1.
Worthy Nigelton, what the hell have you got against the lad? Hendo, Jarvis and Crow are the future of the club, stop getting on the players backs. They could say the same about ...
I never said anything about Jarvis or Crow - I rate them.Maybe I am a useless supporter, I''m sorry, I just hate the fact that nobody will see how bad he is other than me.Anyway, this has been gone into so many times now and I can''t be bothered to go into it again. Its a Worthy Nigelton gimmick now - and I think its funny.
 2. I''d be thinking: "I''m now off to read the Pink ''un messagebaord to see what brilliance that magnificent Worthy Nigelton is talking today, I love him" or if I was Hendo: "Oh my god, how on earth did I end up a footballer? Maybe if I just continue to run around like a headless chicken giving the ball away the coaching staff and some of the less-intelligent fans still won''t cotton-on to the fact I''m rubbish"
 3. Okay, I think the signings for this season have been pretty poor. This is my mark out of 10 for each of this seasons signings. Ratings are based on potential, price and performances. I haven''t rated the goalkeepers as this is a tad unfair, having not seen them play. My ratings are as follows: Ashton: 8 - Great potential and good performances so far, quite pricey at 3m but I''m sure he''ll repay it with interest. Jonson: 3 - Can''t fault effort, commitment etc. but has been quite blatantly out of his depth and at 30 years old I can''t see much improvement, £750k could have been invested a lot, lot better. Shocking bit of business. Helveg: 6 - Good signing as he didn''t cost anything, took a while to adjust to the pace and been unlucky with injuries. Just before he got this injury I thought he qas showing his class. I liked him as a holding midfielder more than right back. Bentley: 6 - Good player but all bar the Bolton game has flattered to deceive a little bit, has also missed a great chunk of the season through injury. Would like him permanently but I doubt it''ll ever happen. Stuart: 5 - Was a good player in his day and I suppose he hasn''t cost us anything but lets be honest he hasn''t done anything really has he. Safri: 4 - Now this rating my seem a little harsh and I do actually think he''s not a bad player. However, I think its justified because of the lack of games he''s played and his failure to command a regular starting place. £500k could have been spent better. Doherty: 10 - Legend. No, seriously 4 - A complete donkey but did start to look a little better at one point, shouldn''t have been dropped when Fleming retained his place as he was the better of the two. However, again £750k could have been spent so much better. Charlton: 7 - Why is he not in the starting line up Saturday? Has looked solid all season and a snip at £250k. There''s my ratings... Anyone beg to differ?
 4.
cheers, you''ve just reinforced my opinion of Portsmouth fans! Just out of curiosity, are you (or should I say U since you may not understand non bastardised English) under 12? Shouldn''t you be d...
Good work Marty! Or should I say "gd wrk Marty"
 5.
we cud still go down, but we have a far better chance then u, and were a bigger club than u. we may not be man utd, but we have a small ground, but were getting a new 38,000 all seater and we have a b...
We are should be we''re not were, that means something totally different. Appalling doesn''t have a "u" in it. Sort it out son....
 6.
"We wouldn''t have got promoted without him last year and he''s been good this year. Ok he makes a few mistakes but name a goalkeeper who doesn''t?" Good point DD. Even Gianluigi Buffon undoubtably th...
I would argue Petr Cech or Iker Cassilas are the best in the world at the moment. Greeno''s top drawer, leave him alone. One of our few players who is actually good enough for this league and people want to knock him.... uh?
 7.
I''m sorry Helsinki, but from the chats I HAD with PLAYERS at that time, the complete opposite was said. Unless they were damn good liars, they all rated him very highly, some still do..... and all at...
I never thought I''d hear a Norwich fan yet again pipe on about bringing back Mike Walker! Please stop, the guy was good first time around and average second time but we can''t go back again.
 8. Errr.... no. He won''t even get into the team with Leon''s current form. I personally think that he isn''t as good as Leon, Deano or Jarvis (potentially).
 9.
Henderson,if only for the hours of fun he''s given certain posters on here
Good call, Nolegs!!!Damo for me, followed by Hucks then Eddie.
 10. Great post Yankee, I totally agree that players like Fleming, Holt, Charlton and I''d add Jonson and Helveg to that list are to be chopped for next year. We must build a side with a view to it playing in the Premiership in 2006 - 2007. These players, though they might be very good Championship players next year are quite simply not going to be up to it if/when we get re-promoted in 2006 - 2007. I think there is a lot of pressure on Worthy to bring in players of the right quality for next year but still with some potential to improve and I just hope he does a better job in the transfer market than this year.
 11.
No mate the real reason we are going down is because there is a massive gap in class and finances between the Championship and the Premiership and we just haven''t been able to bridge this gap in one g...
Can somebody tell me how much Palace have spent? I didn''t think they''d hardly spent a bean but I''ve heard one or two posters say about how they''ve spent a lot of money. On who have they spent it Mr Rosario and how much did they spend?I''m not being sarcastic, just genuinely want to know...
 12.
Perlease!!!!!! Might be true? Why would Munby tell an acquantance the inner most secrets of the football club, like who will be released? If Luke wants to show off his impressive source, why has he...
I remember in January somebody coming on here saying they''d seen Dean Ashton at Colney and he got shot down. Now, I agree that 95% of these "sources" people have are rubbish, but you never know and there was no need for the rude tone.
 13. I disagree, I think there are managers who could have kept us up with the 5+ million Worthy has had to spend. That doesn''t mean to say I''m in the "Worthy out" camp, far from it but I think the board have backed Worthy reasonably well in his time in charge. I think Worthy has had a bad season, this season. His signings have been nothing short of diabolical, his tactics baffling and he still seems to be a little on the negative side. However, I think that he is still the best man for the job and I have no doubt we will make a swift return to the Premiership when we are relegated. I would just urge him to be a little more careful in the transfer market.
 14.
YOU STUPID BOY, run off & finish your homework,
Hang on a minute, don''t shoot him down just yet it might be true, doubt it, but you never know.
 15.
Dear Worthy Nigelton, yes I do believe bringing him into the team has been a major success because despite his years he has performed far better than players with years more experience. I guess that a...
"I HAD no doubt that he WOULD be a class defender" I think that should be "I HAVE no doubt that he WILL be a class defender" Anyway, one thing we can all agree on is that we have a great young prospect on our hands and that can only mean good things for NCFC
 16.
WN, how has playing him now been a gamble with regard to a blow to his confidence? What must the performances of the previous back four and Shacks inability to convince Worthy to play him, have done t...
The first part of your post is a fair point. In response to the knee-jerk question. I would say that it is exactly what I expected, but that doesn''t mean I agree with it. I don''t think that knee-jerk reactions of any sort are valid, even in these circumstances. You can''t start saying "Yeah he''s brilliant, I told you so" on the back of 2 games, which I think is a fair comment. Nobody said he was a failure Morph - I think he''s been anything but and this brings me back to the whole point of this argument which is: ITS FAR TOO EARLY TO JUDGE WHETHER OR NOT HE''S DONE BADLY OR WELL, OR WHETHER WORTHY WAS RIGHT TO PLAY HIM OR NOT. And I agree, now he''s picked him he definitely has to stick with him but I still personally would have brought him in at the start of next season.
 17.
Success is a relative concept; I have judged him a success by comparing him to his more experienced colleagues in the 2 games he has played - IMO he has been significantly better than either Fleming o...
So, basically we agree that it was a risk to throw him in and gamble with a loss of confidence, but so far, it has been a succesful gamble? Although, it is too early to judge completely... as we both agree. Well why has Silver Fox (who I originally responded to) posted a rant of "I told you so" directed at me if it is to early to judge? (Sorry, I know you can''t answer that)
 18.
WN - it takes 5 players (4 defenders plus a keeper - before we get to midfield etc etc ) to be water tight and we have not been that all season. However the performances in both games have been assur...
Zippers, usually you look at things very objectively and I enjoy reading your posts, although I don''t agree with all of your opinions - for the vast majority I do. However, on this occasion the views expressed on this board are completely knee-jerk. Shackell has had a good game against Chelsea - I don''t dispute that, but how can you possibly call bringing him in a success already? HE''S PLAYED 2 GAMES!!!! Yes he looks good, and as I''ve said numerous times I expect him to be a good player for us. But to say how I was wrong about bringing him in already is ridiculous on the back of one performance against Chelsea. If he puts in assured displays week-in-week-out until the end of the season and continues next season I will hold my hands up but I do still feel this was a bit of a risk and you can''t say its came off completely already. Also, in response to your comment about next season also being "too risky" I would agree that it is always a risk with youngsters and you do have to take a risk at some point, but surely its a more calculated risk at the beginning of a season when we''re not in a relegation dog-fight? I think by the last line in your post you have summed up my whole point. He''s played one average and one good game for us since he''s been thrown in and you have made a comparison to Wayne Rooney - is this not a tad over the top? Also, if I remember rightly, David Moyes used Rooney vary sparingly from the bench before he started him right from the off didn''t he?
 19. Can you see that your future thread titles make a little more sense please Grinner? I think this is non-sense. Worthy has doen spectacularly well with us in a short space of time and I personally believe the club expected to come straight back down as part of a longer term plan. I believe we will go straight back up with relative ease, and when we do, we will stay up and establish oursleves. Worthy will sort it in the end.
 20.
Can this really be the same Jason Shackell that our poster ''Worthy Nigelton'' believes should not be playing in the team. You must be really p----d off now because that is 2 matches on the trot that h...
Ha ha ha!! I knew this was coming. Alright Silver Fox here''s my response: As I''ve said on many occassions, I rate Shackell VERY HIGHLY. I still stand by my statement that now is/was not an ideal time to bring in a young defender. I can''t see how you can already judge him as a rip-roaring success on the back of 2 games at home in which we have conceded 6 goals. How can you say that for 2 matches on the trot he''s been our best defender - were you at the Man City game? Their 2nd goal was totally his fault, and Adam Drury was outstanding in that game. I''ve always thought he''s "good enough" as you put it, I just think it was too big a risk to bring him in at this time in a season and I stand by that, our defence has exactly become water-tight since his arrival has it? He did play very well against Chelsea and okay against Man City, but surely, you cannot call bringing him in a major success just yet....can you?
