  1. Fair play, that's good news then because I think Lewis is a complete liability - Rashica and Max down that right side then. Bit confused, you pressed 'like' on Christoph Stiepermann's post, so you knew it existed, but then decided to repeat it anyway. Still, that's good news, because Lewis is sh*t and flogging him for £15m is Webber's best bit of business.
  2. Thought I'd have a quick look at this as didn't sound right (the vast majority of Spillane's games under Lambert were not at centre back). Looks like it was actually Doherty and Berthel Askou at centre back, Spillane (and then Otsemober) at right back. Spillane must have played alright as he soon signed for Brentford!
  3. Personally I just think he gets picked over Rupp as he's left footed so gives some balance to the side, we also have our left sided centre back in Ben Gibson.
  4. You clearly don't realise that Jamal Lewis has only made 1 appearance for Newcastle this season, and none under Howe, people should value the rest of your post accordingly.
  5. I'm still skeptical really, we played really well against Wolves but lets not forget we were the home team and failed to score. Our lack of firepower I feel will be our downfall. That seems to be the biggest failure of our summer transfer business, the failure to bring in Pukki competition or goals from midfield. We rely entirely on him being on form or having his shooting boots on, I can see that Sargent has a bit to offer as a deeper or wide player but he's clearly not a centre forward.... Idah is well off the required level and will go and need a full season of football somewhere as a starting point. I'm even beginning to wonder whether it might be a good idea to recall Drmic in January if its possible.
  6. Some people feel tired for several months after glandular fever, lets hope he isn't one of them.
  7. Highly flawed most of these 'plant a tree' things. They plant trees where doing so is cheapest (22 euro cents per tree they manage), not necessarily where their CO2 is released, and you don't need to be a scientist to work out why that is a flawed model. Ecosia are a good example of such an organisation, planting mainly in Brazil and Bukino Faso. Better than not planting at all, but the trees are not going to absorb the CO2 created by the Amazon AWS data centres it uses in the UK.
  8. Loads you would think.. remember that Idah, Tsoliz, Gilmour, Williams, Omobamidele, and Mumba don't count towards the 25 as they are under 21 (and there is a cut off point so not even sure that Kabak, Sargent and Aarons do this season, but can't be bothered to check their date of birth).
  9. I mean.... Mitrovic only scored 3 last season. Drmic only started 7 league games! These little details are important for context. If there is no budget for a striker in January, but we can recall either one of Drmic or Hugill then I'd fully support Dean Smith bringing one or both of them back as we are clearly desperately short in that position. And of the two.... the one with the spring in his step is almost certainly going to be Drmic... Hugill is struggling at West Brom.
  10. I don't understand why both of you are writing in varied font sizes. But yes I understand that the loan agreement will stipulate whether a player can be recalled. Unfortunately I doubt anybody at the club would have contemplating putting one in Drmic's agreement and as a bomb squad member they would have just wanted him gone?
  11. He has 13 in 17 He's better than Idah at this stage in his career, and will have a point to prove to Farke.
  12. Having seen what Lukas Rupp looks like in a Dean Smith team, I'm suddenly curious what he could get out of Drmic and Hugill. And there's Onel?
  13. If we pay the £11m option to make Normann permanent in January, can we then replace that loan with another or would we have already maxed out the quota?
  14. Yeah I got your point the first time. I stand corrected. But that's fine, after seeing what Lukas Rupp looks like under Dean Smith I'd be interested in knowing whether Drmic and Hugill have January recall options.
  15. I don't get this.... Where are all the people admitting that Dean Smith has given this squad the shot in the arm it needs, putting their hands up and admitting that in just two games he's given us all hope. Toon fans can't say the same of Eddie Howe yet can they.
  16. Having his manager tell the press that he was injured when he wasn't (that happened to more than one player didn't it) and being forced to get changed in a shed at Colney to keep him away from other players is quite disrespectful to a 35 cap International footballer I feel. There were plenty as bad as him following the restart in that season, felt pretty obvious that we were trying to make things miserable for him so he'd walk away from his contract. In the second half of that last Premier League season he really wasn't any worse than Pukki, whole squad was completely devoid of confidence.
  17. I suspect if we are in with a chance of survival then we'll be looking to loan a striker ourselves and can let Idah out on loan.
  18. They are 2nd and the season doesn't finish until May you oddball. Agreed that he was treated poorly, but it would be perfectly valid to point out the poor standard of that league.
  19. Farke's decision making was erratic all season, he had simply lost the plot and that is the truth.
  20. He often looks decent to me, just got no goals in him at all. We are desperately short of players in midfield who can find the net, which is why some of us understand the importance of getting Cantwell fit and on form to our survival chances.
  21. I respect Webber for being decisive and sacking Farke, he's been brave and backed himself and his signings over sticking with a promotion specialist, and he's well on the way to being vindicated. Webber got his slate wiped clean with me, even if I have to use Kensell as a convenient scapegoat for a few other decisions 😂
