  1. FFS, McLean back in. Would rather have had Vrancic or Tettey instead.
  2. Does that take into account a massive increase in number of coconuts? I remember reading that you had more chance of being killed by a fridge than winning the lottery, but as with the stairs, I can see a fridge coming and actively try to avoid it if needed, not so much with pandemics 😉
  3. Kerbside delivery. I'm not lugging anything upstairs, that's the customers problem.
  4. I can avoid stairs if I want (have lived in flats and bungalows for nearly 20 years), I can't avoid Covid that easily, especially when unlike stairs - I can't see it.
  5. Well, if it's only a 0.05% chance of of being hit and dying from the bomb, I guess it's no more worrying than Covid right?
  6. This. The amount of people just flat out refusing to follow even simple guidelines is staggering, and a softly softly approach just doesn't work. Personally I'm very much afraid of catching covid, being overweight and diabetic puts me already at a higher risk than the average person, and I don't really care if the odds are 'only' 0.05% or whatever, I don't want to be in that percentage, and certainly don't want to be there just because someone decided it was imperative I still keep delivering fridges for people's mancaves instead of being safe. We have to consider the economy and mental health issues overall though, but I do feel allowance needs to be made for people who are at higher risk instead of just sending them into work regardless and simply hoping they not only don't catch it, but don't have a serious case and die from it.
  7. Reminds me of Hughton bringing on defensive mids when we were 2-0 down...
  8. We've played some good stuff and should have had at least 2 goals, but had moments of utter cack as well. All to play for in the 2nd half, but we need to maintain possession a bit better and stop clumping together as much.
  9. Exactly the line-up I wanted and posted before the game. If it doesn't work, there will be no complaints from me.
  10. That's simply not true broady. In our last promotion season, Vrancic scored 10 and assisted 7, out of the 10 goals, SEVEN were scored in games where he played the full 90 minutes, and four of his seven assists were also where he played for 80+ minutes (3 x 90 and 1x85). So 70% of his goals and 57% of his assists came when he played the full match rather than coming on as a sub. I don't know where this idea has come from that he's only a super sub or can't play a full game, the stats don't lie (and neither did my eyes in that season).
  11. I don't think it was simply Idah falling and putting his hands out, looked clearly like a reaction to me, and that action is always going to lead to a red card. Should still have been a yellow for the initial tackle though.
  12. You can't react to a poor tackle by pushing your opponent to the floor as you get up. In an ideal world, that wouldn't be a red because the previous tackle was bad, but as soon as you raise hands to an opponent these days, then a red card is coming and ALL players know this. I can't see us appealing it either, as the replay clearly shows Idah getting up, arguably leaving his foot in, then pushing the guy down in the upper chest in the process. Silly mistake, I think he'll learn from it.
  13. Plenty of young players are signed for the future and immediately loaned to clubs on the continent to get around work permit issues, and it's no different with Soto. He cost us NOTHING as his contract had expired at Hannover, clearly has potential and represents a minor gamble with major possible results, so loaning him out for a year or so is no drama at all.
  14. How many times are we going to have to pull something out because of a defender making a simple mistake every game? You can be great for 89 minutes, but if in that remaining minute you let them score, the result can be awful. Sadly we've got a long history of having defenders who can be excellent for the majority of the game, but then suddenly switch off or lose the plot out of nowhere and boom - goal conceded, or boom - penalty given away. I'm not going to lambast Hanley for failing to clear when they scored, but I do hope we can stop this silly little lapses as it keeps costing us. Also, I think Hanley was better than Gibson today.
  15. 2nd SMUG FACE in as many games 😄
  16. It should never have got to that situation and Hanley should absolutely just have belted it out instead of doing jack all.
  17. Zeppelin carrying a rainbow unicorn to drop a cannonball on the Wycombe manager, who deflects it with his 1970's leather jacket...
  18. According to VAR, breathing is a penalty...
  19. Either we've got some fans who need a drive to Barnard castle, or we've been invaded by Wycombe fans...
  20. If that's a pen, then we may as well tell defenders to not bother jumping for headers anymore. Soft isn't the word, liquid would be more accurate if that was given...
  21. I didn't think it was ever a pen, and was convinced it wasn't after the replay. Totally agree ref the yellow as well.
  22. Hanley becoming the new Doherty/Bassong/...
  23. Everything I've seen about Omobamidele is that he's a bright prospect but still too raw at this point. Another year of development however...
