against this happening. Panic over!!
Amost the same odds as winning the Euromillions then......Phew......that''s certainly reassuring news.
