1. It’s not as simple to say Jerome doesn’t score enough though is it? He must be so frustrated because the way we play currently is not helping him one jot, as he needs runners and chances to be created but they are few and far between! To say Oliveira would be better is wrong too, he won’t score many in this set up either, people seem to forget that 2 of his 5 goals have actually come when he’s come on as a sub and been chasing the game! The number of times he’s started he has actually missed far more chances than Jerome because he just seems to shoot as soon as he can irrespective of whether others are better placed or not. It’s not the strikers at all it’s the system going forward that is letting us down and it needs to be addressed by Farke ASAP otherwise we will not trouble the top 6 at all with the way we currently play at home
2.
It''s my first post so I''ll start with the positives : 1. Gunn is the best keeper in the league 2. Our defence is getting close to being solid although I''d like to see Hanley play Tuesday 3. Trybul is epic. Far too good for this league. 4. Maddison is superb, but shouldn''t be over relied on. Let''s handle him with care 5. Pritchard is back soon. Best CAM in league. 6. Murphy is now far more physical and effective 7. Yanic deserves to start and is looking very dangerous 8. Our wing-backs are superb. 9. Farke is instilling a culture at the club again 10. Our second best striker is top of league 1 (is that a positive?) 11. Olivera has the best goal per minutes played ratio in the league (Neg - Jerome had one of the worst and Nelson is out for a while) There are two flaws for the 11 positives... I believe we can write off promotion unless we solve the main flaw in January! I do trust in Farke, so I believe he will make the change asap! Flaw 1. (Main flaw) Jerome is the definition of a donkey. He can''t make a diagonal run when we are attacking. He has also lost any ability to stay on the last defender or be on the end of a cross. For me, Jerome having woeful movement and no ability to finish isn''t made acceptable by him closing down relentlessly. No ability... but works hard doesn''t cut it. 7/10 pffft! We''d still be in the Premiership had we not relied on Jerome for goals. Stoke figured him out... Why can''t we!!? Get him in the stands with Russel Martin.... At least Russ can score a header. Flaw 2. Hoolahan looses his primary asset (playing a killer pass) when there is a donkey striker leading our line. When Wes looses this asset he then becomes a weak link and slows down play. Yes Wes has ability and yes he''s been a great servant to the club, but he''s not effective with Jerome. Wes is however miles off Pritchard or Maddison in overall ability, so we can take it as a positive that the are the now and the future of our creativity. The facts are that Wes was bullied yesterday and lost the ball at least 20 times by my counting, two of which resulted in their goals. I''ve always been sceptical about Wes and Tettey for the simple reason that they slow down play. Tettey seems to have been well drilled under Farke to release the ball fast, so I''m more happy with Alex this season. Fast direct breaks are key to success and we still aren''t delivering this consistently due to Wes. IMO Wes should be used as an impact sub but only when Nelson is up top, as his movement can be utilised e.g. against Fulham. Personally however I''d stick with Maddison and Vrancic for killer/direct passing ability. Yanic and Murphy are far better wide players and under Farke they are also far more physical/disciplined. I''d also class Watkins as a winger not a number 10 so he goes in ahead of Wes, while Maddison or Pritchard play no10. For me our most excellent performances were against Middlesbrough, Arsenal and Sheffield Utd... "7 touch Wes" didn''t play. We were direct, we''ll organised, fast and physical. OVERALL The attacking basics are quite simple... 1. Get the ball down the pitch as fast and as hard as possible. 2. Get a striker who understands movement and can finish. If we can deliver those basics then we have more than enough quality to coat the core. I''m sure many will agree with the positives and probably the main flaw. I''m aware that dissing Wes is high treason in Norfolk, but I do feel like it''s time this was said.
You are in dreamland! Gunn is not the best keeper in this division, Pritchard is not the best CAM in this division, Murphy is not physical enough wimps out of too many challenges, we do not play with wing backs they are full backs, if Trybull is too good for this league why is he not at a higher level? Love how positive you are but you need to get realistic and accept we aren’t as good as you believe because as they say the table doesn’t lie does it?
3. I fail to see what the age of posters has to do with posting Midland? Are you trying to say that once your over 50 your football knowledge becomes irrelevant? Experience is what counts in most walks in life as it defines a personality better in my opinion
4. One person to ask why we are in the $hite with strikers is Mr Webber, it’s also him who stated Watkins was a good option for a 3rd striker!
5. Whilst I totally agree it was a penalty yesterday Murphy didn’t help by staying on his feet, if he goes down the ref has to give a penalty
6. Yes, we need Pritchard back but it’s going to take him some time to get match fit after so long out. Why do people think we will play any different with Pritchard in the side anyway? It’s Farke’s tactics going forward that seem to stifle us not the personnel on the pitch
7. Been saying it all season that we don’t move the ball quickly enough when attacking, it takes 3 or 4 passes instead of 1 to get anywhere by which time the opposition has got its shape back. People say we have pace in the side but when do we use it? Rarely do we attack with any pace and if we do we just don’t get enough bodies forward to support our lone striker. I fear we could get picked off quite easily on Tuesday by Wolves who have pace in abundance
8. At least he’s honest when he says he’s a gobshite! But judging by TWTD he’s upset a few of their fans with his honesty 😂😂😂😂
9. What stood out to me today was that when we had a goal kick, there were at least 2, sometimes 3, Derby players on the edge of our area. Yet still Gunn tried to go short all the time, meaning we put ourselves in trouble quite often. Rowett had obviously done his homework well
10. I too hate these, but for once you are right in that it comes at a good time for the players, provided Farke doesn’t pound them of course! I do think the new training methods of Farke are a contributing factor to the injuries we have had, that’s not criticising Farke, I just feel English based players are not used to Continental training methods
11. Morris is there for the season and yes you can have a recall in a loan agreement if the clubs agree!
12. More damning statistics today with only 4 out of 18 shots on target. Darren Eadie summed it up with his analysis that when the ball does go in the box there is nobody in there the majority of the time. We need to stop trying to walk the ball in and pull the trigger more often!
13. Time to give Hanley a start instead of Zimmerman and also Watkins in for Wes and Wildschut for Josh Murphy too
14. I said we could pay dearly for the lack of proven strikers in our squad when the window closed. Now looks like I could sadly be correct, also shows how silly it was to let Morris out on loan for the season with no recall facility!
15.

All the clowns on Snorefolk!
Irrelevant then and not worth a thread. Sub-clueless and drawing judgement after watching on the wireless.
I was there and heard people in the ground berating him around me too
16. Looks like he’ll have to do a lot more with the lack of strikers in our squad and Olivera getting injured too
17. Looked like he just pulled up, for me bringing him on was a big mistake after Farke saying he wasn’t fit, should have brought Watkins on instead I thought
18. Because it’s decided by the FA and Football League, not the clubs!
19. Biggest thing for me today is Farke’s reluctance to utilise other players either on Tuesday or today. I said in my team selection on the other thread I would have played Hanley and Watkins, people say players who’ve played 300 minutes this week, but if they were that tired surely this is where squad rotation is necessary! Hopefully when it comes to the FA Cup Farke will play more fringe players
20. It’s the system we play with one up front in that nobody gets beyond him! I can’t remember the last time, especially in a home game, that an attacking midfielder got beyond him after a flick on, so many people criticising him in the ground and on the radio but if he goes wide then surely a midfielder should get in the box ahead of him? Rectify this problem and I’m sure we will start to worry teams more when they come to Carrow Road, and hopefully score a few more goals at home!
21. It’s because today is the last Saturday home game before Remembrance Day
22. Speaking from personal experience, it’s easy to get too worked up when things go wrong as I have in the past! The answer for me was to actually get in The Nelson, post match, and meet these guys on here face to face, it’s certainly helped me with Nutty, Lapps, Tilly et al counselling me in the error of my ways! Seriously though, it’s good to discuss things face to face and highly recommend a session in The Nelson, although sadly I won’t be able to make it tomorrow due to no trains from GY! I will be in there after Barnsley on Nov 18th, a day I make the City selections for the PUPS and would love to see more new faces there too!
23. I think you could see a couple of surprises in the team, maybe Hanley and Watkins to start. I’d go for: Gunn Pinto Stieperman Hanley Klose Trybull Reed Watkins Maddison Hoolahan Jerome Subs: McGovern Zimmermann Husband Vrancic Murphy Wildschut Oliveira
24. This throws up an interesting scenario possibly, what if a team had 4 injuries in 90 minutes but only use three subs, meaning they are down to 10 men for say 10 mins of normal time, would they then be allowed to go back up to 11 players in extra time?
