1. THE ONE THING EVERYONE ON THE COACHING STAFF THERE WILL QUICKLY SEE IS THAT HE IS EPITOME OF THE MODERN FOOTBALLER -HE LIVES HIS LIFE PROPERLY HES DEDICATED AND HES A FANTACTIC TRAINER ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Epitome of a modern footballer  ?..........    ( goes into cynical mode )    I actually thought  that the epitome of the modern footballer  is to  do the least amount of work ... for the most amount of cash !     that being a pro footballer  meant a life  of  clubs and pubs , flashy cars  ,  unlimited free time to spend  on a playboy lifestyle  ,  and toss down   body wrecking  cocktails and drugs   .....  gee ! its a real shame that  once or twice a week  they have to actually   RUN ! onto  a field   .... must be a  bit of a drag that ,   but , never mind , you can`t be fired , you have your bleeding contract !   so you can mooch about   , and go through the motions  ...... ( snaps out of cynical mode )    you must be joking Duffy !      did you see the calibre  of the  modern  English footballer   during the world cup ?   club before country mate !   and they aint so hot for their clubs !    can`t see the goal , can`t get NEAR the goal  ... as for penalties  ?   [:''(]
 2. Stop sobbing !   Rae  goes to Cardiff ( a bit of a dump ! )    with a history of knee injuries !    remember knees ? its those joints that, once weakened , finish off more footballers careers  than any other injury .....
 3.
I remember Imre Varadi.........and his distant cousin and star of the silent movies, "Ollie".....[:|]
Good one Mello ! [:D] Sheff wed ?  why ?  Varadi is an agent !    since when have agents shown any loyalty to anything other that their bank balance`s  ?  scum of the earth that they are ......
 4.
I''m always happy to hear from other fans (provided they haven''t come on here to antagonise). Another perspective often makes you look at things in a different way. Freshens up the gene pool!
Gene pool ?   I don`t mind  visits from  fans of other clubs  ,  but  do we have to have sex as well ?  LOL
 5. Tudalen en yn cynnig y dewis  rhwng feriwn,  Gymraeg a feriwn Saesneg gwefan , Prifysgol Cymru, Aberystwyth ! The town is pretty ordinary ,  but ... come on !   if you have transport ,  and like scenery ,  it`ll be on your doorstep !   enjoy !!  note for mods , the Welsh  bit isn`t norty ! [;)]
 6.
flippn'' henry some people on here haven''t got a bloody clue... We are getting the division 1 right back of the season ON A FREE!!! What more do you want??? Christ some people...  if he turns out to be crap, so be it.  But we can''t hope for much better a deal than this at the moment.
On a free Foggy ?  aint no such thing !   his agent gets his fee  ,  and he draws what in wages from Jul  1 ?   try to remember that he  can thank Dario Gradi  for rescuing him from obscurity  ( Rotherham , free ,  Crewe , free , Hull city , loan , Bolton , loan , lpool  , trainee , not wanted ,  back to Crewe ..... waits till his contract runs out )       and his thanks for this ?   a two fingered salute !   Crewe , who rely on selling players to survive ,   are robbed of a fee  for his transfer !    I`m  NOT liking what I know of this guy so far !  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In that sense, Dario Gradi and Crewe saved his career. His attitude was a problem from the very start – he came late for pre-season training because he said that he thought there was a longer holiday period – and a good game against Manchester United in the Carling served only to inflate his ego. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- See what I mean ?
 7.
I hate the thing and like a lot have said it has no place near a football ground ,it would not have been so bad had the design been better but it is just a  big square ugly box absolutly hate it.
I agree, its one ugly building !  and thats my only beef ..... I believe the deal was a good one  , a win win !   and we DO get a share of the profits ?
 8.

His ambition was to play for Liverpool !   they didn`t want him .....  neither , it seems did many other clubs  !   so , really , it does look like we`re   stuck with a player   who might well think he`d be slumming it at Norwich ?   I hope I`m proved wrong about him  ,  as has been said , we`ll know  when he`s played enough games ....
And how many clubs didn''t want Huckerby after a year or two? I''m sure he joined Newcastle cos he was ambitious, but for one reason and another it didn''t work out. Thats the difference between then and now, the moaners used to at least give a player the chance to pull on the shirt before passing judgement, nowadays the knives are out before they''ve even turned off the southern bypass towards Colney. Collectively far too many City fans have taken to behaving like petulant, impatient spoiled children. I hope you''re proved wrong too, but sadly you come across as being likely to gain as much pleasure from all the "told you so"s if you''re proved right. Prove me wrong! [;)]
I don`t know how Hucks fits into this  ?   all through his career he`s been a professional  ! he`s taken care of himself  , and has earned  his reputation  !!   whereas Otsomobor   is barely   out of his teens , but already is carrying  some  " baggage  "  , I`m sure I don`t need to  go into exactly what , but its  hardly  encouraging  .....  but if he turns out massive  , I wont complain !    if it goes tits up ? well I`m only human  !  I`ll try hard not to have a little gloat LOL
 9.
This is ridiculous, people judging the guy before we''ve seen him play and before he''s really set foot in the club. He''s showing ambition by leaving Crewe fo Norwich! Doesn''t everyone think that this is a good thing?     WELCOME JON OTSEMEBOR IT''S GOOD TO HAVE YOU ON BOARD, I HOPE YOU HAVE A LONG AND SUCCESSFUL CAREER AT NORWICH CITY FC.
 10.

Thing is Temp , all Dario wanted of Otsemobor  is for him to sign a new contract , as this would mean Crewe gets a fee ....   after all thats  how Crewe survive really !  for Otsomobor  to sign  would have  had NO significance  on his transfer prospects  , so I can understand Dario getting pissed off  with him !   Otsemobor says the proffered terms were " derogatory "  ....   meaning what ?   his valuation of himself   is so much higher  than Dario`s estimate ?   great !  he knows better than  a manager with years of success   ,   Granty will just lerve  managing  a player  with such a high opinion of himself  !  I don`t think !!
Ok sheded, I see where you''re coming from.  The truth is that only Semi, his agent & Crewe know what really happened.  However, I can only pass on to you what I have been told by one of my mates who is quite close to what goes on at Gresty Road.  The contract they offered him was apparently for LESS money than he was already on and included a number of  clauses that the players weren''t happy with.  Billy Jones was in the same boat, hence why he never signed a new contract either.  Add to that the fact that Semi never settled in Crewe and was unhappy, and maybe you see why he didn''t sign.......
Its now all in the past Temp ,  the deals done ,  we have Otsemobor for three years ( God help us ! " )   all that remains  is for him to  do the business !   his  future is in his hands .....  [:)]
 11.
As long as he has ultimate control of himself on and off the pitch it will be nice to see a Norwich player with a bit of "attitude", most winners have it and as long as you (very) occasionally accept that there will be a price to pay (the odd sending off) he will get the crowd on his side and become a real favourite. We have had a team of "nice" players for far too long. Mark .Y.
Cant fault that Mark ....  positive or negative attitudes  !   its up to Otsomobor to prove  that his " cv "   is a red herring  !    and I agree that  the team need  some  dynamite  stuck in its arse  ....  after all ,  a team busting its guts   is what the crowd pays to see  ....   he`s here now , lets see what he`s made of !

 14.
Would a breakaway league be so bad? the 6 biggest teams from england, spain & italy should all sod off and form a super league they can take sky with them and give us our national sport back as it should be!
In fact , I suggested  this a while ago , in another thread !     where the league  breaks away from the corrupt  FA and Sky  , including those elements of the league committee    who are  in  the pockets of the FA and Sky  !!    lets have  football as it should be .....  no crappy  alternative names ( dreamed up by some suit that thinks football  is a disease of the foot )  for what IS div one to  four .....  give the  5 main TV channels  the rights to  televise   all the div matches   on a pre-arranged  and fair basis   , so that the   ALL the divs  obtain  a fair share of the  revenue  ,  then the FA and Sky can  get bleedin stuffed !   along with the slimy  parasitical agents !
 15.

He has had discipline problems in the past.. as indeed has Chris Brown. this is a little bit worrying to be totally honest, the kind of player Grant is brining in seems to be an arrogant one. We could end up like Newcastle.. Too many egos who dont care if this keeps up. jas :)
I really don''t think theres too much to worry about from Grant on the discipline front. He doesn''t strike me as the sort of manager you take the mickey out of, frankly. Hadn''t Huckerby fallen out with Keegan before we signed him? What a let down he turned out to be, eh? This isn''t aimed at you Jas, because you were pretty objective in your comments as usual, but some of the same old fare from the usual suspects on here is depressing.
DID  Hucks fall out with keegan  before we signed him ? first I`ve heard about it !     bad anology !    Hucks V Otsomobor  ? where`s  the comparison ?   Hucks  has some 12 + years  in football  , without ANY  of the crap   that is now associated  with a  guy  who hasn`t been  a pro for five minutes , so to speak ..... My stance is that we have finally got rid of the bad attitude " players "  , and now we are starting to buy  more of `em !    you infer that Grant is able to keep the likes of Otsomobor   on the straght and narrow ?   just HOW is he going to do that ?    he`s a Liverpool and Crewe reject  FFS !   how many clue`s do we need  before  the penny drops ?
 16. Ok ok   I`m dead miserable and unfair  to  " pre-judge "   a player   before he`s had a chance to show what he`s all about !   but  , lets face it ,  Otsemobor is now in his twenties , and flaws in his make up wont go away easily !    they  WILL  surface   when things  don`t go the way HE wants  ......   all most of you are actually saying , is that you HOPE  he`ll turn out ok !    ......  that you HOPE   Granty can    " reform "  him  ....... thats all he needs  !  trying to rebuild a team , and playing social worker   to a hard case !!    time will tell ....
 17. I quote Dario Gradi: "Jon''s performances have been terrific since we fell out over the contract" "A less honest player might think he ought to let in three goals in that case, but I can''t fault Jon''s attitude when he has played."    Mr _Chimp ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- " since we  FELL OUT  over the contract "   !!   doesn`t THAT spell it out ? how do you fall out with a guy like Dario Gradi  ?  The reality is that Dario Gradi has had several  run ins with Otsomobor !  not least when he strolled in days late for pre season training !     so good for Liverpool that he was booted off to play for Crewe  , AND , no way did they want him back ! ask yourself why ?  Shot in the arse in a seedy Liverpool nightclub  , disciplinary  problems , attitude problems  , ohhh boy !  [:''(]
 18.
yay he will be a good sighing
That typo may be more prophetic  than you think  !     all the signs  point to Otsomobor  having a serious discipline problem  , not to mention attitude !   sorry to put a negative on this ,  but I think  he`s going to be a problem .....   [;)]
 19.
Knowing that you''re a big fan of Cloughie, I was wondering whether you''ve read The Damned United by David Peace. If you''ve not heard of it, it''s an account of his 44 days in charge of Leeds and mixes what we know from reported events with the writers own thoughts on what was going through Cloughie''s head. I''ve just finished reading it and found it thoroughly enjoyable. I never realised that the brash persona that we saw on the television hid such a fragile personality, racked with self doubt. P.S. Despite the title of the thread I would recommend the book to anyone!
Thanks Shack !   thats one I haven`t read ....  on order  as of now ,   a very complex man was Clough  !    Have you read  one of his autobiographies , " Walking on water "  ,  " Clough , a biography "   , " Life of Brian "  ,   or " provided you don`t kiss me "  , by  Duncan Hamilton  , among others .....   ol` big head  was a true one off ,   he had a knack  of cutting right through   the bullshit  !   only one boss at Forest  .... even the board   did what they were told , LOL   ... Sadly ,    I can`t see any  way that a present day manager   could get anywhere near   the success rate that he had  !   we now have  ... agents !   ...  and  the  " bigheads " are now the players !   overpaid  , under talented  ,  gits !     [:''(]     playboys who can`t even be arsed to learn  the trade   , spend more  time at the hair dressers  than on the field practicing  ,  the few players who DO   try to earn  their wages  , stand out like pearls in pigshit   ...........[U]
 20.  Now is the time to leave the club to someone who knows ''how to cook'' in the world of football. norfolkbroadslim -------------------------------------------------------------------- Since when is it a prerequisite  for  investors in a football club  to be experts in football ?     you want your bread buttered on both sides !   get real .....
 21.
I was just sitting her wondering.....Anyone think the board reads these?
Cause they do !   I know for a fact that MWJ   posts on here !!  Delia !   congrats on another  TV series , and the book thats going to be a world wide big seller !!    sheer genius  to cut through the snobby  crap  , and give the unwashed masses   what they want ......  easy fast cooking  , no hassle ,  healthy food  , it aint cheating !  its lateral thinking  ....  And Delia ... contact that F*****g Ramsey   ,  and get it going on  some sort of deal  !     he`s said he likes a f*****g challenge  !
 22. marvin elliot is supposed to be the next target  for us ? Maybe Grant should think twice about him ?    He`s refused Millwalls offer ofa new contract , which is fair enough , BUT  , and here is a warning sign , he only started playing well at the Den ,  WHEN   he refused to sign !    haven`t we had a few players with  THAT  syndrome ?   only getting their fingers out when they are on the market !   and always putting a value on themselves far above the talent  they actually have ....  Elliot  is obviously looking for the prem big money  , and if  they don`t want him , we , for example , will be second best !  and very likely to be disgruntled , a perfect recipe  for being a pain in the arse to the rest of the team !   a one season  " wonder " who wont pull his weight   until HE thinks it necessary ......  [:|]
 23. Sorry about making yet another goddam thread ,  LOL ,     but I thought  it should be  said  , that  the MAIN  problems  we`ve had , over the last three seasons   ,   stems from piss poor player attitude !   ( Hucks  not inc [:D] )   not to mention a few piss poor players !  the rot began in the prem season  ,  and just got worse  !     the atmosphere in the dressing room  must have been lousy !   The blame for this HAS to be laid , not at the door of Delia and the board  , but at the door of the manager  and the back room staff  , they were weak !   it was  THEIR  job to get a grip of the situation  , and they failed  , they allowed the  culprit players to dominate them !  result ? we just haven`t had a  TEAM  for 3 seasons !   we`ve all witnessed  the results ......  [:''(] But , now,  there`s a wind of change !   a lot of the deadbeat staff  has got the boot   , and so have a lot of the deadbeat players....  good riddance !      Grant has brought some of his scots cronies in  , which was predictable , and , as far as I `m concerned  , whatever works !     next season should be quite interesting  ....
