  1. That's an excellent post. The only thing I would add to your analysis was that it was painfully obvious for the first 60 minutes that our only form of attack was to walk the ball out to half way line (Plymouth deliberately gave our CBs the space to do this) and then spread it out wide to our FBs. If we were able to cross successfully there was seldom anyone attacking the ball and if we lost it, this meant that our flanks were wide open with stranded FBs. As soon as Sara was pushed forward into the 10 role we looked a much better team, espeically with Forshaw covering the gaping hole in midfield (which in part was due to the Mayor dropping too deep to play the 3rd CB because we had no full backs!). Idah looked much better making runs feeding off Sara than he did waiting for a quarter back style pass from deep in our half.
  2. I was at the game and even without the benefit of replays it seemed that Gunn should have at least got a hand to the Aziz goal. However, the root cause of the first 5 goals we conceded was that our full backs were out of position and this meant that Plymouth could exploit or overload the space with our two slow centre backs. The other part of our game that drives me nuts is the amount of times that we concede after given the ball away needlessly. The first two goals arose from us trying to play the ball out of defence in tight positions. I have noticed that this generally happens close to the left back position. I wonder if anyone has done any statistical analysis which compares the goals that we gain from playing out from the back compared to the goals that we lose from these errors?
  3. You are right as Pinkun is normally tipped off to let us down gently around about now and they have been strangely silent today. My guess is that it is all connected with the flight from Bolzano yesterday afternoon. Hopefully tour of Colney, medical and paperwork.
  4. Pohjanpalo is exactly what we need. He has a decent recent goalscoring record in a country where defenses are tighter and has a decent international pedigree. More importantly, he is cheap (£3.4M release clause) and has been described as a physically imposing striker who "creates problems" for defenders with his strength.
  5. Assume this relates to flights.? If so, Omo to Bournemouth and Pohjanpalo from Venezia?
  6. Chelsea's bid to sign Ben Chilwell from Leicester City in a £50m deal could collapse on Monday, with the 23-year-old England defender set to visit a specialist over his heel injury. (Sun)
  7. He is 21 and has only played in serie c in Italy. Maybe one for the future but not a first teamer. Also he is right footed and we have been targeting a left footer. Ben Gibson interest may not yet be dead.
  8. To be fair, Wilson and Lewis have pretty similar profiles in terms of experience, international caps and being homegrown. On top of this, there is some form of premium for attacking players. Notwithstanding this, the irony is priceless.
  9. Beat me to it! https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-want-20m-harry-wilson-22497423?_ga=2.131196751.1749448029.1597094468-1642860298.1585739834 Oh the irony!
  10. It seems that all opinions are valid but "all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others"
  11. Whilst having a look at WACCOE to see if there are any Leeds rumours regarding Buendia, their interest in Ben Godfrey was cited by a local Leeds journalist. Apparently he is their back up choice if they cant get Ben White from Brighton. The interesting bit is that this journalist (Beren Cross) believes that Godfrey is on his way to Dortmund, presumably once they have sold Sancho for megabucks. I have no idea whether he has got this info from contacts at Leeds or indeed how reliable he is. Bethnal - have you heard anything?
  12. They wouldnt be lettting the prospect go - it is the other way round. He has a year left on his contract and wont extend as he wants first team football. According to several Liverpool fan tweets he has set his mind on going to Leeds as he wants to play for Bielsa (although not sure how he would be a first teamer in the prem) Even if we agree a deal with Liverpool for him, they cant force the player to sign with us.
  13. I like Trybull too, but I think the issue is his mobility. He is great at tackling, but he simply doesnt cover the ground well enough and there have been many games when players have gone past him. He looks most effetcive when we defend deep and mobility is less of an issue. I hope that he finds a good move.
  14. Farke's recent interview suggested that we are taregtting proven Championship experience
  15. Randolph is a gret shot stopper but is uncomfortable playing the ball out with his feet. Someone on another post or forum mentioned ron robert zieler from Hannover 96, who we were apparently sniffing around last summer. German international said to be wanting a move and counts as homegrown because he was a youth in England.
  16. Really good shout. 6 foot 3 inches and in his prime. More importantly, I think he is now out of contract so would be free.
  17. Why would Motherwell have loved him? He played for St.Mirren
