  1. I know Yul Bryner was one and maybe Charles Bronson
  2. Seems he played in midfield for England U19 v Spain-  Do you think England U19s could beat champioship sides ??? Just play the youth and see what happens we can only lose 3points
  3. However bad they play they stay for the next game. It is like an exclusive club. Play in form players in their positions and stop accomodating out of form individuals no matter who they are and how good they can be. Weak Management ,caused by player pressure to keep their mates in the team-Drop a couple and they will not be so complacent. We need a team which might not be the best 11 players on paper.
  4. Be interesting if some of the fringe players want to play so they can impress whoever is watching
  5. After the inept performance on Saturday of our national side I have decided to watch our Reserve Side on wednesday rather than the qualifier on the box-Support the reserve side rather than the overpaid and  underperforming-might be interesting to see who turns up to watch-Our new Manager? Post if you see any clues on the night
  6. Does anyone have a job they can offer him, he could be doorman at Delias
  7. I see that Rob Newman wants to involved in the new generation at Norwich. Please do not allow him anywhere near our players. Cambridge United were at their lowest depths when he arrived  and he made it worse. He is possibly the poorest coach I have ever seen and has no tactical awareness- he says he is doing some scouting ,I hope he enjoys their company and stays in a tent somewhere as far away as possible -Nice Bloke but no idea!
  8. Hunter has worked with some of the best young players in the country who have moved through to the senior squad. His qualifications as a coach are second to none in the country. His contacts and credibility within the game are first class. Players especially young ones will want to join the academy. Go for a Coach who can become a Manager not a Manager who cannot coach. I believe the players want Hunter and stability and I believe the youth will benefit in the long term. Give some reasons for your choice of manager apart from he used to play for the club and the fans liked him.
  9.   Last Saturday result at colney; Norwich Youth 5 West Ham Youth 2  it could have been 10 seems our Youth is not too bad
  10. Dear Nigel or may I call you Nutty 1.You spent money on some very poor goods and old fashioned models which have failed to deliver, so I question your ability to utilise our cash wisely- they cannot not be returned 2 You contantly blame the workers but they are the workers that you interviewd, so I question your recruitment ability. Did you ever ask these workers for references or to pass a practical or to see their qualifications 3 Your apprenticeship scheme seems to operate on a very unfair basis and you discriminate against local boys 4 you have sacked unfairly members of your staff who could, had they not have been compensated by the club taking you to an industrial tribunal 5 You fail to see the talent that is under your nose therefore I feel you also fail on medical grounds
  11. Dear Nigel If you had played the youngsters from the start of the season and things had gone poorly people would have accepted that you were building for the future and been on your side, but I am struggling to see your long term plan. You appear to be fighting fires and are very reactive instead of being pro-active.You call yourself a Manager but  I see no evidence of this in the decisions you make. You are fortunate in having a contract worth a £1000000,because in any other business you would be in a review process leading to disciplinary procedure for poor performance. Football Management is a very priviledge position and in a way I feel you are abusing this. What is your ultimate ambition apart from hanging onto your job and messing with your young employees. You have a duty of care to young footballers and I feel you are falling short.Eagle and Jarvis performed for you and got no loyalty back but Delia is loyal to you      Boyle and Dublin will be your nemisis   I sent Nigel a copy and I suggest you all write him a personal letter that is not offensive but is objective
  12. Somehow you have completely missed by point either deliberately or by accident, I hope any one else reading this will be able to understand. You sound like you want the Youth to be poor. I will remember not to respond to any more of your posts- I was trying to give a reasoned opinion.
  13. Having watched the game please allow me to provide you with the full facts. We put out a complete Youth side apart from Louis Jean at full back for 75 minutes against a experienced Northampton side including 5 from their first team squad including an international in Quinn and many young pros. Alot of their team had league experienced and it was really men against boys, some of the men could have qualified for the World Wrestling Federation. 5/6 of our fringe/Youth players were involved in the previous nights cup game and were not available. The game should/could have been rearranged and with the side that has played previously would IMO have got a result. I hope that in the future players like Fleming and even Dublin can play in this team with some youngters and pass on their experience. This was some of the youth teams first experiece at this level and all things considered they did as good as they could.
  14. Please lets use our own players first. There seems to be a feeling that Boyle is something special. IMO we have borrowed a teenage Academy product from Everon and no one can tell me if he is any good  but people are ear making him to replace Hucks. Cover for Drury if he is not available maybe but what about our young pros, they must be well pleased with Nigel watching Boyle cover for their positions. Are we ever going to try our boys for a prolonged period or just keep bringing in other clubs castoffs. We have young players at international level but we still dont want them in the team. Great man management Nigel!
  15. With the change of opposition from Premier Reserve league to Pontins league how many will turn up tonight. It would be good to get some support or do people only turn up to see the opposition. Lets get behind the youngsters and get another win at Home
  16. It was Patrick Bexfield at left back at Fakenham and Cambridge united, he is still Youth team player although he went on pre season tour. NW said how well he played. Is he the only other two footed player at the club?.Hewas also was the young player of the year and is one to watch this year
  17. The squirrel it appears was only 9 months old and is classed as a youth, so unfortunately although it has talent it will have to wait until its nuts drop which will be next season when it might be allowed on the bench
  18. Dear Donny 1fan You need to get you lad down for a trial- who does he play for and how old-contact the club.Or maybe you think you have seen better through those rose tinted glasses. Your comment sums up exactly what I am saying in my thread
  19. Where the quality of the goods is not fit fo the purpose go to another retailer dont keep whinging outside the shop and shouting at the young assistants.
  20.     P W D L For Agt GD Pts 1 Chelsea U18 27 16 5 6 44 21 +23 53 2 Southampton U18 25 16 4 5 66 29 +37 52 3 West Ham United U18 27 13 6 8 51 38 +13 45 4 Arsenal U18 26 11 4 11 44 43 +1 37 5 Norwich City U18 25 10 5 10 30 31 -1 35 6 Charlton Athletic U18 26 8 4 14 33 43 -10 28 7 Fulham U18 26 8 4 14 28 45 -17 28 8 Ipswich Town U18 26 7 6 13 43 58 -15 27 9 Crystal Palace U18 26 7 5 14 49 57 -8 26 10 Millwall U18 25 6 7 12 27 44 -17 25 Here is the league table for the Youth team and on thursday they will play Arsenal away at 11am. As you can see the results and league position are reasonable and look where Ipswich are.I say this because I am sick and tired of listening to people moaning and groaning about the game on Monday and the relative ability of the Reserve side and how poor the youth was.  Reserve results have to be put into perpective and at the start of the season injuries were responsible for lack of players and poor results. It is also apparent that the top sides have enormous strength in depth and are able to have three squads 1st team Reserves Youth and on occasions the reserve teams consist of unused multi million pound talent.Very few youth team players appear in these sides whereas our young players can be playing up to 5 games in 10days until recently when senior players became available . I agree the performances of the 1st teamers has been poor as have the results of the 1st team but why start a campaign against the youngsters who need encouragement rather than some of the unconstructive crticism that abounds on this message board. Having been at the game and listened to the conversations it was abit like the crowds during the french revolution who wanted as many heads as possible. Many of you are unaware of how lucky you are to actually have a fairly solvent club and a youth policy and you hatred against the management appears to cloud some logical comments and thoughts. Those youngsters making their way compete on a weekly basis against the cream of english and european youth and do well, recently beating the best team in the country in Southampton. They may not be ready for the Championship but you need to realise how good they are to be there in the first place, they may not be the best in the country but they should not be included in your own disgust with the present position of the club which could be worse. You could be bankrupt and in the conference.get over that you got relegated and stop feeling sorry for your selves and get behind them. I was disgusted by some comments I heard on Monday night, people turned up expecting failure and this was communicated through the ground,so its been a bad season there is plenty of clubs and supporters who would swap.I just hope you accept that when NW plays a yougster you have a degree of compassion and accept he will make mistakes. I know you pay you money and you are entitled to you say but please give it a rest. Any decent young player will not want to come to the club and the others already here will want to go.Many of you as I have said  in the past jump on overcrowded band wagons- get off think for yourself and be positive-you could even try a Smile
  21. The winning goal was as a result of handball from Fisk( dubious) and not down to Bexfield. The report on the Norwich site is incorrect. where it says he pulled down Haynes I think you will also find that Bexfield is a centre midfield player and in the 30 mins he was on looked the only one capable of creating anything and that was from left back ( he swapped with Cave Brown),at least he can pass. Better that than the hoof hoof from the others
  22. What Huckeby said is that at present they are not ready and this is about strength and physical developement. He mentions that unless they are exceptional which IMO enables them to compensate for lack of a physical presence it is best they are allowed to develope. What is the point in putting a potential player into the first team to see them knocked about lose their confidence and after a short honeymoon get the crowd on their back, At present there is a potential at the Academy which does not include  Ryan Jarvis and Henderson who are real professionals and as yet heve failed to deliver consistently at the highest level, for these men NW must decide and in my opinion they are a better option in the correct positions than some others,  Do not confuse 16 and 17 year boys with the finished article even Walcott was purchased for potential, Without doubt there are players with more pace more technical ability  and better footballing skills in the Academy but without strength they will flounder. Huckerby has played at the highest level and knows what it takes to survive and become a real player. The talk of certain youngsters being the answer comes from people who have never seen them play, Under 18 Youth team football is played at an incredible speed and is mostly about technique, passing and movement it is about developement, it is not all about winning-maybe it does not prepare them for the real world. Recent Reserve games where the team has been made up of a high percentage of senior players has highlighted particular Academy players who have the ability to play and move forward at the club but they have been helped during the game by these senior players. Shackell was outstanding when playing as was Jurgen and last week at Arsenal Peter Thorne, As good as some of the boys are I  agree they are not ready but they are there!
  23. The Early Learning Centre would save lots of problems
  24. You seem to know more about the goings on at Colney than the press especially concerning contracts. You may well be right in what you say but who is asking you to say this- the kids. Telling people that 5 year contracts have been offered will have an affect on the rest of the boys-leave it to the club to make official announcements even if you know you are correct.
