  1. What a nice feeling to discuss the play-offs and not worry about our prospects. I would go to Cardiff again but that was a nail biting day and would be even worse second time round with the level of expectancy. For the record, Millwall and Reading won''t make the playoffs, the Blades won''t either if they lose to our friends. Sunderland and Wigan will fill 3rd and 4th places while the remaining spots will be fought over between the the Binners, Ammers or Palace. I think the number of goals the Binmen have conceded will count against them as it is so tight and Palace and the Ammers will make it. The Cats will recover their composure and beat Pardew''s lot while Palace, having peaked too early will struggle past Wigan only to lose on penalties to a motivated Sunderland in Cardiff. BFJ on the dole before July Wait and see...
  2. I think I saw him in Asda this morning...
  3. Congratulations to DH and to all those who voted for him. DH has totally vindicated NW and the board and changed the whole nature of the club. He (with some help from his friends) has made all Norwich fans believe instead of dream.
  4. CR have announced that the pitch will be for sale in 2ft x 1ft squares for a tenner a time next Tuesday from the shop. I''ll have some of that.
  5. Gazza The Captain produced another dire performance not even forcing a save from Harry the Hornet. As we will have a limited budget for playing staff we may have to make do with what we have or perhaps make some costume alterations to aid penalty taking? It does not bode well however. If CC cannot get it right at the Mad, the Vic or even Carrow what hope at Old Trafford?
  6. Im disappointed by this. I was looking forward to chanting "Deano" in years to come as he seemed a quality prospect. That''s why I''m not a manager at a soon to be Premiership club and NW is so I can''t question his decision really. Unfortunate though as he had been with the club since he was 10.
  7. At last, a proper excuse to watch the snooker. Would be nice to see him at Carrow Rd though to lead OTBC - not for Preston as I''m sure he will still be busy
  8. Being an exile (well, Surrey) I only got my delivery of this week''s EDPs on Saturday morning. I was surprised to say the least when I saw I had been mentioned twice in the promotion round up! As well as being mentioned in the paper on Thursday, the EDP gave almost half a page over to messages from this board with many regulars getting a mention on Saturday. Being fairly new to the board is this something the EDP does regularly or just on special occasions?
  9. I am a Roberts fan, Zipper and I believe we should put the Big Man on a 1 year deal to concentrate on reserves football to give Hendo/Crow/Jarvis the benefit of his gap toothed experience. After misses at Burnley and now Watford among others he can no longer compete for a place against Svens or Leon (it really hurts to admit that). Sentimentality should not play a part in the running of football clubs but does because of the emotions involved. After all, this week has seen justified high praise go to the players, coaches and the board but, as was pointed out earlier in the thread, the Big Man scored goals for us when we were in our darkest hour and division two was a possibility - he deserves special thanks for his contribution before most of today''s protagonists were at the club . To forget his efforts when we now have the financial resources to reward his loyalty and commitment to the cause would be a mistake of the kind this board does not make. The scenario is this, give Iwan a one year deal, send him on the courses to get his coaching badges and make him reserve team captain for next season. The wet-behind-the ears Premiership reserve defenders won''t know whats hit them!
  10. My sympathy is with Sunderland. The Baggies do have luck on their side (as we do (any room for Mr Barry on top of the bus?!)) but the Cats have overcome serious financial problems to finish strongly with a new squad after disposing of so many players. I would have liked to have seen the Cats in second place as we have had a good relationship with the club since 1986 and their fans are 1st class people eg Mackemlad. Just hope they do the business in playoffs
  11. Temp, I am in the away end too (will be a little odd). I was going to wear my shirt under another top because it doesn''t have a collar. At full time change shirts and join the party. What do you think?
  12. Nice work Morty. Be careful not to push them to extinction however, as people might start pitying them!
  13. I am disappointed that so many of you found it hard to get a drink in Watford. I went to Mac''s Bar (two minutes from the ground) they were showing the Sunderland and had a beer garden full of yellow and green - close to 200 I reckon. The singing in the pub was good while perhaps a more surreal experience was the kids cutting up their yellow pages on the grass in time for the match. We got into the ground at 2.15 and have to say it was the best atmosphere since Cardiff. There was a wall of noise for almost 2 hours! Couldn''t believe Delia came and sat about 6 seats away from me as well. Got a photo and a kiss so well chuffed. Did feel a bit sorry for her with all the attention but I suppose she was expecting it. Captain Canary really does need to be taken to Colney for some penalty practice. I think he scored one at Reading but consistently gets beaten. I think he will need to raise his game next year in the Premiership otherwise we may be looking for a replacement come the transfer window. Well done everyone.
  14. Nice point Fool. We are there to be shot at in the Cups next season. Everyone wants a Premiership scalp and understandably, survival will be NW''s first priority.
  15. Just read on the Pink Un site that we won''t be having any Easter fixtures because of England internationals next year. Therefore the mid season break experiment has been postponed until 2005-2006. What are we going to do without a mid season break?!!! We''ve just had two games postponed in 11 months time!!! Its certainly a different scenario to enjoy. The realisation of it all has just struck - PREMIERSHIP - WE''RE HAVING A LAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I think the under used second verse of the Mackenzie chant should be sung tomorrow Mackenzie, woah Mackenzie, woah He played for Barry Fry, He made the scummers cry Mackenzie, woah Genius!
  17. I think NW is concentrating on the title for now so the fringe players won''t be getting their chance. If the title is sewn up by Crewe we may see some experimentation there.
  18. Petula Clark''s "Down Town"? - Sorry, couldn''t resist!!!
  19. As we have a squad number does that make us eligible for the Barry Butler? Would be a quirky but derserved twist to the end of the season...
  20. This isnt an original thread... I got into work at 9.00 this morning and have just finished reading (not going there any more!) the reports and the amazing threads/posts here. I can''t add anything else and agree with you all. DD in a previous thread mentioned all of you on here. I would go anywhere and do anything for City and I know you all would too. This board has made me feel so strong realising others felt the same level of passion that I feel. Thank you very much for enabling me to become part of something so much bigger. Congratulations on your faith in the boys and club, you are about to be rewarded.
  21. Don''t want I****** to go up. After reading Mackem Lads posts and speaking to a mate in Sunderland I think no one would begrudge the Cats a place with us. They were hard done by on Sunday and will do us a favour tonight - I have been promised!!!
  22. Wasn''t Martin Butler''s third at Rotherham? I believe there is an argument he fouled Greeno to do it
  23. Great post Fool. Just have a quiet moment and consider all those memories people have been talking about and adding to this board about promotion in 1972. Starting with tonight a whole new tranche of memories that will last for the rest of your life will begin. In decades to come, you will be able to ask any City fan "Where were you when you heard we were promoted?", and then you will both reel off the promotion side together, Green , Drury.... For some of us it will be a defining moment in our lives - it is that big. Give it 100% tonight or Saturday wherever you are.
  24. As BC says while the "fat" chant wouldn''t be acceptable in the street it is like it or not, part of the experience of attending a modern football match. Racist chanting has no place in society whatsoever. The "fat" chant always seems to be meant in a humourous way, it was directed at Rooney because of his portly appearance and to try to upset his game. The scandal here is not our chant but that the FA have clearly not acted consistently as their dealing with the Ferguson/Boa Morte allegations prove. As ND says the FA should have published in the national press a statement absolviong the good name of Norwich supporters. Everton should also make a statement in apology. As Everton are in the Premiership and we are in Div 1 (for around 12 hours more!!!) the Premiership side gets away scott free without remit.
